Mag-log inTaylor’s pov
A loud knock woke me up from my sleep. The door opened before I could respond. Simon walked into my room with a cup of coffee in his hand.
“Hey” he said, sitting next to me on the bed.
“Hey” I responded in a low voice,
“It's been 5 days Taylor, you will die if you continue being like this, please eat something” he said. I shook my head, tears falling down my cheeks.
“I don't want to live, not without him” I said with a sign., It was so hard not breaking down.
“Kevin was my best friend. I understand exactly how you are feeling, but your life doesn't have to end just because he is gone. We need to keep living, it's what he would have wanted” Simon’s words didn't make me feel any better. How would I continue to live if the most important person in my life was gone? A part of me died alongside him. I will never be okay again.
“You know he didn't kill himself, right? The police said he killed himself but we both knew Kelvin, there is just no way” I said in a heavy voice. Kelvin had been looking forward to our wedding. We talked for hours the day before the wedding, talked about how many kids we wanted and how we would go about doing things. There was no way he killed himself.
“There was no other fingerprint on that knife except his and yours. The stab wound indicated it was self-inflicted. I am sorry Taylor, I know…” I stood up, stopping him from saying anything more.
“Can you even hear yourself? Give me one damn reason why Kelvin would kill himself, just one!” I yelled. When Simon didn't respond, I let out a laugh
“There was no way he would kill himself. Someone killed him and the police didn't do anything. I won't sit around and do nothing. I will get justice for him, I will do everything in my power to find out who did this!” I thought Simon would be the most understanding, Kelvin was his best friend, he knew him better than any other person and yet here he was saying this crap.
“Taylor” Becky peeped into the room holding my phone which was ringing.
“Your Dad is calling” she said. I composed myself and answered the call.
“Baby, I heard what happened” he began, making me roll my eyes.
“Don't Dad. First, you didn't show up at my wedding, and then I am sure you sure as hell know someone killed Kelvin. Do you know how broken I am? Probably not. I am losing my mind, Dad, and it took you what?, Five days to call me.” I was much more upset than I wanted to,
Becky squeezed my hand in comfort.
“Calm down baby” she whispered. I let out a deep sign
“I am calling to offer my help”. Dad said
“With what exactly?” I asked. This was one of the reasons why I hated my Dad. He knew he was wrong, but he would never apologize.
“I didn't like Kelvin and to be honest, I am glad he died” he said, making me cuss at him.
“Did you call just to make me more upset? I am hanging up”, I warned.
“Don't hang up” he said with a sign,
“I hired the best detective in London to help you find your closure” he said. His words actually made me surprised.
“You don't think Kelvin killed himself?” I asked him in disbelief.
“He did not. Someone murdered him. Thankfully, this won't bring him back, but I know you will feel better when you find the person who killed him” Dad had a bad way with words, but I wasn't expecting him to agree with me this once. It made me feel like I wasn't crazy when I continuously said Kelvin didn't kill himself.
“When does he arrive?” I asked.
“Probably by tomorrow morning. And honey, I know you are mad at me, but I will make it up to you, take you on a little trip just the two of us” he suggested, making me laugh.
“You can take your little wife, she loves trips, remember?!” I exclaimed and hung up the call before I could hear another word from him.
“See, even Dad thinks the same about this. I am sure Kelvin is turning right now Simon, you are such a friend” I commented,
“Don't take it out on him” Becky said, making me turn to face her.
“Well, who do I take it out on then?” I asked and went straight to the bathroom,
I knew I was being impossible but I was losing it. I could see myself going crazy each passing moment. I took a long shower. When I went back to my bedroom, Becky was there. She brought some food for me.
“You are eating, am not getting a no from you” she said. I sat next to her and began to eat.
“That went easier than I imagined” she said. I smiled at her.
“Thank you for taking care of me. This is hard for me, but I am glad I have you and Simon around” I said. Neither her nor Simon had left my side since the day Kelvin died. It's times like this that I realized I had good friends who loved and cared about me, unlike my own father.
“You don't have to thank me. We love you and want to see you better”, Becky responded. I briefly hugged her before going back to my food,
“A detective is coming tomorrow morning. Dad hired the best”, I told her. My father and I have never been close, but anything money could buy, he made sure I had it. If he said the detective was the best one, I sure knew he was.
“That's good. We need to get to the bottom of all this” Becky said, Despite what everyone said, she was the only other person who didn't think Kelvin killed himself
“Yeah, I swear I will kill the person myself when we catch him” I commented.
“And I will be doing that alongside you so we can get locked up together” Becky replied with a laugh. I joined in too,
“Gosh, it feels like forever since I last saw you smile” she commented.
