Chapter: 1

The sun was warmer today, more than what the peaceful village of Greens always gets during this time of the year. Everyone went about their daily business, smiling sweetly at everyone as they went. Children could be seen running about excitedly as they chased after each other. Women and men went about buying and selling, while some exchanged what they have for what they didn't. Lovers cling onto each other whispering sweet nothings and stealing kisses every now and then. In this happy village lives a family of equal greatness who were away on their farm planting and harvesting crops while chattering loudly one to another as they went round and round the big farmland.

Andreios stood to admire his progress and also look around to see his family, a smile filled his lips as he saw his kids helping their mother pick cabbages while dropping them carefully into the dirty basket.

They were his life. 

His everything.

Andreios had made the first yet biggest kill of his life six years ago and as tradition demands, he had sold the big animal he caught and thus owning his own house and inheriting a big farm from his father, and then he was ripe for marriage. His mother found him a beautiful woman named Doris and soon they had fallen in love and had gotten married. A year later his wife had a baby girl named Chloe, the baby grew into a beautiful and strong girl who was scared of nothing, and then a year and a half later they had their second child Chara. 

Chara's birth brought joy and pain because at that time Andreios father had been killed by a wide beast while hunting and his mother had cried herself to death a week after, she wouldn't live on without her husband. Chara's birth made the pain of losing both parents a little less hurtful.

The little girl had lived her fourth year on earth yesterday and Andreios had given her a gift, a beautiful dress made out of an animal's skin one of which she loves most and she wore the dress even as she worked. Andreios sniffled a laugh as he caught sight of his second daughter taking careful steps as she walked and dusting dirt out of her dress every now and then although that had just ended up adding more mud to the said dress, the little girl frowned and that made Andreios chuckle. 

Chloe, his first daughter, was the bravest little girl he's ever seen. She was neither scared of getting mud on her dress nor going into the forest to hunt with him every once in a while. She was never afraid of the dark or the dangers that lock within, if anything she laughs in the face of it, making Andreios wonder what kind of woman she'd be when she's grown.

He lives for them and he loves them to no end.

But just like they say, nothing good lasts forever.
