We had all been seated for the dinner. It honestly wasn't as awkward as I had imagined. Yumena's father was quite easy to talk to despite his contrasting cold exterior. The low temperatures in his skin were also the coldest I had ever encountered in a Vampire. Viktor had an intense formidable gaze that could incite fear in anyone and it didn't help that he didn't smile either. He had platinum blonde hair just like Yumena and I could see where she got her aspect of power from but she didn't seem to hold the same confidence she'd usually have in front of her father.
Having Aunt Celeste present made the affairs of the dinner much simpler. It meant that Viktor and Aunt Celeste could fill up the room with their stories of how they met and what love is like when you aren't with your pairing.
