They just finished their conversation, and Faiz had already made her way between them, asking Edmund if he was the former employer Amelia talked of.

Seeing how close she was standing with Amelia, Edmund knitted his brows, ready to push her away and take control of Amelia. It was the first time he felt this—the feeling of separating her from other men and only having her by his side.
