Killian's POV

I placed my fingers on her neck to check her pulse. There was a slight heartbeat.

"Hey, who's there?!!!!" I roared abruptly, my lungs threatening to burst. "Guards!!!"

Almost immediately, four guards burst in, looking terrified. "Lord Wolfe, you called," They stated in unison, bowing their heads in fear. I was livid. "Are you blind?!" I barked.

"How come you didn't know about this?" They all shivered in fear. Unfortunately, their death had been sealed. I stood up with her cold body in my arms.

"Go wait for me at the inner court," I ordered and walked past them. I got out of the cell. I took off at full speed, refusing to stop until I got to the doctor's quarters. The fear of unleashing the curse had stopped me from shifting, or it would have been faster.

A she-wolf approached me. "My Lord, you..."Where's Javier?" I questioned fiercely, cutting her off.

"I need him now!" She trembled in fear. "He's currently attending to an injured pup....." I glared hard at her.

I didn't need to say a word before she realized her mistake. Instantly, she turned and ran into a room. Soon enough, she came back with a lanky blonde-haired man with blue eyes behind a pair of glasses. He rushed up to me, his eyes fixed on the woman in my arms.

"Prepare a room!" He yelled, attempting to take her from my arms. I snarled, scaring him off. Realizing my mistake, I pushed her into his arms. Her blood stained his white coat. She was rushed into a room. I intended on following them, but Javier had the guts to slam the door in my face.

I could feel the pain in the mate bond, but it wasn't serious because I was naturally immune to pain. I paced back and forth, trying to understand why I hadn't left her to die. I guessed I did that because of the conclusion Ronan and I came to, or so I thought to convince myself.

"Lord Wolfe!" Called a familiar voice, and I halted my steps. Ronan appeared before me with a frown on his face. "I met the guards you sent to the inner court, and I got the news. I was going to update you on the task you assigned to me, " He revealed, frowning deeply.

"Who could have tried to kill her in her cell?" My mind went back to the injury on her chest. I didn't want to believe it, but the traces of spells showed that it was the handiwork of a witch.

"Valerie!" I declared coldly. "What?!" Ronan exclaimed in shock. "Why would she try to kill her?" I snorted. "Why are you acting ignorant? We both know what she wants." Ronan sighed.

"I thought she already came back to her senses. A wolf and a witch just can't be together. What do you plan to do to her? "Torture her" I replied, my veins bulging in anger. "Immense torture. Next time, she won't dare to think of going against me."Okay, Lord Wolfe. Let's wait and hear Javier's report, " Ronan suggested.

"Exactly what I'm waiting for," I replied. A few hours passed before Javier came out of the room, adjusting his glasses. "Lord Wolfe!" He called, bowing his head. I could clearly single out her voice from the others in the room, but I wanted a confirmation from the doctor. "Is she alive?" I asked, and Javier nodded in response. "She is, but she needs to rest for quite a number of days," Javier replied.

"Her recovery process shouldn't be trifled with or the aftermath would be severe. Dealing with wounds cast by spells can be very tricky." I inhaled sharply. "Alright then. I have other things to deal with. I'll be back to see her."

"Alright, Lord Wolfe. Be rest assured she's in good hands, " Javier said confidently. I had no reason to doubt his words, so I turned to Ronan. "Let's head to the inner court. My wolf won't rest if I don't deal with those negligent guards."

"Alright, Lord Wolfe, " He replied. Soon, we arrived at the inner court. My eyes settled on the guards kneeling before my seat, and the memory of that woman lying in the pool of blood came back alive.

It fueled my rage. My fangs grew, and my claws extended. One thing was certain - their deaths. I made myself comfortable on my seat, watching as their body shook endlessly with fear. Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied. "Why did you let Valerie into the cell?" I questioned.

"Don't make me repeat myself. "We thought you wouldn't mind, my Lord." One of them had the courage to respond. "We didn't know she would try to kill someone." I exhaled heavily. "What was the main rule I gave to you? Never let anyone except my Beta and I into the prison cells. You effortlessly broke that rule, and now, you'll have to face the consequences of your actions. Don't worry, I won't be the one to deal with you, your fellow guards will." I snapped my fingers, and guards rushed forward. "Take them to the furnace. Burn them alive, " I ordered. The offenders begged for their lives, but their cries fell on deaf ears.

"Lucas," I summoned another guard. "I need Valerie. Don't force her to come." Immediately he left, I shifted my entire focus to Ronan. "You look disturbed," I stated, frowning. Too bad I couldn't read his thoughts. Only mates could do that. "I am," He replied, his voice solemn. "There's a huge problem. It's about Lucian." I stood up abruptly.

"The immortal?" "Yes, Lord Wolfe, " Ronan affirmed. "Why him?" I queried. "That man has been in hiding for hundreds of years now."Well, it seems he's back," Ronan replied. "He has summoned all the witches for a meeting. I'm pretty sure it isn't going to be in our favour. We need to act fast." As soon as we ended the conversation with a tacit conclusion, two people rushed in - a guard and a nurse.

"What's the problem?" Ronan questioned. The two of them exchanged glances before the guard decided to speak. "Lady Valerie is nowhere to be found. One of the guards said he saw her leaving through the main gate." I looked at Ronan, who seemed to be having the same thoughts with me. I returned my gaze to the nurse. "And you?"

"The patient is awake," She reported. I sighed deeply, contemplating on my next line of action. "You know what? Get her moved to the maid quarters, " I ordered.

"Huh... But the wound on her chest hasn't healed yet, " the nurse stated with caution. "Do as I say." I fired coldly. She bowed and turned to leave. I turned to the guard. "Tell the guards at the gate to keep their eyes on the lookout for her. Let me know when she gets back." "Yes, my Lord, " He replied and left.

