Kyra's POV
“What took you so long?” I asked as I watched the cell gate being opened for the Alpha. You said you would be coming back the next day to question me, but it's been two days already.
“Other pack matters,” Came his short reply that made me scoff. Other packs matter. We would be destroying this pack soon, whether they were having other issues or not.
“So the information I need,” he asked.
“How am I sure they got to the Red Sky Pack?” I asked, and he brought out a piece of paper. I took it and opened it. It was Helen's writing, I knew her writing when I saw one.
“We're so sorry, Gamma Kyra. Sorry, you had to face this great sorrow alone. We have gotten to the pack safe and sound. May the good goddess cause your soul to rest. Don't be scared. We shall see in the next life.”
When I was done reading it, I let out a dry laugh.
“There is a secret tunnel from the land of Gall to the Red Sky pack.” He looked at me like he didn't believe a word I said, and I rolled my eyes
“You won't see it because it's underground. Do not look at me like that. Do you think we would allow our enemy to see our secret passage?” I asked.
“And if you're lying?” He asked.
“My pack already thinks I'm dead. If I am lying, you can come finish me off.” I replied.
“Austin!”
“My lord,” A soldier came running in.
“Gather as many soldiers as you can and march to the Land of Gall. We are attacking the Red Sky pack tonight.”
“Yes, sir!” The man ran out, and I raised a brow.
“Do you think you can attack a pack that already knows you're coming?” I asked him. He squats down to meet my eyes.
“Yes. Their Gamma is here in this pack, so they had no one to lead them. And I will be going with more than three times the army that went when you were captured.”
I gulped, “My warriors will slaughter you all. They will—”
“Shhhh,” he shushed me, placing his finger on my lips, my heart skipped. He said, “You know your people have lost, Kyra. Your army is nowhere close to mine. Your weapons are not as strong as ours either. The best you can do for them from here is pray.”
“If you're not scared, release me, let me fight with my people if I don't chop your head off,” I spat, my eyes burning with flames.
“No, Kyra. You're my…” He paused, his blue eyes holding gaze with me, soft and calm, until he replied, “Prisoner.”
He stood up while I sucked in breaths.
“Get my armor ready! We're going to war!” He yelled as he marched out.
He was going to?
My heart continued to race even after he had gone. I released breaths and lay down to do as he had asked. Pray. Right now, I could only pray.

I didn't know how I slept, but the next time I woke up, the sun had given way to the darkness. The place was silent, with no noise from outside, and no patrol. No lights from outside the window. Did he take every single guard as well to battle? I wondered.
Picking up a stone, I threw it outside the cell, but there was no sound. I did it again, but everywhere remained silent.
Was I dreaming?
Pushing myself up, I walked over to the cell and checked the lock. Bringing out a small piece of metal I had twisted from the roasted chain, I tried to unlock the padlock to the cell.
I learned this skill as a child and have been using it, I hope the locks in Red Sky Pack weren't different from the ones in Moonlight Pack.
Just then, I heard it click, and I froze. It unlocked.
I gave myself a high five before opening the bolt as slowly and quietly as possible. I walked out of the cell only to see one guard who was sleeping.
I shook my head, he wasn't only sleeping, he was drunk because there was a bottle of alcohol beside him. Alpha George does have the best army.
I walked out of the dungeon and sneaked carefully back into the forest. The guards on patrol didn't take notice of me as I fled.
The wind ran with me, causing me to smile. I knew if I ran all night, I would get to the pack before evening tomorrow.
Lucky for me, I got there early. Didn't sleep a wink, yet still energized. I was going to meet my love, Prince Roan. I could imagine how worried he could have been about me. I also know Prince Roan; he must have tried to come to rescue me, but the Alpha wouldn't allow it.
I walked into the pack barefoot. Everything was normal, buying and selling, eating and drinking, laughing and talking.
Yes… I wouldn't dare to betray my pack by giving our enemy the secret passage into the pack.
I was on my way to the pack house when I heard my name and turned to see two men training. One said,
“She is dead. Now, Brendon will take over.”
“I cannot be more pleased. Allowing a woman to lead us, that was hell,” the other replied.
“Brendon had prayed for her death before the battle,” the first man confessed, causing the other to burst into laughter.
I clenched my fists. I wish I could rip their throats out. But Prince Roan first. Prince Roan first.
I turned and walked away.
The royal pack house was quiet. The guards didn't question me like they used to. Maybe because I was dressed like a slave. No one questioned me, making me wonder if I had turned invisible.
I reached the Prince’s room, but there were no guards there. My frown furrowed, whether he was in or not, there were always guards standing by his door.
It was when I moved closer that I stilled.
I swallowed and slowly pushed the door open.
“Ah. Yes. Yes. My prince, faster,” the moans filled my ears. My blood ran cold. Tears rolled down my face as I remained frozen in the spot.
The voice. I couldn't see the lady's face, but I knew who it was.
