Kade’s POV Day was breaking, painting the sky in bloody oranges and reds that matched the battlefield around us. The facility continued to burn in the distance, sending thick black smoke into the air like a funeral pyre. But the real monsters were still standing right in front of us. Unit Prime and the lead Forsaken had regrouped despite hating each other. One a broken product of science, the other an ancient curse given flesh. What a combination of sorts and both of them wanted us dead. I squeezed Liora’s hand once more before letting go, feeling her strength even through all the pain and blood. “Stay close. We end this together.” Liora nodded, claws out, eyes burning silver. “Damn right we do. Liora’s POV The final clash felt like it was the end of the goddamn world. Unit Prime came at us from the left like a freight train made of rage and charred flesh, while the lead Forsaken came from the right, its blood-red eyes burning with some strange kind of hunger. My body screamed in protest, shoulder torn open, ribs bruised, throat still raw from being choked, but I refused to fall. Not now. Not when we were this close. “Kade!” I shouted “I’ve got the Forsaken! You take Prime!” Kade’s black wolf form snarled in acknowledgment, launching himself at Unit Prime with every ounce of Alpha fury he had left. The impact when they collided was deafening, like two mountains crashing together. I turned to face the Forsaken, gripping the jagged metal pipe tighter even though my arms were shaking. “You want Thorn blood? Come take mine first, you disgusting parasite.” T

Kade’s POVThe explosion had turned the night sky into an inferno, if you know what I mean by that. The flames were behind us, consuming what remained of Michelle’s nightmare facility. The smoke was everywhere, thick and smelling of chemical, and everytime that I inhaled, my lungs seemed to burn. But none of that mattered.Unit Prime was still alive, and that was a problem. The monstrous creation stepped out of the blazing wreckage like a demon walking through hell. One arm was completely gone, half its body charred black and cracked, yet the hatred in those golden eyes were still very much alive. Behind it, shadows moved, the Forsaken, their blood-red eyes cutting through the smoke like fresh wounds.I pushed myself up, every bone and muscle screaming in protest.
