Chapter Nineteen: Queen Mother

EMILY'S POV

“Emily lookout!” he shouted, I wasn't fast enough. When I finally did, the arrow had gotten to me already. I stared, waiting for it to hit me but at the last minute, he grabbed me and flung me out of the way.

The arrow tore into Tristan's arm, blood spilling on me as well. We both landed on the floor.

Tristan grew his claws immediately, his eyes searching for the perpetrator.

We could hear the sound of men on foot approaching, even I became alert as well.

The bushes before us began to shake and the soldier leaped out of it immediately. All draped in the color red and sticking out long fangs. The instant they saw Tristan, they stopped and bowed.

I was surprised but he did not move at all.

One of the guards rushed out and embraced him. They made familiar pats on the back and then the wolf soldier said.

“Sir Tristan please allow us to escort you and have your hand healed. We are deeply sorry for the wounds.”
