“Oh, no!” I muffled. It was Luna Glenda and her handmaid. I shifted back on the floor. Her deep glaring eyes made me almost pee my pants. I shuddered as I forced myself up, looking down to the floor.
“You filthy thing!” Luna Glenda groaned, striding forward and grabbing my bleeding arm tightly.“Ow!” I exclaimed. Tears fell from my eyes.“You dare break my plates!” she groaned again, her voice cutting through my face, sending shivers down my spine. “I won’t spare you!” she yelled and freed my hand, making me fall back to the floor. She turned to her handmaid. “Call Grey and make sure she gets no food for two days!” she commanded and went off. I hope death comes to me within those two days. Grey will never spare me. Grey was the chief guard, in charge of the dungeon in the deepest part of the pack. I have never been there, but everyone that has been sentenced there never comes out alive. What was my offense? What did I do wrong? The Luna simply has a special hatred for me in her heart and I wonder why. The handmaid crouched in front of me. She held my cheek and fondled my jaw. Tears streamed down my cheeks uncontrollably.“Don’t cry, dear, you will be fine,” the handmaid assured. I nodded and she held me up. She led me to Grey in the dungeon. He stood like a mighty villain, glaring into space like he was fighting with nature. He was a huge, brawny man with hard facial features. He had his blonde hair gelled to the back. Hearing our footsteps, he turned abruptly to us and I hid behind the handmaid. His eyes were drops of chestnut that glowed fearlessly. I shivered, looking at him.“What brings you here?” he asked in a husky tone that got Niamh crawling back inside of me.“The Luna,” the handmaid said and looked at me beside her. “Keep her till she gives her next judgment. But…” She moved closer to him, staring into his eyes. “Don’t hurt her,” she told him in a soft sweet voice that forced a small laugh on Grey’s face.“As you wish,” he accepted calmly. The handmaid looked at me. She held my hand and pulled me to her side.“Don’t worry, Muriel, you will be fine with him,” she assured me. I nodded. She looked back at Grey and went away. Grey stared at me. I looked down, holding the sides of my dress. He moved toward me, I began taking a few steps back. He stood a few days distance, his eyes traced my head down to my toe.“Come,” he said, walking away. I followed him up without objection.~Lucian~After the harsh punishment imposed on Muriel, she disappeared. I wonder where she had gone. I haven’t seen her since that day. Well, seeing her helpless gives me joy. How dare she? She is always bold, acting too smart, and oppressing me in school. She was just an Omega, she shouldn’t possess such wit to downgrade me. For every reason, I hate her. I headed to my mother’s room. I wanted to find out where she sent Muriel. I knew she was behind her disappearance. I opened the door and entered. She was seated in front of the vanity table, wiping off her makeup.“Learn to knock, son,” she corrected as she glanced at me.“Not in my mother’s room,” I declared, moving close to her with a full-moon smile on my face.“A woman’s room you meant to say,” she smiled at me.“My mother comes first before the woman in her,” I argued, standing beside her.“That’s why you are my son, too full of yourself,” she teased, ruffling my hair. I smiled shyly. I was always fond of my mother. She was the best mother in the world. She put my happiness first before hers. She continued wiping off her makeup. “What brings you to my room, son?” she asked, putting down the wipe and facing me.“Uh, I want to ask you something,” I said, scratching the back of my neck.“Anything for my son,” she smiled, facing back to the mirror. She took her cleanser and began cleansing her face.“Where is Muriel?” I queried straight forward. She looked at me abruptly like I had just said the dumbest word ever heard. She continued staring at me like that. “Come on, Mother,” why are you looking at me like that?”“Because you are asking the craziest question I have ever heard,” she declared and focused back on her night routine.“I just want to see her. I want to see how you transformed her for my sake. There will be no pain without mockery,” I stated. She looked back at me. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion. I kept a straight face. Besides, my intentions were right.“Fine, she is in the dungeon,” she specified.