But Amelia will be growing a lot. It's been hard for me, not to write a feisty female MC right from the start. But I wanted her to grow, and it’s happening bit by bit. Rounding the corner, I gasp at the sight in front of us. The tugging at the door gets stronger, and loud banging echoes through the entire apartment. “For fucks sake, someone open the door,” Jax calls out loudly from behind it causing me to nearly jump.Tonya jumps to her feet and rushes to the door opening it for Jax. Feeling anger and disappointment burn up in me, I turn to face him. "I'm not asking for your permission. I will train. And if you aren’t prepared to help me, I’m going to find someone who does." I stand my ground and see he’s about to blow. “Brother, she’s got a point. She did amazing today, but if she had stayed in that apartment….” Alex trails off, knowing just as well as I do, that it wouldn’t have ended well. “It won’t harm to train her. You can still try to keep her safe, but in the worst-case scenario, it would be good if we don’t have to count on her naturally being good. For days I’ve been practically locked up in this apartment. It’s been twelve days since the attack, and I’m starting to feel bored out of my mind. Jax has been busy with pack issues most of the time, totally locking me out of any of it. Ben’s mood has been up and down like a rollercoaster. In one moment he’s sitting with me and joking, trying to cheer me up. We keep talking about random things. Ben talks about all the adventures we could get into. What are you doing here?” Jax questions a little shocked, the anger from moments ago, fading away until Alex comes into sight.“Didn’t I order for you to keep her safe in the apartment?” Jax growls angrily at Alex.“Actually you ordered anyone but me. So I thought I’d take a chance. You took her as your mate, so she deserves more than being locked up the entire time and needs her mate, too. And before you fully blow, the staircase to this floor is locked, and I punched in our security code into the elevator. Waking up, I feel like I’m in heaven. Jax’s arms are still tightly wrapped around me.
