We both smiled lightly at each other as we pulled apart. Chloe was one of the most amazing souls that I have ever come across, and I cared for her more than I could put into words. She was my mate, though she doesn’t know about that yet. I honestly loved her so much.

I pulled her hair behind her ear and steered her back to her food, leaning closer to her ear in a bid to whisper the words, “Eat baby, I love you.”

By the way that she smiled, I could tell that her mood had been uplifted and that made me smile more. I walked over to my side of the table, and sat down, watching Chloe eat. This encouraged me to eat also and I was just so thrilled at the way we fused with each other. It was so perfect and I couldn’t help the smile that touched my lips.