"We need to keep an eye on her," Ronan suggested, and I nodded in affirmation. "I need to see that weak mate of mine," I revealed. Ronan chuckled. "So you've finally accepted the fact that she's your mate." I snarled. "Watch your mouth, Ronan."

Selene's POVKeep him occupied? Fine. My only problem was the poison."You'll be fine, Selene" Carmen declared, taking several steps backward. "Take this as a test. This might be a sign.""But...." My words trailed off as I saw a glass-like barrier surround her. Suddenly, a thick fog appeared and wrapped up the barrier, shielding Carmen.I couldn't even see a thing."Carmen!" I called, but there was no response."I won't let her stop us!" The rogue behind me declared. "I'll kill her after I'm done with you."I snorted, turning to face him. I ruled out a margin in front of me with my right toe."I won't let you cross this line. Mark my words" I declared.A moment of silence reigned as we both engaged in a staring contest. A strong wind blew, making me tremble slightly. My heart drummed hard against my chest as I watched out for a slight movement.Gradually, his face morphed into a deep frown. I felt he knew something, or why else would he stare at me like that?"Silver hair" I heard hi

Lucian's POV"A spell, huh?" I growled. "That bastard actually thinks he can outsmart me. How dare he take a step like that without informing me?!""The Rogues might actually get infected too" Xavier chipped in. "I wonder how they got the spell.""Those godforsaken witches" I cursed, almost biting my tongue. "I'll pay Aria a visit. Then, I'll head back to the cave immediately.""Alright, Lord Lucian" Xavier agreed. "But what do we do about the spells?"I pursed my lips, contemplating."The end of Shadowfang Pack marks the end of your purpose, My Lord" Xavier added with a low voice, and my ears twitched. He was right. What would be the point of every blood and sweat I had wasted if everything ended because of a fool's negligence?"Tch.... I don't know. Let me speak with Aria" I replied indecisively, turning to leave.Xavier followed me all the way to the gate where the guards, who were to take me back to the cave, were. One of them handed me my black cloak. Selene's POV"Can't you sense it?" Carmen queried, her eyes darting around. "Someone's watching us.""I don't understand" I questioned , looking around.Shockingly, a thick voice snarled from nowhere. "A rogue, huh?""Behind you, Selene" Carmen yelled, and in the next minute, she disappeared and appeared in front of me."It seems the pack is under attack" Carmen revealed, taking a fight stance.I glanced at the intruder, shock written on my face. "What?!""That man is not a pack member" Carmen disclosed.I was rendered speechless for a moment as I tried to comprehend the whole situation. The Shadowfang Pack was under attack? It sounded disbelieving to the ears. I would have mocked Carmen if not for the intruder standing before us.His thick, spikey red hair complemented his eerie smile. He had dark circles beneath his eyes that made him look spooky. Was he from another pack? His clothes didn't look like....Wait.. the mark on his sleeveless arm; I had seen it on Zev's arm before."A r

Valerie's POV"The Alpha wants you out of prison, Valerie Rose" Ronan revealed as he stood before the iron bars hindering me from clawing his head of his neck.My lips curved into a smile or triumph as my thoughts were confirmed. The moment I had sense the anomaly in the land, I had casted a spell, sending a messenger bird to get me more information."It seems you and Killian have finally come to terms with how useful I am to the Shadowfang Pack" I let out a shrill laughter."You bet" Ronan shot back with a deep scowl. "Don't overestimate yourself." "Haha... I guess I would never understand the ego of you wolves" I chuckled amusingly.Honestly, it was the audacity of those rogues for me. I was quite sure Queen mother would never give that spell to anyone. I, myself, had never set my eyes on it, let alone the low rank witches. But the most important thing that got me riled up was the fact that only a witch could stop the spell. As far as I've known, I was the only witch Shadowfang Pac

The plainly decorated room was eeriely silent."Where is she?" I questioned."Who are you?" A sharp yet alluring voice cut in, and my eyes went to the window side.Oh, my!!I couldn't believe I was blown away by her beauty. She was different compared to the woman with a burnt skin I saw the last time I was here. She was beautiful, and I couldn't ignore it."Who are you?" She questioned again, her brown eyes full of caution. Her silky black hair had grown longer.Suddenly, an idea popped up in my head. I needed her to trust me, and there was only one way to do that. Instantly, I shrieked, my face etched with horror as I opened my mouth to speak."You don't remember me?" I questioned, my voice etched with pain. She seemed surprised and a bit disturbed. "I don't understand. Who are you?" She questioned, raising her voice a little. "I don't think I kno

  • MARKED BY THE ALPHA'S CURSE    POISON

Killian's POV"Let's go!" I declared, and we took the route to the lake.It had been two decades since I last witnessed the beauty of the Mystical Lake. I was still a child then, but reality decided to hit me hard in the face.I was cursed. Not just me, but my bloodline.I let out a deep sigh, and turned to Ronan. "You don't plan on watching me, do you?"His face turned red with embarrassment. "Of.. of course not, My...my Lord. I'll... I'll go wait at the extreme" He stuttered, turning to leave. But then, a huge brown wolf appeared before us and shifted back into his human form.I frowned, recognizing the intruder. "What do you want, Xavier?""The Pack is under attack" He revealed. "What?!" Ronan spat in shock. "Are you sure of what you're saying? Shadowfang Pack hasn't been attacked in ages. I hope this isn't one of your pranks."I'd agree with Ronan's assumptions. Xavier was quite playful and tricky. He was also quite good with his persuasive skills; the main reasons why I made hi
