~Luca~
“Sir, we've been here all night. Are you sure she's safe?”
Elijah asked breaking the silence. Our car was still parked just in front of Aria’s house but still no sign of her.
“My instincts are still numb, she's okay. But I need to see her to make sure. Run me more information on her as quickly as possible.”
I ordered Elijah.
“Okay sir. I'm on it.”
I sat in the back seat of the sleek black SUV, my gaze sharp as I stared out the window. The city lights blurred past, but my mind was elsewhere, on Aria.
My mate.
I had only marked her scent a few hours ago, and already, my wolf was restless. On edge. Despite my senses dormant, I couldn't help but feel she was in danger.
I didn't realize that mating a mere human could be this much of a work.
Elijah, sat in the driver's seat, scrolling through his phone. “I found something,” he said, his voice steady. “She works at a small restaurant, named the Green Palace. Her mother owns it.”
My fingers twitched. Close. I was so damn close. My wolf growled in approval. “Where is it?”
“It's by the Border District South. A few meters away from us.”
Elijah rattled off the address, and without hesitation, I tapped the partition. “Drive there. Now.” I yelled out my voice stern, laced with urgency.
Elijah obeyed immediately, smoothly changing direction as he ignited the engine and sped off. “Faster Elijah!!” I yelled, my tone too anxious and impatient.
I leaned back, but I couldn’t relax. My instincts were too sharp, too aware.
And then...
A sudden, invisible force slammed into my chest.
“Argh!!!” I groaned.
His breathing hitched.
Pain,Fear,I could feel them soo vivid and fresh.
It wasn’t mine. I wasn't afraid or in pain.... It was hers!!
My mate was in danger.
A low, dangerous growl rumbled from my throat, my fingers curling into fists. My wolf snarled, demanding action, demanding to protect, to find her now.
“Elijah,” I said, his voice deadly calm.
My beta immediately turned, recognizing the shift in his alpha’s energy. “What’s wrong?”
“I felt her.” My jaw clenched. My heart pounded with the sheer force of it. “She’s in trouble.”
“Shit.” Elijah sat up straighter. “We’re almost there.”
“Faster,” I snapped, struggling to hold in my anger.
The SUV lurched forward, speeding through the streets, moving past cars.
The second we reached the restaurant, I didn’t wait. I was out of the car before it even fully stopped, the door slamming behind me as I inhaled deeply...
Her scent. It was here.
And then...
It vanished.
My chest heaved as his wolf whined, claws scraping at my mind. “Elijah.” my voice was rough.
My beta was already on his phone, his expression grim. “She was here,” Elijah confirmed. “But she already left for the night.”
My eyes darkened, my jaw tightening. My pulse roared in own ears, my fists flexing at my sides.
I had felt her distress.
Something had happened to her.
And now, she was gone.
“Sir, what do you think happened?” Elijah asked, almost expectant of the answer.
“What does it look like. My enemies have gotten to her before I did.” I admitted.
“I'll try to trace her down.”Elijah said as he walked back to the car.
I stood in from of the restaurant, lost in thoughts.
What could be going on in her mind right now. She didn't even know that I mated her and now she's been kidnapped.
I need to find and rescue her now!
~Aria~
My eyes fluttered open to a throbbing headache. My vision was still a bit blurry, but I could tell I was surrounded my darkness. I could barely remember how long I was unconscious or what even happened.
“NO.!”
I let out a huge gasp as it struck me. I was kidnapped! Leaving the restaurant I was kidnapped.
I tried to stand up, but then I realized I had my hands and legs tied to a chair.
“Hello!!! Please is anyone there?” I yelled out to the empty space, my voice echoing. From the size and the structure I could tell this was a warehouse.
My stomach twisted violently. I was kidnapped.
A sharp click echoed through the warehouse.
Suddenly I heard distant footsteps gently approaching.
I swallowed hard, my pulse roaring in my ears as a man stepped into the light.
He was tall, and he had broad shoulders. His green amber eyes looked unnatural to me. I didn’t know him.
But the way he looked at me, like he already owned me, sent ice down my spine. “Good. You’re awake.”
His voice was deep, smooth, but laced with something cold.
Just then about four other men walked out front the darkness and stood behind him.
