On getting to my room, I pushed the door open and walked in, slamming it behind me.

The second my door slammed shut behind me, I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding.

I stood there, back against the wood, head tilted up toward the ceiling like I was praying—but to who? The Moon Goddess? The ghosts in the cemetery? The monsters in the water? Myself?

Yeah, no one was answering tonight.

It wasn't even up to a goddamn day after I and Kai officially sealed this deal and he was already wanting to announce to the entire pack.

I mean, I wanted that but isn't it too sudden...for..?

My boots hit the floor one by one as I kicked them off, then I stalked across the room and collapsed face first onto the bed.

Everything was too much, Kai’s eyes, that grave, Bria’s stupid voice and now this announcement. It all spun inside my chest like a damn tornado.

And yeah, maybe I should’ve kept walking. Maybe I should’ve pretended I didn’t hear her.