“Really? I knew you would always have my back,” I laughed.“Any day, son,” she smiled and continued her routine.“Love you, Mother,” I said and turned to leave.“Not as much as I love you,” she declared. I smiled and went out.I headed to the dungeon at once. Can’t wait to see the painful eyes of Muriel. I reached the dungeon and saw Grey, standing vigilantly mighty, towering over me.“Hello, Grey,” I greeted. I stood in his front like a dwarf in the presence of a giant. He looked down at me.“What brings you here, Lucian?” Grey queried, his voice husky and terrifying.“I want to see Muriel,” I declared. I was next in line to become an Alpha, everyone must obey me. Grey looked at me for a while, forcing my gaze down to the floor.“Follow me,” he said and turned away, walking to a dungeon barrier. He opened the heavy lock and we entered. He opened another lock and I saw Muriel, she was seated curled up on the floor. She looked wretched, that’s what she is though.~Muriel~I shuddered upon seeing Lucian and Grey. Though Grey hasn’t been mistreating me, the place alone kills me. The creepy rats that bother my sleep, the mosquitoes, the cold, and the eerie darkness that prevents me from sleeping peacefully. I gathered my miserable self and stood up, staggering back to the wall.“Can you leave us alone?” Lucian said, facing Grey. Grey stood mute for a moment before turning and left. I watched the smirk on Lucian’s face with a pang in my heart. I wonder what I ever do to him that requires him to punish me like this. He moved closer, scanning me from head to toe in derision.“What are you doing here?” I queried in a shaky voice, not because I was scared of him, but because I was scared of the prank he would pull up next.He burst into laughter, holding his stomach and almost rolling on the floor to laugh harder. I stared speechless at him. Mockery isn’t the worst punishment for me.“Oh, my God, look at you, Muriel,” he mocked and stopped laughing. “I can’t believe I’m seeing you. Whoa! I’m a great planner,” he teased and chuckled.“I knew it was you,” I said, wearing back my confidence. “You took my mathematics textbook and gave it to Harley just to implicate me. What more should I be expecting from you, Lucian?” I stated boldly. He stared at me without a word, anger fueling in his eyes.“I want you to beg me,” he declared. “I want you to go down on your knees and beg me because you are a wretched Omega,” he scorned.“I will rather die than ever beg you, Lucian. Let’s see how many pranks you are going to pull to drag me down on my knees. Yes, you are the Alpha’s son, but you are a dumb pupil. You just can’t accept the fact that I’m more intelligent than you are, and also in the same school as you. I am an Omega with great IQ, the earlier you accept that the better,” I confronted. He clenched his fists.“Augh!” he groaned and pushed me back to the wall. “I am going to make you pay for every word you just said to me, mark my word, wretched Omega,” he sneered and turned to leave. I slid down the wall, crying helplessly. What if my parents were alive, would they allow me to undergo such torture? We reached Russell’s room, having landed in the middle of the bedroom. I disengaged the hug, looking around. Everything was still in place. I can’t believe I’m back here to stay. Even if I get angry this time, I can’t say I’m going home.“I won’t let you get angry,” Russell said, walking behind me. I turned and glared at him. “Did you enter my head again?” I groaned.“Oh-oh! I already said I won’t let you get angry and you are already furious. Tsk! I didn’t intrude on your private talk,” he said with a funny head shake and I chuckled. Now I noticed.“Wait, what happened to the old dining table?” I asked, walking to the dining table.“Uh, I… I broke it,” he stuttered. I looked at him and shook my head. The new one wasn’t bad anyway. It’s a porcelain-designed table with three golden chairs rounding it. I felt the smooth tabletop with my hand and sighed. Finally, I can sleep in peace. Russell was already on the bed, relaxing with his arms forming a pillow behind his head.“Russell?” I
