Selene never wanted a mate, especially not him. Born an outcast, she had spent her life hiding her true identity, surviving as a rogue, and staying far away from the pack politics that had once destroyed her family. But fate had other plans. She finds herself bound to the ruthless Alpha of the Shadowfang Pack, Killian Wolfe. Killian was a monster feared by all. Bound to a prophecy that doomed him to darkness, he had rejected every mate chosen by the Moon Goddess, knowing that anyone bonded to him would share his curse. But when Selene crashes into his territory, carrying secrets that could break or complete his fate, he finds himself unable to let her go. She belonged to him. Even if claiming her meant his own destruction.

"She's the child of prophecy, Evelyn. You can't change that" The red haired prophetess foretold, her deep blue eyes gleaming in the dark as she stared at the frail looking silver haired child in my arms.
Fear seeped through my bones as words failed me. My child a child of prophecy?
No way!
"I can't let her carry the burden of the cursed land" I yelled without thinking. "My child can't go through the same pain her father faced with our race."
The prophetess chuckled. "You don't have a choice, Evelyn. You can't change the words of the moon goddess. Selene's blood will either end the cursed cycle of the Forsaken Alpha or doom the werewolf race forever."
"Then let everyone be damned" I fired, breathing heavily. "I refused to let my child go."
"You don't have to. One way or the other, she'll be made to face her destiny on her own" The prophetess countered firmly.
The little child in my arms suddenly let out a shrill cry like she understood the words of the prophetess.
Tears streamed down my face and fell on hers. She looked so much like him; the man I fought myself so hard to let go for the sake of our child.
What would have been his decision if he was in my shoes?
He probably would have.....
Never!!!
I could feel the intense gaze of the prophetess on me, her red hair moving with the cold wind.
Instantly, I felt a droplet of water on my face. My head snapped up to see the clouds become stormy.
It was about to rain.
Sparing the prophetess one last glance, I turned swiftly and dashed out of the sacred cave with no destination in mind.
The only thoughts I had was to get my daughter to a safe place. Every cry she made sent a sharp knife down my throat, making it seem like our minds weren't in sync. It felt like a rebellion. Too bad the only thing I cared about was her safety.
I kept on running, refusing dwell on the source of my newfound strength. Unexpectedly, The rain ceased like it heeded to my daughter's cry. I spotted a fig tree, and sat underneath it for a short nap.
Unfortunately, nightmares wouldn't permit me. I didn't feel safe anymore. I rose up with much reluctance, and continued the journey.
Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, my heavy eyes zoomed in on a large gate made of metal, and covered with fogs. I slowed down, my heart drumming hard against my chest.
I summoned courage to venture into the land. The fog around faded away as I went further. The wolves walking around were busy going about their businesses. Surprisingly, no one seemed to care about me or the child in my arms.
Nevertheless, I needed clarifications. I stopped a she-wolf who was quick to snarl at me. Her short disheveled black hair and dull green eyes made her look like one of the witches. Her lean body worsened her appearance, but I'd already stopped her.
The worse that I feared was getting killed and leaving my child to be fed upon by rogues.
Yes, it was clear they were all rogues.
"What do you want?!" She queried.
I flinched, but quickly composed myself. "Where is this place?" I questioned cautiously.
A shrill laughter escaped her lips, her sharp fangs visible. She bent forward and clutched her stomach, wiping the tears of mirth away from her eyes.
A mix of confusion and fear clouded my heart. "What's wrong?" I asked, my voice barely audible.
Her laughter ceased, her eyes filled with mockery.
"Are you dumb? Who knows nothing about The Cursed Land but still lives in it?" She fired, and I froze in despair.
The Cursed Land???
I wasn't happy about it, but I had no choice. I was forced to raise my daughter among the rogues while ensuring our safety. No one knew who I was or where I had come from, and no one bothered asking.
I had a feeling our invisible life wasn't going to last for long, but I kept on going, teaching my child to adapt to the wicked world.
"The rogues will always remain our enemies no matter what" I kept saying everytime I got the opportunity.
Eighteen years later, my fear became a reality. We got attacked by rogues. For the first time in years, I got overpowered. Our abode got burnt down.
"Run, Selene" I yelled admist the fire, tears trickling down my face as I endured the pains. "Run and never look back!"
