Kyra's POV

“Arghhhh!” A loud roar erupted from the depths of my throat as the whip landed on my back. My back arched as I screamed in agony, jolting up from my slumber.

As they pulled the whip off my back, my flesh followed, causing another scream to erupt. The dungeon echoed as I gnashed my teeth from the agony. The thorns in the whip pulled my flesh out.

My fingers gripped the iron I was chained against, my eyes widened with unshed tears. My jaws clenched as I struggled to shift and call my wolf, but no response.

“Trying to shift? Good luck with that,” one of them observed. The others laughed only for another lash to land on my back again.

“Arghhhh!”

My legs gave way, I allowed the chain that held my hands up in the air to carry me.

“Tell us, how can we enter the Red Sky pack?” The man in front of me was dressed in another attire, not as a soldier asked.

I let out a chuckle, “Try harder,” I spat. I kept trying to get to Alice, but she wasn't responding. ‘What is wrong with you, Alice!’

“For your information, you have been fed wolfbane. Let's see how your wolf wants to come out,” He mentioned, causing my heart to drop down to my stomach.

I wasn't fortunate enough to think deeply about it before more and more lashes landed on my back again and again. Blood rushed down my nose and mouth.

They thought I was going to betray my pack, never!

I looked and noticed that the man had gone out. He was tall, his body clean and spotless. Was he the Alpha? Doesn't look like an Alpha.

A few minutes later, two of my soldiers were dragged into the cell I was in. Their eyes were swollen from beating, but they weren't as battered as I was.

I watched how the man with the whip left my side and walked over to where they were. Before I could speak, the whip landed on the back of one of them, and the scream caused my fists and toes to clench.

“No! Stop!” I cried loudly.

They didn't listen and only landed another on my soldier. She fell to the ground. She was young, she was vibrant, she could not handle this. I screamed,

“Fine! Fine! I'll tell you everything you need to know. I promise.”

And the whip hung in the air. The clean man walked away from them towards me.

“Tell me what I need to know,” he smiled.

My fingers wrapped around the chain, my body hurt, I wasn't healing due to the wolfbane, and I could feel the blood dripping from my flesh.

“I will tell only your Alpha,” I whispered.

I needed to think of something, and I needed to do it fast.

“And you think the Alpha will come to visit you, poor rat?” He asked. His voice had a hint of sarcasm in it. I gulped. I was tired and thirsty.

“Yes. He will because he needs this information too much. He has been searching for years. I know of his search, and if he wants to take the route to get into the Red Sky pack, he must come.”

They paused for a while, maybe deliberating whether or not they wanted to listen to me or not.

It took another few minutes, then I noticed that they had mind-linked the Alpha. I could sense it.

“Fine! The Alpha will be here any minute,” The neat man said, and I looked over at my soldiers, who looked like they'd die any minute.

“Kyra, don't. It's not worth it. Don't do—” A large shoe collided with Helen`s face, her body kissed the ground, and I screamed.

“I asked you not to touch them. I'll tell you the truth.” I yelled

They dragged her up and threw her back onto the bench she had laid on a few minutes ago. Tears rolled down my face, mixing with the sweat and blood on my face.

Suddenly, light shone into the dungeon, someone had come in. Without seeing who, I knew it was the Alpha. His calculating steps grew louder the more he stepped in.

“Where is she?” I heard his voice and I gulped. My tired eyes remained at the cell door, waiting for him.

And just as he stepped in, our eyes locked.

He looked like he had frozen. I am not sure, but I froze. My heart palpitates at how young the Alpha of the Moonshine pack was. He must be the same age as Roan. His dark hair fell towards his forehead, his blue eyes took me in as I did the same.

His clothes did no justice to covering his muscular stature. He was fit, solid, and strong.

“Alpha of Moonshine pack,” I began my speech, ignoring his still state.

“I am Gamma Kyra of the Red Sky pack, and I am willing to give you all the information that you need,” I announced. “Just let the rest of my warriors go.”

“Kyra, no,” I heard a faint cry, but I ignored it.

“Please…” My voice trembled.

I could hear the laughter of the guards around. I was speaking jargon, I don't have any right to negotiate, but I had to try. I cannot watch more of my soldiers getting killed. Especially Helen.

“She thinks we are fools?” One asked.

“Like we won't still go and destroy the pack and everyone else in it,” Another laughed. But the Alpha remains mute. His gaze was on me.

No anger, no confusion, no emotions at all, just blank. I couldn't read whether he was going to do as I requested or not.

He was the first man I couldn't read.

While the guards were laughing, I whispered again, “Please… Please, Alpha, I promise to tell you everything. Just let my friends go”

I whispered.

He opened his mouth, “Release every one of the Red Sky Pack's soldiers and let them go,” he ordered.

My heart skipped when I heard his voice, my eyes widened, shocked that he agreed to my request.

“Alpha?!” Everyone was stunned, including me.