I stiffened.
“Who, who are you?” My voice wavered. “Where am I?”
He smirked. “Somewhere safe. For now.” My skin crawled. “Let me go.”
His head tilted, amused. “Oh, I don’t think so.” He took a slow step closer. “You’re here because of Alpha Luca.”
I frowned. The name meant nothing to me. “I don’t know who that is.” My voice was sharper now, though fear still rattled my chest. “I don’t know you. I don’t belong here. Maybe you got the wrong person.”
His smirk deepened. “Oh, but you do.” His amber eyes bored into mine. “Because you are his mate.”
My stomach dropped.
“That’s insane.” I shook my head, heart pounding. “I don’t even have a boyfriend, let alone a... ” My throat tightened.
“How can I even have a mate it's not like werewolf exist. And even if they did I'm sure I'm not one.”
His gaze darkened, his smirk curling into something almost dangerous. “You don’t believe me?”
And then...
His body shuddered.
I froze as his muscles contorted, bones snapping with sickening cracks.
His limbs stretched unnaturally, his skin rippling like something beneath it was forcing its way out.
I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. And then, where the man had stood...
A massive, monstrous wolf loomed before me.
Towering, its thick fur dark as shadow, its amber eyes now glowing like fire.
I gasped, my breath shattering as pure terror slammed through me.
This wasn’t real.
This couldn’t be real.
I was too stunned to even scream. I just froze my mouth wide open in disbelief.
And then, just as quickly as it happened...
His body snapped back into human form.
Within seconds, the man stood before me again, adjusting his sleeves like it was nothing.
My entire body shook, my lungs barely able to pull in air.
He crouched slightly, his amber eyes locking onto mine.
“Believe me now?” he murmured.
I couldn’t answer.
Because my world had just turned upside down.
“So they are real... werewolves are real...” I could barely mutter words.
“Of course we are.” he answered sharply, still wearing that hideous grin on his face.
For a few seconds, it still looked surreal what I just saw.
But gradually the pieces began to fall in place. The two murders that night. The vision of a white wolf.
Gradually it kind of made more sense to me what he said, but for one thing.
“Even if you are a werewolf. Why did you kidnap me?” Is asked again. “After all I'm just a human.”
He chuckled turning to me, his amber eyes glinting.
“How many times must I say this, huh? You little girl are the mate to Alpha Luca. The very Alpha who burnt my pack to the ground. Once he feels that his Mate in his danger, he'll be here any minute and then I get my revenge.”
The man continued.
But, still it didn't add up. “But, your mistaken. I don't have a mate and I don't know any Alpha Luca.”
I
“My senses don't lie lady!” He snapped at me, his tone rising.
“I felt it few nights back when you were marked by Alpha Luca.”
“Marked? But I don't remember getting...” I paused for a moment. The images of that night of the party becoming clearer.
There was a werewolf
He was the one who saved me and then marked me!
But... why me??
Suddenly, a loud bang shattered the tense silence as the warehouse doors were suddenly flung open.
The metal groaned against its rusted hinges, the heavy doors swinging so violently that they slammed against the walls with a thunderous crash. The sharp sound sent a bolt of fear through me, my entire body stiffening where I sat on the cold floor.
The men who had kidnapped me also turned, muscles tensing as they instinctively reached for weapons.
Then he walked in.
Tall, imposing, unshakable.
The dim overhead lights flickered against his sharp features, his golden eyes burning like embers in the dark. The very air seemed to shift around him, charged with something powerful—something primal.
My breath hitched.
Even without knowing who he was, I could feel it.
He wasn’t just a man. He was something else entirely. And he wasn’t alone.
Beside him, another figure stepped in—slightly shorter but just as dangerous. His presence was quieter, sharper, like a blade waiting to strike. His eyes swept the room, calculating, taking in every detail as if already plotting their next move.
Then their leader—the man who had taken me—let out a low, humorless chuckle.
"Ah," he drawled, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at them. "So the mighty Alpha Luca finally decided to show up."
The name slammed into me like a shockwave.
Alpha Luca? My supposed mate. The man at the party?..
That wasn’t possible.
The stranger standing at the entrance—the one with golden eyes locked onto me like I was the only thing in the room—was him?
