A Mysterious Bag

After 5 hours

"Ouch!"

Skyla woke up with a pounding headache and an aching body. Her eyes opened to see a creaky ceiling fan rotating above.

The first thought that crossed her mind was: "Where am I?!" Her gaze switched from the ceiling above to her body. She was laid on a white single bed with various pipes inserted in her backhand. Her bruises were bandaged. She tried to drag her body up, but it was too painful to do so. Before her eyes could go on searching where she was, she heard a shrill voice.

"Ahh! Finally, you are awake! I thought my friend and I would have to carry you all the way to your chamber!"

Skyla found the voice to be familiar. She recognized that it was the head nurse of the nursing chamber at the Red Moon Pack.

"How did I arrive here? Who brought me here? I am sure nobody from the Red Moon Pack will ever have mercy over me. Who did it?" The questions simmering in her head gutted down when the nurse harshly pulled out the pipes inserted in her backhands.

Her harsh actions were accompanied by abrading words.

"Now get yourself moving! It's 5:45 PM already, time for us to close the nursing chamber!"

After keeping all the pipes in their respective place, the nurse got back beside the bed and saw Skyla with a fuming face. She snapped in, "The nursing chamber is open till 4! But because of you, I had to keep it open and serve useless werewolves like you for two hours and forty-five minutes extra! You better get your ass moving! Come on!"

Skyla sniffed and gulped the rising bile down her throat. She couldn't even move in the bed. Her heart ached when the nurse was so harsh on her and didn't have any mercy seeing her pathetic condition. Somehow, she managed to sit on the bed and sighed.

The head nurse was standing on top of her head not ready to move unless Skyla went out of the nursing chamber. She barked, "Get out! I can't miss my supper because of you! Quick!"

Skyla mustered some courage and placed her feet down from the bed and shoved them into her worn-out shoes. It was difficult for her to stand straight on her feet.

Hardly did she take one step that she was about to fall. The nurse took a step back and snarled, "Dare you to take my support!" Pinching her nose she continued, "I don't want your dirt or smell to stick on my nice clothes."

Skyla sighed as she took a few steps. The nurse was walking behind her urging her to hurry up. Skyla heaved, "May I know who brought me here?" Her question wasn't answered. After taking a few more steps, Skyla thought of asking it in a different way.

"Did my sister bring me here?!" The head nurse rolled her eyes and said, "Keep your mouth shut and walk fast!"

Skyla grew teary but preferred to trap her tears. Before she would make her way out, the head nurse stopped her.

"Wait! Take this bag of yours with you!" She shoved the strings of the small paper bag around Skyla's wrist. Skyla wondered what was inside it. She thought of asking but preferred to keep mum because the head nurse was in no way going to reply to her.

—------

The doors of Kayla's chamber opened and she stepped out. Kayla was dressed up in one of the finest and most expensive purple-colored bodycon dresses of knee length. Her feet were encased in a pair of black stilettos. Golden dangles hung down her ears. Her face was crafted with makeup that enhanced her beauty. She was carrying her cell phone with her.

She hurriedly walked up to the right wing and knocked on the first door. The knock went unanswered. She knocked again, calling out at the same time, "Lucy, Lucy, are you there?!"

She proceeded to the chamber beside Lucy's and knocked, "Alice, come on hurry up! We are getting late for supper!" But nobody answered. She grabbed the knob and opened the doors to find Alice's chamber empty.

Kayla was perplexed seeing this.

She said to herself, "Lately, we have been going together for supper, but they left already!"

Marching out of Alice's chamber, she closed the doors behind her and said in a gloomy tone, "If they are not here, Whitney might also have left for supper. They left me!"

Her one hand went to grab the golden chain around her neck and she mumbled, appearing a bit tense, "Don't tell me they are back to ignoring me because I didn't participate in that egg fight!"

She left the chain and made a tsk sound as she walked towards the stairs and said, "It took so long for me to build a good image in front of them. All those efforts got wasted just because I didn't hit Skyla?! No, I can't live like Skyla. I need to find them and fix this, show them that I am just like them and become a part of their elite gang and live a perfect life!" With that, Kayla stormed down the staircase.

As Kayla was walking downstairs, she saw the dining chamber buzzing with the werewolves. Everything was so bright right from the lights to the werewolves. The aroma of the tasty food hit Kayla's nose making her mouth watery. She reached the bottom of the stairs. Spinning her head in all directions, her maroon eyes scanned the dining chamber in search of the elite gang members.

"Alice, there she is!" Kayla's eyes shingled on spotting her. She walked towards Alice. She greeted her, "Hey Alice!"

Alice was busy with her own set of friends. She did find Kayla standing beside her from the corner of her eye, but ignored her and continued gossiping with her friends. Kayla attempted to strike up a conversation again.

"Alice, I really like your outfit!" Alice stopped her chatting. She scoffed, "Come on she-wolves, let's talk somewhere else. Someone is aching my ass!" Alice didn't even spare a glance at Kayla and left.

Kayla's bright face faded. She thought, "Oh Goddess! If this is how Alice is treating me, Whitney is definitely going to beat me up like Skyla! How do I handle this mess?!"