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 169: The Celebration

George's POV After that great battle between the Moonshine and the Red Sky pack, I led my men to their lands and seized their properties, rescuing the slaves and seizing their lands as a whole.I took control of the whole pack, but I wasn't sure what to do about it just yet.My enemies in that pack were Alpha Richard and Prince Roan, who are dead already. I didn't want to involve innocent people and make them homeless. So, because of this reason, I have not been able to decide what to do about the pack.“We are celebrating my son today, so let's not discuss this.” I pointed out, and the Elder smiled apologetically before averting his gaze.I knew that some of the elders of the Red Sky had designs on the Alpha seat, and some were even competing for it. But it does not matter to me, and it does not affect me. If it does, I know what to do.“To the moonshine pack!”“To the moonshine pack!”The celebration continued in full bloom, and the laughter increased in tempo. That was when I not

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 168: Goodnews

George's POV I paced back and forth at the entrance of the labor room, my heart sinking with every loud scream that resonated from the room. “She will be fine, George. Have you forgotten how strong Kyra is?” Felix said while patting my shoulder. But I could not calm down at all.She had bled before we carried her into that room; she had bled. How was I meant to calm down knowing all that?I have heard of several occurrences that happen during labor, and most of them were not good things. Countless women have died during this process; some had left their children with their families.I can't even imagine something like that happening to Kyra. I can't lose her, not like this. I could not tell how long I waited, but it felt like years. Unable to sit still, I could only pace like that until the heavy doors were pushed open and Arlene walked out with a smile. “Arlene, how is she?” I rushed over and asked.Arlene had a smile on her face as she replied, “Although we had some complicatio

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 167: The Birth

Kyra's POV “My lady, please push.” The midwife said earnestly, raising her head to look at me. My sweat trickled down my forehead, soaking the pillow under me. I had always been strong, and my pain index was something I had always been proud of. But this pain was different; it was as though my lower body was about to be torn apart. My eyes had probably become bloodshot, and I had started growing dizzy. “My lady, breathe in and out. You can do this. The baby must not remain here for too long; he won't survive.” A maid said anxiously, holding my hand to comfort me. Yes, I had to do it. Or else, my pup won't make it. After carrying him in my belly for months, I could not imagine the devastation I would go through if I lost him. I gathered all my strength, pushing with every bit of fiber in my body. I gathered all my strength in my lower body, trying to push out the being that lingered in my private part. I gripped the sheets tightly, groaning out loud. My body trembled at the

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 166: Victory after the ordeal.

Kyra's POV Roan led a few warriors towards me, and when he saw the bodies of his men on the ground, his eyebrows shot up, but he did not seem surprised. “Come back with me, Kyra. This land is not worthy of having someone like you.” Roan said, his chin raised in pride, and I scoffed. “So, a trash pack like yours, whose strategy is to exploit others, is the one worthy?” I shot back, and his face darkened. “I know you are still angry, but I hope you can understand. As a soon-to-be Alpha, it's a normal thing for women to push themselves at me; it can't be blamed on me. So follow me, and I promise you a better life.” He said it with that same arrogance that made my intestines ache. “What if I don't want to?” I retorted, and his face grew grave. “I'm afraid you don't have a say.” He said and signaled to the warriors behind him, who quickly dashed over. “I've spoken to you responsibly, and since you've refused to respect yourself, I have no choice but to do things in my own way,” Ro

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 165: Their plan all along.

Kyra's POV Just as Damon was about to open the letter, his body suddenly went taut in alertness, and he glanced around. “Who's there?” I have been found out! But before I could emerge, several figures walked out from under the shadows of the night, and I stopped. It was George, leading a group of warriors including Felix, Gideon, and a few familiar ones. Damon's face went pale, and he took a step back in shock. “How did you…” Gideon walked out, his face oddly ugly. “It was me. I reported you to the Alpha.” When Damon heard that, his pupils dilated, and he spat angrily, “Why did you do it? I thought we were friends!” Gideon snorted, “Friends? Our friendship ended the moment you decided to betray the hand that fed us and gave us shelter. We wouldn't be alive today if not because of the Alpha, and yet, after pledging allegiance to the pack, you still dared to betray us. How could you?” Damon forced himself to calm down, but he clenched his fist. “How exactly did you know?”

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 164: Their departure

Kyra's POV I stared at the man before me with a frown, wondering what he was up to. “What have you found?” George asked coldly, and Damon took out a scroll from under his sleeves. Early this morning, Felix had called for us, saying that Damon had something to show us. After seeing him, Damon claimed that he had an important message to report. Felix collected the scroll and read it out loud. It was a written agreement between the Red Sky Pack, the Sky Palace Pack, and a few other packs, with three of them being under the alliance we've just formed. “What's the meaning of this? How did you get this, and how are we certain that it is real and not fabricated?” George asked coldly, exerting his aura to intimidate Damon. But Damon's face only twitched for a second before he returned to normal. “The Alpha should know that apart from being a tier three royal guard, I am also one of the pack's official spies.” I gave Felix a look, and he nodded in confirmation of the new informatio
