Becky's POV

I watched as Taylor fell asleep. I tucked her in and kissed her hair,

She has been through so much this past week. I have always known Taylor to be strong, but this week, I saw her break apart,

She was hurting, and I kept wishing there was something I could do to make her feel better. I was torn watching her cry herself to sleep every night. I tried my best to make her feel better, but nothing seemed to work. I was glad she was now okay and even agreed to eat. I switched off her bulb and left her room,

I found Simon in the living room watching a movie,

“Is she asleep?” He asked. I nodded

“Yes, she is getting better. I mean she agreed to eat, and we joked about a few things”, I told him. Simon had been nothing but a good friend. He moved in with us briefly just to make sure Taylor was okay. He was such a selfless person. That's why I had this crazy crush on him.

“I'm glad she is getting better” he said.

“Yeah me too. Her Dad hired probably the world’s best detective, so I am sure we are going to know who killed Kelvin” I said. Simon’s expression suddenly changed.

“You know Kelvin might have actually killed himself, right?” He asked. I shook my head in disagreement.

“He was excited about marrying Taylor, there is no way he could have done it” I said,

“Well, he was going through a hard time and tried his best to pretend to be okay in front of Taylor because he didn't want to worry her. I have known Kelvin for a long time, he has tried to do this before”, Simon explained, making me surprised.

“Why was he depressed?” I asked. As far as I remember, Kelvin was always making jokes, laughing. If he was going through something, perhaps there was a chance that maybe he really did it.

“He never told me, I just knew he was going through something”, Simon responded. I was thoughtful for a while

“Well, the detective will do his job and let's just wait it out and see what he discovers” I commented.

“I think this whole detective thing is unnecessary. Is there a way to talk Taylor out of it? I mean she won't move on if she doesn't put an end to this” he said, as much as I would love to, there was no way Taylor would listen to me, she was one of the most stubborn people I knew. She wouldn't rest until she got her closure.

“You know there is no way she will listen to me. Once the detective proves this was suicide, she will let this go”, I said. “This is depressing. What are you watching?” I asked, changing the topic,

“Just this silly movie. Want to join?” He asked. I nodded and laid my head on his lap and stared at the t.v. 

“Any plans for the weekend?” I asked, as much as I wanted something to start between me and Simon, I knew he friend zoned me to the point that he treated me like his sister or buddy. There I was wishing he would just suddenly look down at my face and kiss my lips, but that would never happen. Taylor had advised me to go for it and tell him straight forward how I felt about him, but I was scared, what if that ruined the good relationship we already shared. I couldn't let my feelings destroy this bond we had.

“I am leaving town. Do you want to take me out?” He asked.

“Yeah, I figured we could really do with a night out drinking” I said. I wanted to find out where he was going but didn't want to sound snoopy.

“You will have to go without me this time. Who knows, you might even find yourself a man, I wanna dance at your wedding” he jokely said. I smiled, screaming ‘i want you' inwardly.

The next morning, I woke up to the doorbell ringing,

I went downstairs but found Taylor already at the door,

“You are up early” I said. She was dressed and actually looked like her usual self, something I hadn't seen in days,

“Come in”, Taylor said, moving away from the door. I stared in awe at what I would say was the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on,

I found myself unable to move or say anything. The man looked towards me, making me almost run back to my room. I probably look like a mad woman right now.

“Hey” he waved at me. I composed myself and waved back,

“Jesus” I silently mouthed as I rushed to my room to take a shower.

When I went downstairs again, looking more presentable this time, I found Taylor alone.

“That was the detective?” I asked. She nodded

“Are you kidding me? He is hot, oh Gosh” Taylor laughed.

“Don't tell me you are over Simon because of that detective” she commented.

“I love Simon but that man, if he did as little as looked at me, Simon would be history” I said, making Taylor laugh even more. Maybe I was exaggerating a little, but he was a fine man.

“Where did he go?” I asked.

“He went to his hotel to get settled in, he will be back to ask us a few questions” she said.

“Then I had better start preparing myself. I need to look my best when he comes back”, I said as I stood up.

“Seriously, Simon is going to be so disappointed”, Taylor said.

“Speaking of him, where is he?” I asked. Simon was an early riser, he should be up by now.

“He went back to his place today, he says he needs to get back to work, which also brings me to this”. Taylor stood up holding my hands in hers.

“Thank you so much for taking care of me, but I am fine now and don't mind you going back to your place” she said. I jokingly hit her shoulder.

“And leave that handsome stranger all to you, I don't think so” I jokingly said,

“He isn't that hot, but if you are staying for him, then I don't mind” Taylor said with a grin. Taylor's Dad is crazy rich and, as a result, Taylor is exposed. She has seen the best things in life, and she has dated famous people and the most handsome men ever, unlike me, who had almost zero experience in that area…
