CHAPTER ~ 06 ~ STILL THE SAME.

Keith thought get broken when someone knocked on his door. He asked the person to come in and it's Kenny. The friend who died because of him years ago. Keith stood in calm and smiled at him.

"You know you don't have to knock?" Keith said with a smile and moved towards Kenny to hug him when Kenny stopped him.

"Keith, are you sure about the marriage? I thought you are searching Julie to marry her. And you like her." Kenny said while pouring his tea and sat in front of Keith with a confused look.

"I don't like her." Keith said as confused as Kenny and continued, "You only said she maybe pregnant with my child because of that night and I should find her and do the right thing. But she isn't pregnant and I like Gefany. I don't love her but she will make the perfect daughter in law for my daughter being equal in everything."

"So I didn't make a good friend being not equal in everything." Kenny asked making Keith frowned in confusion.

"Kenny you are my friend and a brother. I took over your job to always remember. A part of me will never forgive myself for not saving you that night. You were my everything and you are asking if you didn't make a good friend? Dude! You were more than a friend to me." Keith said getting up and moving towards Kenny and tried to hold.

"Yes Keith I was more than a friend to you. Not anymore. I am not around and you can't keep me with you. Forget me and move on, Keith. You don't have to be guilty for the night." Keith's eyes welled up just when someone actually opened the door and face was shocked as salty drops run down his cheeks, the person at fed door stood in surprise.

"What are you doing here/What happened to you?" Keith and the person asked at the same time.

"You asked me to return." the person said while Kieth looked away to wipe his tears. Turning back after composing himself he said, "Julie, I said what I said that doesn't mean you should come here. And you didn't knock, I hate when people didn't knock."

"I am sorry." Julie said lowering her head.

"Stefan is my personal assistant. He takes care of everything. I guess you must have met him after signing the contract. He will tell you where you are staying and other details." Keith said and turned his back in a dismissing way indirectly telling Julie to get out from there.

"How is your daughter?" Stefan asked as soon as he saw Julie coming out of his boss's room, surprising Julie.

"Keith doesn't seems to care but you are caring for the baby." Julie said in wonder and smiled at him, she continued, "She is improving. I have sent my friend John and a woman who is like a mother to me, Grandma Mary with her to Germany for the treatment. They both will take care of my daughter." Julie said

"I will pray for her." Stefan said while Julie felt touched.

They are about to talk about the work when Stefan's phone started ringing.

"Boss is calling. I will come now." he said left from there quickly and comes to meet Keith.

"So what is she playing again?" Keith asked while Stefan gave him a 'are you for real' kinda look.

"Really Keith? You still believe she doesn't have a child and all that? Maybe your private investigator didn't do his job well." Stefan said supporting Keith and failed to notice Keith's face turning red in anger.

"You are supporting her?" Keith asked feeling jealous slightly as after Kenny all he have is Stefan and cannot lose him to someone else.

"I am sorry. She looks too sweet and innocent that I can't believe she may faked her feelings and tried to trap you." he said while Keith felt his heart beat rising high. He also believe she is a sweet girl.

"Everything had changed after Kenny's death. If only I know who is it." Stefan said as angry rises within him and tears bulit in his eyes ready to spill out as he remembers Kenny and the past memories.

"It's still the same. Everything is still the same and will go back to same. I will revenge Kenny's death and after washing out all the criminals from this city I will leave the mafia world. We will go back to how those days used to be." Keith said while Stefan let out a sarcastic laugh.

"But Kenny will never return." and even though he looked like he had no emotions, Keith's heart broke hearing it.

"It's still the same. It will be." Keith whispered to himself to not let his emotions over again and closes his eyes tired.

Stefan returned to see Julie who is sitting on the floor and crying.

"What happened?" he asked as she cried holding his hands.

"I just got April's reports." she said and Stefan looked confused.

"What happened? Is she alright? Money is not a problem, you know? You are getting some good amount for your work." Stefan said unsure on what to say as he can't see the poor girl suffering but he also doesn't want to support her when his boss and friend doesn't believe her.

"Everything changed. Nothing is still the same. It will never be."