Helen.
Kyra's POV I hacked a rogue down with my sword, and his head was severed from the rest of his body. Blood flowed like a fountain, painting me in red and the earth in another color. However, I kept a part of attention on the leader, who had a solemn expression on his face. One thing I was sure of is that these rogues were sent by someone close to me, and that person wants me dead. If not dead, then the person wants to kill one of the women, and by doing so, I might have to go through a series of questions back in the pack.Even Alpha George will not be able to help me.But who could it be? Who had such audacity to make a deal with rogues?“Die!” I growled, kicking a shifted rogue away, and before he could get up, a figure slashed his neck, Lisa.I glanced around, watching as the women fought. Their initial fear was nowhere to be seen, that was an advantage werewolves have.Fighting and shedding blood was in our veins, it was who we are. Even though the women had not witnessed or parti
Kyra's POV Violet and the others have never faced such a confrontation before, and I could see their pale faces even in the dark.My face turned slightly grim as more rogues began to emerge from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with sharp killing intents. The one in lead glanced at the dead rogue at my feet, and his face gradually turned eerie cold. He had a hideous scar that stretched from his eyebrows to his forehead, and it looked fresh and red, looking as though ants were walking on his face with his deep frown.“I have to applaud your guts,” the rogue began, his voice cold and harsh against the ear. “Killing my people as soon as we arrived, you've definitely eaten a leopard's gut.”I scoffed, gripping my sword tight as Violet and the others managed to stand behind me. “So, you expect me to wait for death? I have heard the foolishness of you all, but I never got to experience it personally. Now, you've opened my eyes.”Of course, I have never been one to hold back towards my ene
George's POV The guard gave a bow in my direction before replying with a hint of hesitation in his tone, “Following the Alpha's order, we did not permit Last Diana an entry into the mansion and now, she's having a confrontation with us using her guards. We couldn't handle it without getting physical, so I decided to make the report.”Instantly, Felix turned to me with a grim face that seemed as though water wanted to drip from it, “You asked them not to allow her in?”I nodded without a change in my expression, “Yes. She was involved in the event that happened last night, not just Matt.”A glint flashed in Felix's eyes before his gaze hardened again, “So? Didn't she do that just to allow you to see Kyra's true figure? She must have also noticed something wrong about her.”My temper rose instantly, and I spat, “Felix!”He swallowed back the next words at the tip of his tongue, but before he could say another word, I had already risen to my feet.“Lead the way.” I told the guard, and w
George's POVI knew that she might not remember, but hearing it from her makes me feel very uncomfortable. I had been unable to sleep well because each time I closed my eyes, the memory of how I had taken her lips would flash in my head, lingering and refusing to fade. The sensation of having my cold lips on her warm ones and the contradictory feeling felt so surreal that I couldn't stop my mind from recalling the process.I never knew what it meant to have your heart skip multiple beats until that moment when I tasted the sweetness of her lips. And, damn me, I was addicted. As soon as I walked into the guest room, the first thing that caught my eye was her swollen and red lips. Even though I was angry at the fact that someone dared to spike her drink under my nose, I couldn't help but be grateful because it allowed us to share a kiss I wouldn't dare to do normally. 'Just admit that you are a pervert. You almost did the deed last night.' Raine snorted, interrupting my thought proce
Kyra's POV I hurriedly stood to my feet, scanning the environment with sharp eyes, and the women also stood up after me. They took their weapons and took a defensive stance as they quickly moved towards me without a word. The shadows flashed past, and my face turned cold. My eyes narrowed towards the darkened woods, but after that momentary and barely perceptible movement, it was quiet.“Did you see that?” I whispered to Violet, who was beside me.Violet glanced up, her eyes wide with bafflement. “See what?”I frowned, lowering my voice. "Something is moving in the forest. Did you not see it?”Violet shook her head without hesitation, “No, I did not see anything, and I'm certain the others didn't as well. We only stood up because you shouted. What is it? A wild animal?”They didn't see anything? But I was certain that I saw something. I gave my reply, “Bigger than a wild animal.”Violet's expression also turned slightly solemn, and her hold on the blade she was holding tightened.“S
Kyra's POV Even though the women were excited, they became exhausted after defeating the boar; unused to the sudden change in environment, the weight of supplies and the long trek had weighed on them. But I knew they would get used to it in no time.“As I said, we will set up here,” I repeated, seeing that none of them was making any move.Without glancing at them, I dropped the bag strapped to my shoulder and began to arrange my stuff. That was when something suddenly occurred to me, and I stopped.I turned around and glanced at the women who had been oddly quiet since I spoke up to see them whispering among themselves with confusion in their faces. When they felt my gaze, they quickly kept quiet and began to drop their bags. But still, they only dawdled around without doing anything. My conjecture was finally confirmed, and I spoke up gently, but loud enough for everyone of them to hear, “Can you set up a tent?”This time, they were slow to reply, and I got my answer They glanced