The very man I was supposedly fated to?
I barely had time to process the thought before another sound cut through the room. A single, commanding growl.
It didn’t come from Luca.
It came from the shadows.
One by one, dark figures began stepping into the dim light. Silent. Lethal. Unforgiving. Luca hadn't come alone.
His men surrounded the room like predators emerging from the darkness, their stances controlled but poised to attack at a moment’s notice. Some of them weren’t even fully human anymore—claws lengthened, eyes glowing in the dim warehouse lighting.
A real pack.
The men around me stiffened. Some hesitated, a few glancing at their leader as if unsure whether they still stood a chance.
Then, without warning, Luca spoke—his voice smooth, controlled, but carrying an edge of pure dominance.
"Let her go."
It wasn’t a request.
It was a command.
And suddenly, the air felt thick with something unspoken. A pressure that made my skin prickle, my pulse race.
But my captor only smirked, tilting his head slightly. "You came all this way for one girl?" he mused, sounding almost amused. "Why? What's she to you?"
The moment the words left his mouth, Luca moved.
Not with hesitation. Not with anger.
But with absolute purpose.
In a blur of motion, he was across the room, slamming into the other Alpha before he even had time to react.
The fight erupted instantly.
A deafening crash filled the warehouse as Luca slammed into the man who had taken me.
I flinched, pressing myself against the cold metal wall, my breath trapped in my throat. Everything happened too fast—too violently. One second, they were standing face to face, the next, they were colliding like two storms crashing together.
The force of their fight sent crates shattering around them. Wood splintered, dust filled the air, and the sheer sound of bone meeting bone made my stomach turn.
I had never seen anything like this before.
Luca moved like a predator—controlled, dangerous, utterly unforgiving.
The man who had kidnapped me was strong—I knew that much. I had seen the way his men followed him, the way he commanded them with barely a word. But now?
Now, I saw fear flicker in his eyes.
“You think you can just walk in here and take what’s mine?” my captor snarled, spitting blood onto the floor.
Luca’s golden gaze didn’t waver. He stood tall, his presence alone enough to make the air feel heavier.
“She was never yours.”
Chapter 6Get Married?!~Aria~“She was never yours.”And then he struck again. In one swift movement, he caught the man’s wrist mid-attack and twisted. A sickening crack echoed through the warehouse. My captor roared in pain, stumbling backward, clutching his broken arm. But Luca wasn’t done. He moved with precision, with purpose—like every motion had already been planned in his mind before his body even executed it.He slammed his knee into the man’s ribs, sending him skidding across the floor. For a moment, silence stretched between them. Then, something shifted. My captor’s breathing changed—deeper, rougher. Then his body began to change.A sharp gasp caught in my throat as I watched bones stretch, muscles shift, dark fur rippling over his skin. His fingers curled into claws. His eyes glowed like embers. His teeth—fangs—gleamed under the flickering warehouse lights.I pressed my hand to my mouth, horrified. ~Luca~I killed Alpha Randall right in front of my mate.Knowing he captured my mate just ticked my wolf off, for that reason Randall didn't stand a chance against me.Normally the fight between two alphas lasts longer as the difference between them isn't much, but my incredible anger made it look like an Alpha fighting a beta. Now, I was on the road sitting next to my mateI couldn't help but wonder how terrified she would be.A mere human had to watch a fight off between two alphas, I was surprised by how well she was holding up.“Why me?”Her sudden question pierced through the silence. Her words made me think for a moment. Then, my mind back to that night, dancing with her, her shy character and her beautiful eyes were enough to get me lost in the moment. And after saving her from those thugs and seeing her innocent face, I couldn't help it.“It doesn't matter.” I waved it off. I couldn't confess such to a human, it'll make me look weak.“You’ll marry me.” I said sharply.I had t