Lucian's POV.“What?” I growled.I grabbed a wine glass on the table and hurled it across the room. It struck the maid squarely before clattering to the ground, but I didn’t care. My blood was boiling too hot to care.“What do you mean she’s gone?” I roared. The maid trembled, her hands pressed against her bleeding arm where the glass had cut her. “Sh-she’s nowhere to be seen, my lord. She wasn’t in her room… she’s nowhere in the house.”“Nowhere to be seen?” My voice cracked with fury. “She was in her room! I left for a few hours, just a few hours! And I return to hear this?” My chest heaved, my vision narrowing as rage swallowed me whole.Behind me, Jeremy’s voice came cautiously. “My lord, I think you should calm down. Maybe she went out for a bit—”“Calm down?” I snapped. “It’s the next day, Jeremy. The next damn day! She never leaves without telling me. She isn’t even allowed outside these walls.”Jeremy swallowed, his face paling. “Then… somebody took her.” My hands curled int
Selene's POV“I got help,” Ronan said.My brows furrowed as I leaned forward. “From who?” I asked.“From Carmen,” Ronan replied. My heart skipped. Carmen? My voice shook as I whispered. “Carmen? How?”Killian looked up at him, and cut in before I could say more. “How do you mean from Carmen”Ronan exhaled, his eyes flicking between us. “Well, while you both were away, we thought to take off the stress from your hands, and so I spoke with Carmen. And somehow, she was able to cast a spell that brainwashed your mother into coming with us and sneaking quietly. It wasn’t something easy,” he said, his expression heavy, as though remembering every detail. “But with a few guards, we were able to do it.”Before I could even process his words, Killian rose up and hugged Ronan, patting his back. “Thank you so much.”Ronan smiled faintly. “Anything for my Alpha and Luna.” Then his gaze softened as he looked at me.I felt my lips tremble before a small smile found its way through. “Thank you so mu
Killian's POV“Hey,” I whispered softly, steadying Selene as she staggered beside me. Her grip on my hand trembled, her wide eyes fixed on the woman sitting at the far end of the court. The moment I followed her gaze, I understood. The resemblance was undeniable. My chest tightened. I tightened my hold on Selene’s hand, guiding her forward step by step. She was still in a daze.My eyes flicked toward Ronan, standing tall beside the chair. “You managed to get her?” I asked.Ronan gave a firm nod. “Yes.”I let out a slow breath, my attention shifting back to Selene just as she slipped free from my hold and dropped to her knees in front of the woman.“Mom!” her voice cracked, tears shining at the corners of her eyes. I almost believed this reunion would bring her peace. She wrapped her arms tightly around the woman. But then, the woman stiffened and shoved her back. “Who are you?”Selene froze, her tearful smile faltering. And I stood there, caught between wanting to pull her back into m
Selene's POV“Kilian!” I squeaked. In an instant, his hand shot out, pressing over mine. His strength and skill steered the horse away just in time, narrowly avoiding a collision. My heart hammered as we came to a slow stop, Kilian’s hand was still holding mine, keeping the reins steady.I exhaled shakily, my cheeks flushed from fear and adrenaline. “I—I didn’t even see the tree…” I whispered, still trembling slightly.Kilian chuckled softly. “It’s alright,” he said. “I’ve got you. That’s why I’m here.”Relief washed over me, and despite the scare, I couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped me. “Thank you,” I murmured, turning slightly to glance at him. “For saving us.”“You’re welcome my love,” he whispered back. “Shall we go back?” he asked.I hesitated for a second, then looked up to meet his encouraging gaze. “You want me to still ride it back?” I asked softly. He smiled. “Mm-hmm, I trust you.”With that, I gently nudged the horse forward, feeling it respond beneath me. Kilian’s han
Selene's POV.“Killian please,” I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. His arms tightened around me instantly, pulling closer in his embrace. The sound of his uneven heartbeat thundered under my cheek. He was terrified, and the truth was that I was too. My body trembled, not only from fear but from the weight of everything pressing down on us. Still, despite it all, there was this faith inside me that he wouldn't let me die.“Selene…” His voice cracked. “I’m just scared. What if…what if I can’t control myself? What if I…”“Killian.” I lifted my head before he could finish, cutting him off. His eyes flickered down at me. I held that gaze. “I trust you. And you have to trust yourself too.”He opened his mouth, ready to argue, but I didn’t give him the chance. “Mark me.”I whispered the words that had been clawing their way up my throat. For a second, the whole world seemed to stop. Killian’s eyes widened, flashing with shock and disbelief.“Yes,” I breathed, leaning into him. “I
Valerie's POVThere was no point denying it. Everything was over. Killian didn’t want me. Not now, not ever. For years, I had fooled myself. I had convinced myself that maybe, he would see me the way I saw him. But he never softened. He never looked at me like that. He never wanted me.And what I couldn’t do in years, Selene had done it in months. She had stolen everything I’d ever wanted, everything I had dreamed of.There was no point. No point in fighting, no point in hoping. I moved lazily, into the coven as there was nothing left to fight for. There was no turning back now.Killian was my life, he always had been. And if he wasn’t going to be with me… then what was the use of being in this world at all?“Valerie, what the hell are you doing here?”My mother’s voice broke my train of thoughts, dragging me back to the present.I stared at my mother, Aria, pain and frustration twisting inside of me.“Mother,” I said softly, my voice trembling. “I’m back. I’m not going back. Killian
