Coralline's POV

I stared at my phone in hesitation. Why did he call me instead? I thought he would have called dad or Damon.

'You have to pick the call Cora. But remember to keep the call going, just do anything you can to waste his time so that we can be able to trace his number.' Dad said.

I nodded and took a deep breath before picking the call. I put the call on loud speaker so they would be able to hear what I was saying.

'Hello' I said.

'Hello Coralline.' He said.

'Who's this?' I asked acting like I didn't know he was the one.

'Have you forgotten about me that fast? If I can remember clearly, we met three years ago. Wait, maybe you can't remember because to you, I'm already a dead man.' He said chuckling.

'Jake Humphrey.' I said.

'Bravo. You got my name in just one guess. You're getting smarter than you were years ago.' He said.