“I love you”, I said, blowing her a kiss. She pretended to grasp it with her hand and pressed it to her lips, making us both burst out laughing…
Taylor's POVThe courtroom was silent as the judge turned to the members of the jury. Lucas and I exchanged looks, a bit scared things would go South. The judge finally stood up. final verdict will be next week. Court dismissed,” he said as he walked away. I let out a sigh of relief. That was scary. Lucas walked over to me and held my hand, leading me out. Rose quickly caught up with us and surprisingly hugged me instead of Lucas, whom even now I didn't know how he had managed to pull this off.“That was wonderful; you are the best,” Rose praised me; however, I felt horrible inwardly. We had done so much to ensure Rose wasn't found guilty. Before we walked out of the courtroom, the general walked over to us, giving us a deadly look.“Do not start a fire you won't be able to finish,” he warned. We didn't respond to him and watched as he walked away. I found myself suddenly feeling dizzy. Lucas noticed this and made my head rest on his shoulder as he held me by my waist. you okay?” Rose
Cara's POVWhen Simon woke up, he found himself tied to the bed with me sitting next to him cleaning his wound and putting a bandage on his forehead. “You hit me,” he said, his expression of pain as he tried to sit up, his eyes widened. “You tied me,” he added. “I'm sorry, I just don't want you to leave,” I said with a sigh. “Untie me right now!” He yelled, but I stood up, ignoring him. I put the first kit back into the bathroom, taking a moment to look at myself in the mirror. What was I doing? I was losing my mind, tiring Simon, and hitting me. Would he forgive me for this? I wasn't thinking when I did it and only acted out of instinct.I let out a deep breath, assuring myself everything was going to be okay. Surely it was the pregnancy hormones that made me do this; Simon would understand.I went back to the bedroom. “Cara, untie me,” Simon spoke softly. It was challenging to tell whether he was upset or not. Sorry. I didn't mean to hit you,” I said.“I know, now untie me,” he said
Cara's POVI watched as Ben drove off from the mansion with some of Donald’s men with a small smile.I was standing by the window side in my room and quickly made a call to Simon. I wasn't scared to use my phone; for all I knew, Donald would never go through the CCTV footage in case he didn't make it.Simon didn't answer my call, which made me anxious wondering about his current mood; after what happened with Ben, I wouldn't be surprised if he went back. I hoped he did not, though, and even if he did at this point, I was ready to follow him back. Just a few days of a normal life, a few days of being happy, is what I wanted, and I knew I wasn't likely going to get this opportunity again once Donald returned.“Damn it!” I yelled, grabbing my car keys. I should have waited for a few minutes or an hour in case Ben didn't leave, but I honestly didn't care. I drove back to the hotel trying to call Simon all the way. When I reached the hotel and asked if the person in the room had left, I was
Rose’s POV“Do you know who killed Kelvin?” I asked my Dad as he sat across me with a girl twice my age massaging his shoulder, he was moaning softly his eyes closed“Why are we having this conversation right now?” He asked his eyes still closed“Because am curious to know now that Vincent Vincenzo is dead. It doesn't make sense that the Vincenzo brothers would die one after another in the space of a few weeks” I stated. When I found out Kelvin was killed the day he was planning to marry his other woman whom I knew was Donald Dante's daughter, I was so angry by his betrayal that the only thing that bothered was that he didn't die by my hand but with the recent turn of events, I was curious to know“Well, things are never really Fair” Dad commented, he wasn't taking this conversation as serious as I wanted him to“Dad, can you be serious for once?, You cut my hand and yet I decided to forgive you and even talk to you, the least you could do is take me serious” I complained,“You are sp
Taylor's POVDad was transferred to a ward room, the operation was a success however, he had lost a lot of blood and needed a blood transfusion but the hospital didn't have his blood type“Are you telling me this entire hospital doesn't have his blood type?” Lucas asked after the doctor told us the news, I couldn't talk because I was afraid of what I would say especially since Rose was present“Am sorry Sir but we have contacted the other hospitals for the blood type and still waiting for their reply” the doctor said“Take mine” I said my voice sounding lower“What?, No” Lucas said trying to stop me using eye contact“It's not worth it. Let him die” Rose commented, it took everything in me not to jump at her, did she have to be this heartless“He saved my life. If it wasn't for him, I would be in his condition right now” I said trying to make my words as light as possible“And so?, That's just fate that he found himself at your hotel during the time someone wanted to attack you, you a
Cara's POVSimon opened the hotel room door only to be met by Ben holding a gun as well, the two men pointed their guns at each other as Ben entered the room, he briefly looked my way a look of disappointment visible on his face“You followed me?” I asked furiously“Really Cara?, I find you with this good for nothing boy and that's the first thing you say?” He asked, what exactly did he expect me to say?, All I wanted was some privacy was that too much to ask“You are Ben?” Simon asked lowering his gun but Ben still had his gun pointed at him“What are you doing here with Cara?” Ben questioned“Why don't you ask her yourself?” Simon asked with a laugh, Ben moved his gun until it rested on Simon’s forehead“Talk to me with respect, I can blow out your brains right now” he warned, I stood in front of him blocking him from Simon“Ben, put down the gun” I said to him“So this is your secret?” He asked“It's not what you think” I tried to explain but realized I was caught red handed, there
