I look away, attempting to mask my face with the open book, unmistakably not the absolute disguise but for now, it will do.

"Hey (whispers), isn't he cute? I wish I wasn't sitting next to someone already!"

Seriously? These girls giggle too loudly, it's hurting my ears!

I ignore the rambunctious girls and plan my next move, should I just act like I never met him or that his mistaken me for someone else if he does come and talk to me? I mean I don't think it's impossible I did look quite different than my usual self that day.

As I submerge deep within my thoughts I took notice that I was being watched, I look up to where I felt the stares coming from.

Umm, I think our eyes met for a brief moment.

Everyone was busy talking about Jay when Mrs interrupted the chaos asking Jay to introduce himself...

Jay nods and starts speaking...

"Hey guys, I'm Jay and as you already know I'm new, so I hope we can all get along!"

The whole class resumes chatting over the new guy but it soon goes quiet once again as Mrs gestures Jay to sit.

I couldn't care less, so I started to doodle on my notebook but I felt a shadow approach me as I gulped inside my dry throat.

"Hey! Looks like we meet again, what a coincidence!"

I wish I could puke right now, I really do! Coincidence? More like a curse to me!

"Haha, yeah."

I look away after forcing a smile.

TIME SKIP-AFTER SCHOOL

Thankfully, all the lessons ended quickly and every time Jay tried to converse with me, I ignored him. I already have enough problems that I'm having to deal with. I don't have time to babysit a noisy kid.

I wait for Lauren outside the science department building, I know it sounds weird knowing the type of person Lauren is, but she's currently studying to become a scientist! I'm so proud of my girl! 

She has continuously been one of the smartest people I ever came across, and on top of that, she's always cheerful and considerate basically gifted in everything aside cooking.

She's a good eater though!

As I patiently wait, I get a call from Lauren.

"Hel..."

I get cut by Lauren's agitated voice.

"Hey, my love, I'm so sorry but I can't go home with you today, the science teacher wants to keep me behind for a project, I'm really, extremely sorry! I will buy you, sweets, tomorrow, okay?"

"Haha, ok, don't worry and don't forget your promise. Love ya!"

"Ok then see you tomorrow, love ya, too!"

Oh well, she's a hardworking student. Guess I should go home and work as well.

I step outside the school and calmly take my leave as I felt the cold breeze on my neck when someone abruptly grabs my wrist; before I could look back, my legs start moving forward.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!"

"Taking you on a date!"

"Ok...wait, what?"

"Haha, your funny!"

I will kick you where the sun never shines kid, then tell me if I'm funny or not!

TIME SKIP-6 MINUTES LATER

"Ok, we're here!"

I look at my familiar surroundings, so all this anticipation and we're inside my favourite cafe'?

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah!" 

"I'm sorry but that smile doesn't work on me!"

"Huh, what?"

He questions confused and I shake my head signalling him to shut up,

We both sit after ordering and he starts talking about himself.

"Yh, so, I have a brother, and my dad well his not with us anymore, so the only ones supporting our family is my beautiful mom and caring brother..."

I just nod as I take a sip of my delicious hot chocolate! How much have I missed this heavenly taste!

"...and I don't really have any friends since I'm new to this school!"

Is that so, because it doesn't seem that way to me; doesn't matter wherever he goes, he has a crowd of people following him.

I continue drinking as he tells me his likes, dislikes, hobbies and so much more information that I was too tired to intake.

After we finish eating he drags me to a gaming centre. I quietly follow him, embarrassed, not being used to this unfamiliar place.

TIME SKIP-4 HOURS LATER

I've never been this late going home on a weekday but since I had so much fun it was worth it.

Jay volunteers to drop me home and we walk side by side while talking about food. I think I don't hate him as much as before.

Upon reaching my house, we both state farewell as I watch him leave...

...I take out my key and open the front door.

Something feels off.

I gently close the door behind me and start taking my shoes off when I look around and see the kitchen door open, I wonder what's for dinner?

"Hi, your home late today!"