~Luca~I stiffened. I’d grown up hearing those words. I had bled to prove I was worthy to lead this pack. They respected me because I was strong—because I upheld the traditions my father died protecting. But Aria... She wasn't supposed to be my mate. But I felt something in the moment our bond snapped into place. Refusing her wasn’t an option. Not without tearing apart something inside me.And yet, I knew exactly what this would mean.“They’ll see this as weakness,” Visha’s voice softened, but there was steel underneath. “The Elders. The warriors. The pack. They will question you. And when an Alpha is questioned, there’s only one way it ends.”A challenge. A fight. Bloodshed.I had killed before. I would kill again. But this was different. This was my leadership—my life—on the line. All because I dared to choose my mate. A human mate.I gritted my teeth. “I’ll handle it.”Visha stepped closer, her voice low. “Your father would never have allowed this.”I flinched—just slightly—but she
~Aria~ I sat in front of a mirror as Ellie began to style my hair. Ellie, was Luca’s housemaid. She oiled it and brushed it until it was smooth and shiny, flowing down my back. Everything about my features looked so perfect, I guess that's what happens when you use expensive creams. Although my hair was naturally fine and smooth, it wasn't always bad to try out hair creams as well. After styling my hair, she brought out make up kits. I couldn't possibly recall the last time I used make up on my face. I didn't see the use in going to such great lengths to look beautiful. But today being my wedding, it was only right I used it. “You get to marry Luca Akrim today. Many girls would die to be in your position.” Ellie remarked breaking the silence between us. “Not me though. I'm not marrying him by choice.” I said sharply. “Really? Let me guess... The money right?” Ellie asked. “Of course not!!” I was quick to deny it. But taking another moment to think about that. It partly was a
~Aria~So I waved away Mom and then I turned, took Luca’s hand, and stepped into the car. The door closed with a soft thud, cutting off the music and voices behind us.The drive started, and the world outside blurred. Now i was with a beast. A beast I've committed the rest of my life with. The drive felt longer than it was.I was too aware of the silence sitting between me and Luca, the low hum of the car engine the only thing filling the space. Every time I glanced out the window, the forest seemed to press in tighter, the trees growing taller, their shadows darker.I knew we were getting close.“Don't try what you did at the wedding ever again.” Luca’s cold voice broke the silence.“Excuse me?” I asked, a little confused.“You almost made a fool of me! Don't you dare try that ever again.” He raised his voice, his tone harsh. My heart skipped a beat, the fear gripped me.“... Fine.” I answered softly.“I'm sorry for the tone.” Luca sighed, his tone now more friendly.Did he just apol
~Aria~“Cut that crap attitude. You either come down for dinner and eat with us or let Visha make your stay here a living hell. It’s your call.”Luca’s voice was low, but the warning was clear.I nodded, forcing a tight smile. “Okay.”The room thundered as he shot the door behind him.I stayed frozen, my heart still racing. What the hell just happened? The vision—those wolves—was like the library all over again. And those eyes... the same. White wolves. The rarest. The strongest. And the most beautiful species of werewolves ever known. But why me? Why now? And why only white wolves?I shook my head. I didn’t have time to figure that out—not tonight.I needed to get to dinner. The last thing I wanted was to make enemies, especially with my husband’s stepmother, on my first night.I pulled off my wedding gown and stepped into a nice shower. As the water streamed down on my body, I scrubbed away the makeup on my face and then my whole body. After a hectic day like today, from the weddin
~Luca~Dinner was a fucking circus. It always was in this house.Every glance, every carefully placed word—it was all part of the show. A goddamn performance Visha had perfected long before I even understood what the game was.I knew what tonight would be before we even stepped into that dining room. I felt it the second I laid my hand on Aria’s back, guiding her inside like she needed me to hold her up. Maybe she did.She was nervous. I could feel it in the way her shoulders tightened under my palm. Hell, I couldn’t blame her. She had no idea what she’d walked into.Visha was already seated when we reached. Turning to us, she took a small sip from my glass of wine and then her lips curled up into a smile. The kind of smile that made you feel small before she even said a word.I pulled out Aria’s chair. She sat stiffly, trying so hard to seem like she belonged. I admired that, even if I knew it was useless. This house, this family... it ate people like her alive.Visha’s eyes lingered
