Elaras pov

The candlelight in my dorm flickered, throwing shadows that stretched too far for such a small flame.

They slowly writhed against the walls, pulling long and thin shadows, like they were arms trying to reach and grab me. I laid awake staring at the ceiling, each blink dragging me deeper into that uneasy space between sleeping and waking up.

The dreams had been coming again.. sharper, heavier. Not vague whispers anymore or mixed illusions, this time they were vivid flashes that left the taste of iron on my tongue.

Some felt real, like memories or flashbacks while others just felt really strange and scary.

This morning, I stood in the North Wing. The stone walls breathed like lungs, expanding and contracting in a rhythm too steady to be normal. The floor shifted like quicksand beneath my feet, and every step I took threatened to swallow me whole.

A voice whispered my name again and again, closer each time, until it was right inside my ear.

I felt an odd pain in my chest li

His SunshineLila POVI woke up late.Too late.“Elara?” My voice came out groggy as I sat up, rubbing my eyes.Silence answered me not Elara.I blinked, scanning the room. Her bed was neat, made perfectly as if she had slipped out hours ago. Her side of the room was always neat, almost obsessively so, while mine looked like a small hurricane had decided to crash for a weekend getaway. She was already gone.I tilted my head, not surprised but… not comfortable either. Lately, Elara had been drifting in and out of odd moods. Sometimes she’d stare into space like she was watching something I couldn’t see. Sometimes she’d wake from dreams with her necklace glowing faintly against her chest. I’d learned not to press too hard when she brushed me off with “it’s fine,” but still… she wasn’t fine. And I knew she was still feeling sad if not guilty about it hat I had told her and that was the main reason I didn’t want to tell her.I mean if she was sad about this then what would happen if I to

The Ring Kael’s POVThe corridors of the Academy always smelled faintly of old stone and secrets. This morning, it carried another scent too.. but o couldn’t quite place the smell. I didn’t need to sniff the air or ask anyone to know something was brewing. I could feel it. The way the walls seemed to hold their breath, the way the wind blew. But my attention wasn’t on the whispers threading the halls. It was on Rowan, who looked infuriatingly smug leaning against one of the arched pillars, like he’d slept perfectly fine while I’d spent the night with my thoughts clawing at the inside of my ribs.“Where the hell did you run off to last night?” I asked, arching a brow as I fell into step beside him.He smirked, pushing off the pillar lazily, his coat catching the morning light like he’d staged the entire movement for dramatic flair. “Fresh air.. why don’t tell me you missed me,” he said simply, shrugging.I snorted. “Fresh air, my ass. You disappeared in the middle of the night, and

The Dream That Wasn’t(Elara’s POV)Lila left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts at how my problems had suddenly become hers as well and dear heavens I felt so bad and guilty. One moment, I was lying in bed, staring at the faint shadows cast by the moonlight slipping through our dorm curtains. The next, I was walking over to somewhere else entirely in a bid to clear my head I think. When I got to where I was going to, the ground beneath me was not wood, not stone, but something soft and uneven, like soil dampened by rain. Mist curled at my ankles, rising in delicate threads that clung beautifully to my skin. Cold seeped through my bones, though no wind stirred around me.I turned my head to check where the cold wind was coming from, but the world was cloaked in fog. Only two figures stood clear, they were illuminated by the faint glow of the moon. Women. Both of them. One clutched her almost swollen stomach, pacing in short, jerky strides as though the weight within her was

Rowan’s POVThe night air was cooler than I expected, sharp with that crisp edge that always came right before the Blood Oath Ball season. The Academy grounds stretched wide and empty in front of me, the path lamps casting long pale beams across the cobbled walkway. Shadows clung to the hedges, and the wind stirred the leaves like whispers too low to catch. And me? I was leaning against the old iron railing near the gates like some tragic hero out of a ballad, waiting for a girl who might not even show up.If Kael could see me now, he’d never let me live it down. I knew how hard it was for me to get out of that room without raising suspicions.I glanced up at the stars, sighing with mock drama. “Rowan, you absolute fool. Look at you.. perfectly good warrior, deadly with a blade, Beta of the strongest pack in the region.. and you’re out here practicing patience like some lovesick country side farm boy.”My wolf Lior, snorted inside me. ‘You’re not fooling anyone. You definitely like h

Shadows Before the Ball(Seraphina POV)The mirror adored me tonight just like it always did…It had to.. I mean why wouldn’t it.I sat in front of it like a queen awaiting her grand coronation, every flicker of the candlelight bowed to my reflection, it’s golden flames danced across my beautifully polished vanity, painting soft halos around my crystal perfume bottles, my pretty combs, and the silk ribbons I had arrayed like trophies. My hair brush glided through my hair in long, rhythmic strokes, each one slow and deliberate, each one timed to the silent drumbeat of my heart.Perfection began here. Not in the hallways or classrooms.. Not on the ballroom floor, not beneath the chandeliers, not in Kael’s gaze. It started.. Here, in this intimate crucible of glass, with every strand of my hair glowing, and every lash curled perfectly like a little kitten, and every inch of my perfect skin coaxed into perfect flawlessness. The Blood Oath Ball that was coming up wasn’t simply an event. I

My Bubbly GirlElara POVThe dorm room was unusually quiet.Too quiet..Normally, by this time of the evening, Lila would be sprawled across her bed, humming some silly tune under her breath or chattering about the latest gossip she’d picked up from the other girls. She always had this uh … kind of spark about her, a kind of sweet yet warm, goofy energy that filled the space in this gods forsaken school and kept me from drowning in my own dark thoughts. But tonight?Something felt different.. The spark wasn’t there.I watched her from my side of the room as she sat in front of her little mirror, dragging a brush through her rainbow hair with more force than necessary. Her movements were a bit too mechanical like she had rehearsed it for a show, her face was unusually dull and blank, like she was just going through the motions trying to comport herself. Every once in a while, her eyes flicked up to the reflection staring back at her, but instead of the usual smile or silly face sh
