LOGINKillian's POV
I placed my fingers on her neck to check her pulse. There was a slight heartbeat. "Hey, who's there?!!!!" I roared abruptly, my lungs threatening to burst. "Guards!!!" Almost immediately, four guards burst in, looking terrified. "Lord Wolfe, you called," They stated in unison, bowing their heads in fear. I was livid. "Are you blind?!" I barked. "How come you didn't know about this?" They all shivered in fear. Unfortunately, their death had been sealed. I stood up with her cold body in my arms. "Go wait for me at the inner court," I ordered and walked past them. I got out of the cell. I took off at full speed, refusing to stop until I got to the doctor's quarters. The fear of unleashing the curse had stopped me from shifting, or it would have been faster. A she-wolf approached me. "My Lord, you..."Where's Javier?" I questioned fiercely, cutting her off. "I need him now!" She trembled in fear. "He's currently attending to an injured pup....." I glared hard at her. I didn't need to say a word before she realized her mistake. Instantly, she turned and ran into a room. Soon enough, she came back with a lanky blonde-haired man with blue eyes behind a pair of glasses. He rushed up to me, his eyes fixed on the woman in my arms. "Prepare a room!" He yelled, attempting to take her from my arms. I snarled, scaring him off. Realizing my mistake, I pushed her into his arms. Her blood stained his white coat. She was rushed into a room. I intended on following them, but Javier had the guts to slam the door in my face. I could feel the pain in the mate bond, but it wasn't serious because I was naturally immune to pain. I paced back and forth, trying to understand why I hadn't left her to die. I guessed I did that because of the conclusion Ronan and I came to, or so I thought to convince myself. "Lord Wolfe!" Called a familiar voice, and I halted my steps. Ronan appeared before me with a frown on his face. "I met the guards you sent to the inner court, and I got the news. I was going to update you on the task you assigned to me, " He revealed, frowning deeply. "Who could have tried to kill her in her cell?" My mind went back to the injury on her chest. I didn't want to believe it, but the traces of spells showed that it was the handiwork of a witch. "Valerie!" I declared coldly. "What?!" Ronan exclaimed in shock. "Why would she try to kill her?" I snorted. "Why are you acting ignorant? We both know what she wants." Ronan sighed. "I thought she already came back to her senses. A wolf and a witch just can't be together. What do you plan to do to her? "Torture her" I replied, my veins bulging in anger. "Immense torture. Next time, she won't dare to think of going against me."Okay, Lord Wolfe. Let's wait and hear Javier's report, " Ronan suggested. "Exactly what I'm waiting for," I replied. A few hours passed before Javier came out of the room, adjusting his glasses. "Lord Wolfe!" He called, bowing his head. I could clearly single out her voice from the others in the room, but I wanted a confirmation from the doctor. "Is she alive?" I asked, and Javier nodded in response. "She is, but she needs to rest for quite a number of days," Javier replied. "Her recovery process shouldn't be trifled with or the aftermath would be severe. Dealing with wounds cast by spells can be very tricky." I inhaled sharply. "Alright then. I have other things to deal with. I'll be back to see her." "Alright, Lord Wolfe. Be rest assured she's in good hands, " Javier said confidently. I had no reason to doubt his words, so I turned to Ronan. "Let's head to the inner court. My wolf won't rest if I don't deal with those negligent guards." "Alright, Lord Wolfe, " He replied. Soon, we arrived at the inner court. My eyes settled on the guards kneeling before my seat, and the memory of that woman lying in the pool of blood came back alive. It fueled my rage. My fangs grew, and my claws extended. One thing was certain - their deaths. I made myself comfortable on my seat, watching as their body shook endlessly with fear. Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied. "Why did you let Valerie into the cell?" I questioned. "Don't make me repeat myself. "We thought you wouldn't mind, my Lord." One of them had the courage to respond. "We didn't know she would try to kill someone." I exhaled heavily. "What was the main rule I gave to you? Never let anyone except my Beta and I into the prison cells. You effortlessly broke that rule, and now, you'll have to face the consequences of your actions. Don't worry, I won't be the one to deal with you, your fellow guards will." I snapped my fingers, and guards rushed forward. "Take them to the furnace. Burn them alive, " I ordered. The offenders begged for their lives, but their cries fell on deaf ears. "Lucas," I summoned another guard. "I need Valerie. Don't force her to come." Immediately he left, I shifted my entire focus to Ronan. "You look disturbed," I stated, frowning. Too bad I couldn't read his thoughts. Only mates could do that. "I am," He replied, his voice solemn. "There's a huge problem. It's about Lucian." I stood up abruptly. "The immortal?" "Yes, Lord Wolfe, " Ronan affirmed. "Why him?" I queried. "That man has been in hiding for hundreds of years now."Well, it seems he's back," Ronan replied. "He has summoned all the witches for a meeting. I'm pretty sure it isn't going to be in our favour. We need to act fast." As soon as we ended the conversation with a tacit conclusion, two people rushed in - a guard and a nurse. "What's the problem?" Ronan questioned. The two of them exchanged glances before the guard decided to speak. "Lady Valerie is nowhere to be found. One of the guards said he saw her leaving through the main gate." I looked at Ronan, who seemed to be having the same thoughts with me. I returned my gaze to the nurse. "And you?" "The patient is awake," She reported. I sighed deeply, contemplating on my next line of action. "You know what? Get her moved to the maid quarters, " I ordered. "Huh... But the wound on her chest hasn't healed yet, " the nurse stated with caution. "Do as I say." I fired coldly. She bowed and turned to leave. I turned to the guard. "Tell the guards at the gate to keep their eyes on the lookout for her. Let me know when she gets back." "Yes, my Lord, " He replied and left. "We need to keep an eye on her," Ronan suggested, and I nodded in affirmation. "I need to see that weak mate of mine," I revealed. Ronan chuckled. "So you've finally accepted the fact that she's your mate." I snarled. "Watch your mouth, Ronan."Selene's POVI fell back, sobbing in relief. The nurses moved quickly, cleaning the lightly then wrapping her in soft blankets.