~Luca~I was in my office, when Elijah barged in.Elijah didn’t knock. He never did, but today it grated on me more than usual. The door slammed against the wall, his boots heavy on the floor like he wanted me to hear every damn step.I barely looked up. I was still chewing over this morning—Aria’s face when she shoved past me, that edge in her voice. She hadn’t even looked at me when she left for school. I told myself I didn’t care.I was lying. But Elijah’s face—tight, eyes dark with that fuck, this is bad look—made my stomach twist before he even opened his mouth.“It’s out,” he said, low and sharp. I frowned. “What?”He didn’t explain. Just shoved his phone at me, the screen blaring headlines I didn’t need to read twice.Luca Arkim Marries Human – Elders Kept in the Dark. Luca’s POVThe throne room was colder than usual. Maybe it was just my mood. I sat hunched on the edge of the throne, hands laced, jaw clenched, eyes burning into the marbled floor. Elijah stood by the far window, arms folded, eyes scanning the trees beyond the walls as if danger still lingered out there. Maybe it did.“No new attacks?” I asked, my voice cutting through the thick silence.Elijah shook his head. “None. Not a damn thing since the last wave.” He turned to face me, his expression unreadable. “It’s too quiet. Like they’re waiting.”I nodded once, slowly. “They’ll try again. That last hit wasn’t a warning, it was a test. They wanted to see how close they could get without getting their heads ripped off.”Elijah walked closer, his boots thudding against the stone. “And they got close, Luca. Too close.”I looked up at him, at the slight bruising still faint on his temple. His shoulders were stiff—tension coiled under every breath he took. “How’re you holding up?” I asked, sof
Julian’s POVI didn’t knock. I never did. The throne room doors slammed open so hard the guards flinched. Victor looked up lazily from where he sat—draped over his cursed black stone throne like the world owed him a nap.“You sent them after Aria and Elijah?” I barked, voice echoing off the high vaulted ceilings.Victor barely moved. “I did.”“You fool,” I snarled, stalking across the floor. “That wasn’t the deal. You were supposed to give me time, not light the damn match under them.”He waved a hand, dismissive. “A message had to be sent. They needed to feel pressure—get pulled thin. That’s what distractions are for.”“You pulled the wrong string,” I growled. “Now they’re regrouping faster. Elijah’s alive, Aria’s rattled—but not broken. Luca’s more focused than ever.”Victor straightened slowly, eyes narrowing. “You forget who you’re speaking to, Julian.”I ignored the warning and kept going. “You’re burning the house down before we’ve even stepped through the front door. I need to
ARIA'S POVThe walk back to the packhouse was heavy. I couldn't just get my mind off what just happened. The hair behind my neck was still up, I couldn't help but feel danger was close by. Elijah kept a steady pace beside me, but his silence made the air thicker, heavier. He hadn’t said much since the fight. I wasn’t ready to hear whatever dark thoughts he had swirling in his head about what was coming. But my thoughts were just as tangled. The fight. The attack. The message. They weren’t just random, meaningless acts of violence. They were calculated—designed to get our attention, to prove a point. And Victor… Julian… they were only just beginning.I rubbed my still-aching shoulder. It hurt. The burn of the bite was still fresh, but it was nothing compared to what was waiting for us. That feeling, that dread, settled deep in my gut.By the time we reached the packhouse, I was almost certain Luca would already know what had happened. If he didn’t, I’d make sure he did.I didn’t wai
Victor POVThe room was dark, dimly lit only by the flickering lights of two torches. I leaned back on the iron throne, boots heavy on the floor. It was a very successful mission, from the the way I see it. We tore through the village killing everyone in sight and I was sure that bastard Luca would have gotten my message. And today was the first step in my ultimate goal to get the white wolf, Aria by my side. And I would kill anybody who stands in my way. Just then I heard a knock.Sharp. Impatient."Enter," I said, voice low, cold.Julian stepped in like he owned the shadows, cloak dragging slightly as he moved toward me. He didn’t bow. He never did. That’s why I tolerated him. Because unlike the sniveling fools who kiss my boots, Julian at least knew how to speak in teeth and venom.“It wasn’t enough,” he said, without preamble.I stared at him, lips curling. “The screams carried far enough. The flames licked the sky.”He shook his head. “It was a ripple. Not a wave. Luca didn’