~Muriel~Falling off, strong arms wrapped around my body. I quickly opened my eyes and I was back on the cliff. What just happened? Was I imagining my fall?“How can you die without me, Beauty?” I heard Russell’s voice from my back and I turned to him. I stood frozen for a moment. I thought he wouldn’t ever come for me. I hurried into his arms, wrapping my arms around his torso while sobbing.“I love you, Russell,” I expressed.“I love you too. Sorry I took so long to come,” he apologized and I disengaged the hug.“Don’t be sorry, Russell,” I said. “I am sorry. I know I betrayed you. I shouldn’t have allowed another man to touch me. I regret everything, Russell. Now I learned it was my fate. I am meant to be with you, but you have to accept my child, please,” I apologized sincerely. He ran his hand through his hair and smiled.“I accept you and I accept anyone you wish me to accept. I love you, Muriel. I was just hurt. I thought
~Ruby~I took a cabby out of town. Where am I going? There are thousands of cliffs in Richmond, how do I locate that particular cliff? All I know is that the cliff has a deep forest beside it. Which forest it is, on which land, which state, I know nothing. Even when the cabby asked me where I was going, I told him to just drive. Now I’m out of the city, facing God knows where. I began walking, trailing a dirt track. If the werewolf in my dream wants me to come to him, why wasn’t he specific? I grunted when I got pierced by a thorn as I trudged my way into the woods. After forever walking, I was faced with a sea with just two boats on it. One boat was returning with passengers and the other was about to start without passengers. I rushed down to the boatman.“Hey, excuse me!” I said. He turned to me.“Hello, where are you going, Miss?” he asked, sounding polite.“Um, I… I am going. Look, I don’t know exactly where I am going. I’m looking for a clif
~Ruby~I turned uncomfortably on the bed. It was him again. I found myself taking a flight into darkness. I screamed as everything flashed across my face. Then the flight stopped and I was right behind him on the clifftop. He was close to the edge of the clifftop, more like he would fall if he took a step forward. “Hey!” I called out, taking careful steps toward him. He looked to his side but didn’t face me. I could see his lip quirking up a smile. He faced the valley again. “Who the hell are you and why are you pestering me?” I queried. He didn’t respond. “Why aren’t you saying something? Why do I keep seeing you? Don’t you talk? Who the hell are you? Are you a werewolf?” I quizzed and stopped before reaching closer to him.“If you are interested to know me, why don’t you come and find out?” he spoke out.“What do you mean?” I asked.“See you,” he said and lunged forward, falling off the cliff. I curiously hurried to the edge, looking d
~Muriel~After much crying, I slept off. I turned over, yawned, and opened my eyes, pulling them on Russell. He was standing close to the wall with folded arms. I sat up quickly. Does he know? My heart picked a race as I stared into his emotionless eyes. “Russell?” I uttered.“It hurts, Muriel. I didn’t know you could hurt me like this,” he expressed. His words sent cold shills to my heart. “What more do you want me to do to show that I love you with all my heart? I have never loved before and I promised myself that when I do, I will love her with all my heart. And I did, Muriel. You accepted me for who I am and I was over the moon because of that. I wanted to fight the world for you, to put a smile on your face, to make you never regret loving me and to die for you. I don’t know what I left out, Muriel. Why did you have to lead me on? You should have told me you never wish to be with me, I would have let you be, I would have let you go because I want you to be hap
~Ian~I headed to Muriel’s room at sunset. I knocked severally before she opened up. “What are you doing here?” she asked, holding the door ajar.“Can we talk, please?” I requested.“No, I don’t have time for people like you. Get out,” she said and closed the door. I stopped the shutting of the door with my clenched fist.“Ouch!” I exclaimed as I succeeded in opening the door. She swiveled abruptly to me.“What did you do, Ian?” she rushed back to me.“Let it be, Muriel. I want us to talk,” I insisted.“You are just so stubborn,” she said, pulling me to the bed. She sat me down and pulled out a drawer, bringing out an ointment. “Show me your hand,” she commented and I forwarded my hand to her. She began applying the ointment to my wrist.“You do care about me, don’t you?” I asked. She glanced at me.“That’s what I’m known for, Ian. I care about those who don’t care about me no matter how painful their a
