Kyra's POV
My blood ran cold at the sight before me. It wasn't even up to a week, and they betrayed me. Prince Roan didn't have plans to come and save me. He was here fucking some other woman! I was his beloved. His mate. He was everything— or so I thought.
My teary eyes reddened as I took a step forward, ready to barge into them and give Helen a slap she would not recover from in a hurry.
I fucking saved the bitch’s life back at Moonshine Pack!
“Hey, slave. What are you doing here?” Someone called from behind me. I froze and slowly turned to see one of the guards standing right in front of me.
His eyes widened, “Gamma Kyra,”
“Yes. It's me. So let me be,” I replied, angry and heartbroken, filled with so much rage.
“I'm sorry, but we heard you're dead.” He mentioned, and I spat,
“It would take more than one pack to erase me,” my voice cold. Void of any emotions, I turned, ignoring the guard. My thoughts and mind were filled with what I had just seen and heard.
Helen is like my apprentice, my closest friend, she knows how much I love Roan. She knows… she dared to do this to me!
“I'm sorry, ma, but I cannot let you in.” The guard grabbed my arm, but I was faster than he was. My knee went hard for his stomach, and he groaned.
“Guards!” He yelled. But I quickly pushed the door open. Helen and Prince Roan paused to look, I watched their eyes widen.
“The fuck,” I muttered. Marching right at them, I yelled, “How dare you both do this to me?!”
Before I could take more steps, I was grabbed from behind. I kicked and fought, but they were more than one. I struggled to remain standing, but I was forced to my knees.
“Kyra. I thought you were dead,” Roan finally came down from the bed. He was in his shorts while Helen remained on the bed. A small smile graced her lips. My jaws clenched.
“How could you?” I asked, tears rolling down my cheeks, yet my voice echoed with anger.
I saw pain in his eyes. He avoided my gaze; he didn't mean to, but he did anyway.
“Why didn't you come to save me?” I asked again, but he didn't respond.
“My Prince, the Alpha has asked that she be brought to the Pack square,” one of the guards reported, and I saw Roan nod, granting them permission.
“Roan? Roan?” I called, but he turned his back on me. He didn't say a word, and neither did Helen. I struggled to get off their grip, but they were stronger.
Like every other criminal or traitor in the pack, I was pushed to the ground in the Pack square. Dust was finding their way into my mouth and eyes.
I jolted up from the ground, not giving anyone the opportunity to see me weak. I watched the pack members gather around me. Everyone stood around me, waiting for the sentence to pass—For goddess knows what.
Whispers and murmuring that turned to noise echoed around the Pack square until the Alpha arrived, causing everyone to turn mute.
They were guards around me. I watched the Alpha take a seat, and Roan followed, sitting beside him.
“It has come to my notice that our Gamma has given our information out to the enemy, leaving us bare—”
“That's not true!” A hot slap from one of the guards shut me up almost immediately. I heard my ears ring and my eyes filled with tears.
“She was captured and she gave out the information about the Pack's secret passage and all that is needed to weaken us to our enemy. She is a traitor!”
Everyone screamed after him, “Traitor!”
My eyes moved from the Alpha's to Roan, he wasn't looking at me. I knew the Alpha never liked me. But Roan has promised me that he loves me. Will he sit there and watch the people call me a traitor?
“I swear,” I fell to my knees, “I will never betray my pack. I am a born Red Sky Pack member.”
“You are not a Red Sky Member. You will never be a member of the Red Sky, We thought we could change you. Make you different from what you originally were by taking you in, but you can never be like us. You can never leave your people.”
My head continued to spin, my vision turned to blur as I tried to comprehend what the Alpha was talking about.
“Alpha, please—”
“I am not your Alpha! You traitor! We heard it loud and clear from the people who escaped the pack how you told them about us. About our number of men, our passage, and how to get to us. We know what you did!”
“I swear, I didn't—” I cried. My eyes searched for those whom I had asked Alpha George to release. Where are they? They should come and tell the truth.
“Prince Roan,” Alpha Richard called, “In a few weeks, you'll be crowned the new Alpha with Miss Helen as your Luna. Can you pass the sentence to this traitor?”
I watched how Roan stood, bold and confident. His dark eyes were sharp on me, while my sad eyes stared back at him. He knows me, he knows me too well to pass judgment for me to be thrown in the dungeon. I would never betray my pack. He knows.
“Roan—”
“I, Ryan Richard, sentence you, Kyra Dew, to death.”
My hands found their way to my mouth as I gasped in shock, What?!
“I… I didn't…”
“For all the betrayals and the lies. I, Ryan Richard, also reject you as my mate. You are not fit for me nor the crown. You do not even have a Red sky blood in you. You are a disgrace! Take her away. Make sure she is beheaded behind the large rock and bury her body there.”
“Traitor! Traitor! Traitor!” The people sang as I was dragged up. Tied up with ropes on both hands.
My eyes fell on Helen, she was by Roan's side, a smirk on her face. I screamed,
“Helen! Why aren't you telling the truth?! Aladdin! Victor!” But no one answered me.
I was dragged like an animal outside the pack. My heart is beating very fast. I do not want to die. I cannot die for this. It was an injustice.
“Sorry, darling. But I knew you always wanted to be the Gamma who marries the prince. Luna, my foot!” Brandon stated, causing the other two warriors to burst into laughter.
“A girl as the Gamma. Over my dead body!”
“And she's not even from the Red Sky pack!”
“Some nerves,” they kept blabbering, but I wasn't paying attention. I needed to escape, no matter what. I cannot die.
I could see the rock in front of me. My calculating eyes didn't stop calculating even when the people who followed us had stopped a few minutes ago, they weren't allowed to pass the boundary. I gnashed my teeth and hit hard with my elbow one of the guards in the gut.