Luca POVThe Moon was hanging low, the night had already fallen. I raised my hand up to signal the end of training for today. Aria’s breaths were heavy, her skin covered with sweat, and Elijah stood nearby with his arms crossed, nodding slightly in approval. She'd held her own today, better than ever. Controlled, precise. Her instincts were finally beginning to cut through the fog of hesitation. But there was still something buried in her, something pulling her back. I could see it in the way her eyes shifted, always scanning, always alert.“That's enough for today,” I said, stepping forward, my voice steady but not cold. “You did well.”She nodded, not quite meeting my eyes, and turned to walk back toward the house. I watched her go for a second too long, the curve of her shoulders telling me more than her words ever would. She was still carrying something. And whatever it was—it was starting to weigh her down.Elijah glanced at me. “You saw it too?”I nodded once. “Yeah.”“She’s
Chapter 56Aria's POV My eyes fluttered open to bright morning light streaming through my curtains. My bones ached a little from yesterday's training, but also Julian’s threat still clawed at the back of my mind. But I can't focus on that.Today, I train.I rolled out of bed, my muscles stretching and tightening as I threw on simple clothes: black leggings, a grey tunic, boots I didn’t bother to lace too tightly. My fingers lingered briefly over the necklace Luca had returned to me weeks ago. I left it behind. I needed to be bare for this. The air outside was sharp with morning. I crossed the grounds briskly, eyes narrowing against the sun. My wolf was restless under my skin, pacing in circles, ears flicking forward with anticipation. Something about today felt different. And then I saw them.Luca and Elijah stood at the edge of the field. Luca, arms crossed, that dark stormy look painted on his face like war paint. Elijah had his usual calm smirk, but his hands were already flexi
Elena's POVThe morning came in sharp. Too sharp. Like glass slicing across her thoughts.I was up before the sun, just... waiting. My room felt too small, too quiet. Every creak in the walls made my skin crawl. I kept thinking of Luca, of his promise to send me back—back to the human world. And part of me hated how much I wanted that. The escape. The quiet. The safety. So when the knock came, I jumped like my bones were wired wrong.I opened the door, heart stuck in my throat—and there he was. Luca. His face as cold and unreadable as always, but his eyes... something flickered there."I'm not sending you back," he said. Just like that. No warning. No build-up. Like it was a fact carved into stone.“What?” It slipped out, weak and breathless.“I changed my mind. It’s safer if you stay. With me.”The relief hit me so fast it was almost shameful. I shouldn't have wanted to stay. Not after everything. Not with Julian still breathing the same air. But I did. I did want to stay. Not for th
Aria's POV He barged in like a storm. No knock, no warning—just fury in his eyes, in his breath, in every single step he took. I jumped up from the edge of my bed, heart slamming against my ribs like it knew something I didn’t yet.“Luca—?”“No.” His voice was stone. Cold. Final. “Pack your things.”What?“What?”“I need to send you back.” He didn’t flinch. “You and Elena. You’re leaving. Today.”My stomach dropped, heart skipped a beat. “What the hell are you talking about?”He shut the door behind him like he was sealing me in. “It’s not safe here. Julian’s made his move. You and Elena—you’re targets.”I stepped toward him, voice cracking. “You’re just going to send us away?! After everything?”“I’m not asking,” he snapped, eyes hard. “He’s with Victor. He wants the pack destroyed from the inside and you’re both leverage. He warned me. You die if I step out of line.”I couldn’t breathe. “So what—you send us away and hope he doesn’t follow?”“I’m keeping you alive,” he shouted back,
Aria's POV The day dragged. Everything moved like it was underwater—slow, muffled, distant. People talked to me, smiled at me, even asked if I wanted to spar or take a walk. I smiled back. I nodded. I lied.I was present, but I wasn’t there. I couldn’t be. Not with Julian’s words still slicing through my skull like knives.I checked in on Elena again. She was sitting up now, finally talking, eating. It warmed something in my chest, but even that couldn’t anchor me fully. Not when I knew he’d rip it all apart the second I misstepped.By late afternoon, I was walking the halls aimlessly, trying to clear the weight off my chest, when I felt it—him.Luca.He was leaning by the council corridor, arms crossed, eyes distant. But the moment he spotted me, they sharpened. And then he walked up.Slow. Measured. Watching me closely. “Hey,” he said, casual but not. “You got a minute?”I swallowed. “Yeah, of course.”We walked side by side, no destination, just movement. His shoulder brushed min