“It’s a girl,” Dr. Javier announced with a smile. They placed her in my arms first, and I held our daughter for the very first time. My tears ran freely, my whole body shaking as I cradled the little life I had just brought into the world.“She’s perfect,” I whispered.Killian leaned in, pressing a kiss to both of our foreheads. “You both are.”Holding my baby in my arms was the best feeling in the world. Something inside me shifted the moment her tiny weight settled against my chest. It was like the entire world had gone quiet, and all I could hear was her little breaths. But then one of the nurses stepped forward gently. “Luna, it’s time to clean her up properly. Just for a moment, then we’ll bring her back to you.”The thought of letting her go, even for a second, made my chest ache. Still, I nodded slowly and handed her over. The nurses moved quickly, wip
Killian’s POVSelene spent some time holding the baby, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. The way she kissed the little girl’s forehead, I knew she was imagining our own daughter in her arms and so was I.In just a few months, we’d be parents. A new beginning was waiting for us, and for once in my life, I wasn’t afraid of what the future would bring. I was excited. When we finally returned to my chambers, it was time for her to rest. I held the door open and stepped inside with her, watching as she walked gracefully, despite her little sighs, and sat down on the edge of the bed.Everything about her had changed. She had gained some weight, which only made her glow more and sexy. She sat with a soft sigh, brushing her hair from her face. Then her eyes lifted to me. “Killian,” she said, “to think that you would have taken the joy of a father away from that little princess.”I paused for a second, then let out a long sigh. She was right. The memory of that day haunted me. If it weren’
Selene's POVFrom behind me, Killian’s voice came. “Please, Michael. Don’t hold on to this. Forgive her and let’s move forward from here.”Michael paused. I could feel the tension in his breath. And then, he finally moved. He reached down and lifted my mother from the ground. She looked up at him, her face streaked with tears, trembling like a child. And then he pulled her into an embrace.Something inside me broke and healed all at once. I burst into sobs and wrapped my arms around both of them, holding on as tightly as I could. After all these years, after all the pain and separation, we were finally a family again.***6 MONTHS LATERFather forgave mother, and he returned to the Sacred mountains while she stayed with us. It was a new beginning for all of us.The maids and guards now bowed with respect whenever I passed, and they addressed me as Luna. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was peace. No fear of Lucian. Six months had passed.I sat on the bench, one han
Selene's POVThe guilt in Killian's eyes was impossible to ignore.“Selene…” He said softly. “Every time I close my eyes, I still see your face when I couldn’t stop. You were so pale, and I thought…” He trailed off, shaking his head.I squeezed his hand tighter, forcing him to look at me. “But I’m here,” I whispered. “I’m breathing and I’m alive because you gained control on time. Don’t you dare forget that.”He looked unconvinced, but I didn’t let him speak. I raised my free hand and touched his cheek. “If you spend the rest of your life blaming yourself, you’ll miss everything we fought for. We didn’t come this far just for you to punish yourself.”He leaned into my palm, closing his eyes for a moment. “I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he murmured.“You won’t have to,” I said with a soft smile. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”For the first time, I felt some of the tension in him ease. After a while, I drifted into sleep. When I opened my eyes again, the sun was already brig
Killian's POVHer blood… gosh, her blood tasted so good. It was like drinking the sweetest honey, and I didn’t want to stop.“Killian, please stop!”The voice echoed in my ears, but I didn’t even know who was speaking, all I knew was the taste of Selene. But deep inside, I knew what I was doing. I knew this was her blood, my Selene’s blood, and I was draining her. I wanted to stop, but the sweetness overpowered reason. My body screamed to keep going, to take more. It was like a force pushing me deeper. But then, as her trembling voice kept calling my name, it came with memories. How she told me to trust her. How she said our bond was stronger than this blood pull. How she believed I could fight it.I growled against her skin, my fangs still in her, but my mind pushed its way back to control. I forced myself to stop. When I lifted my head, her pale face came into view. And my gaze… my gaze darkened as I saw the damage I’d done.“I'm sorry” I whispered.“It's okay. You did great.” She
Selene's POVKillian and I rushed toward Soteria, my breathing was ragged with fear.“Soteria, quickly,” I gasped, clutching his hand tighter. “We’re going to perform the ritual!”Soteria spun toward us. “Okay, okay stand here, both of you.” She pointed frantically at a circle etched faintly in the dirt.Killian and I scrambled into position. My chest heaved as I looked between them. “What next?”Soteria’s fingers moved, tracing patterns in the air. Sparks came from her palms like liquid light. “I’m making the potion. Both of you have to drink it.”“What?!” My voice cracked with panic. “You could’ve done that earlier—”“It would only take a minute!” Soteria snapped, sweat beading on her temple. “Now stay still.”A minute felt like an eternity. My throat was dry, my legs twitching. I risked a glance back to see Lucian straining, his eyes blazed with fury, while Michael and the other wizards pressed in tight formation, light streaming from their joined hands to bind them in place.“We c