“Arggh!” He groaned and fell on his knees.
Using the rope, I circled it around Brandon and dragged him to the ground, before stepping on his face so hard, his nose broke.
“Arghhhh!”
I kicked the other guy flying before I began to run, with my hands still tied.
“After her!” I heard the loud order. It was Brandon.
It was getting dark, but I didn't stop running. I looked back and saw that they were out of sight, but I couldn't stop now. I need to keep running!
“Ahhhh!” I screamed as I fell into a bit pit I didn't know was in front of me. But someone held the rope, causing my body to hit the side of the pit. The inside was dark, but so was the outside.
Who saved me?
“Gotta!” I heard a voice, and my heart froze.
Kyra's POV I hacked a rogue down with my sword, and his head was severed from the rest of his body. Blood flowed like a fountain, painting me in red and the earth in another color. However, I kept a part of attention on the leader, who had a solemn expression on his face. One thing I was sure of is that these rogues were sent by someone close to me, and that person wants me dead. If not dead, then the person wants to kill one of the women, and by doing so, I might have to go through a series of questions back in the pack.Even Alpha George will not be able to help me.But who could it be? Who had such audacity to make a deal with rogues?“Die!” I growled, kicking a shifted rogue away, and before he could get up, a figure slashed his neck, Lisa.I glanced around, watching as the women fought. Their initial fear was nowhere to be seen, that was an advantage werewolves have.Fighting and shedding blood was in our veins, it was who we are. Even though the women had not witnessed or parti
Kyra's POV Violet and the others have never faced such a confrontation before, and I could see their pale faces even in the dark.My face turned slightly grim as more rogues began to emerge from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with sharp killing intents. The one in lead glanced at the dead rogue at my feet, and his face gradually turned eerie cold. He had a hideous scar that stretched from his eyebrows to his forehead, and it looked fresh and red, looking as though ants were walking on his face with his deep frown.“I have to applaud your guts,” the rogue began, his voice cold and harsh against the ear. “Killing my people as soon as we arrived, you've definitely eaten a leopard's gut.”I scoffed, gripping my sword tight as Violet and the others managed to stand behind me. “So, you expect me to wait for death? I have heard the foolishness of you all, but I never got to experience it personally. Now, you've opened my eyes.”Of course, I have never been one to hold back towards my ene
George's POV The guard gave a bow in my direction before replying with a hint of hesitation in his tone, “Following the Alpha's order, we did not permit Last Diana an entry into the mansion and now, she's having a confrontation with us using her guards. We couldn't handle it without getting physical, so I decided to make the report.”Instantly, Felix turned to me with a grim face that seemed as though water wanted to drip from it, “You asked them not to allow her in?”I nodded without a change in my expression, “Yes. She was involved in the event that happened last night, not just Matt.”A glint flashed in Felix's eyes before his gaze hardened again, “So? Didn't she do that just to allow you to see Kyra's true figure? She must have also noticed something wrong about her.”My temper rose instantly, and I spat, “Felix!”He swallowed back the next words at the tip of his tongue, but before he could say another word, I had already risen to my feet.“Lead the way.” I told the guard, and w
George's POVI knew that she might not remember, but hearing it from her makes me feel very uncomfortable. I had been unable to sleep well because each time I closed my eyes, the memory of how I had taken her lips would flash in my head, lingering and refusing to fade. The sensation of having my cold lips on her warm ones and the contradictory feeling felt so surreal that I couldn't stop my mind from recalling the process.I never knew what it meant to have your heart skip multiple beats until that moment when I tasted the sweetness of her lips. And, damn me, I was addicted. As soon as I walked into the guest room, the first thing that caught my eye was her swollen and red lips. Even though I was angry at the fact that someone dared to spike her drink under my nose, I couldn't help but be grateful because it allowed us to share a kiss I wouldn't dare to do normally. 'Just admit that you are a pervert. You almost did the deed last night.' Raine snorted, interrupting my thought proce
Kyra's POV I hurriedly stood to my feet, scanning the environment with sharp eyes, and the women also stood up after me. They took their weapons and took a defensive stance as they quickly moved towards me without a word. The shadows flashed past, and my face turned cold. My eyes narrowed towards the darkened woods, but after that momentary and barely perceptible movement, it was quiet.“Did you see that?” I whispered to Violet, who was beside me.Violet glanced up, her eyes wide with bafflement. “See what?”I frowned, lowering my voice. "Something is moving in the forest. Did you not see it?”Violet shook her head without hesitation, “No, I did not see anything, and I'm certain the others didn't as well. We only stood up because you shouted. What is it? A wild animal?”They didn't see anything? But I was certain that I saw something. I gave my reply, “Bigger than a wild animal.”Violet's expression also turned slightly solemn, and her hold on the blade she was holding tightened.“S
Kyra's POV Even though the women were excited, they became exhausted after defeating the boar; unused to the sudden change in environment, the weight of supplies and the long trek had weighed on them. But I knew they would get used to it in no time.“As I said, we will set up here,” I repeated, seeing that none of them was making any move.Without glancing at them, I dropped the bag strapped to my shoulder and began to arrange my stuff. That was when something suddenly occurred to me, and I stopped.I turned around and glanced at the women who had been oddly quiet since I spoke up to see them whispering among themselves with confusion in their faces. When they felt my gaze, they quickly kept quiet and began to drop their bags. But still, they only dawdled around without doing anything. My conjecture was finally confirmed, and I spoke up gently, but loud enough for everyone of them to hear, “Can you set up a tent?”This time, they were slow to reply, and I got my answer They glanced
