George's POV

“Can you walk?” I asked her softly, and she was about to nod her head when she suddenly paused as though she had thought of something before shaking her head in denial, not meeting my gaze.

She has been behaving in an odd manner since I arrived, but I didn't think much of it and chalked it up to her being weak.

“Our horses are a few distances away from here, and we have to bring the women along, so I might have to carry you. Is that okay?”

She didn't hesitate to reply, “Yes, it's fine.”

Without waiting a second longer, I bent slightly and hooked my arm around the back of her knee, and with the other hand wrapped around her waist, I lifted her up effortlessly.

That was when I noticed how light she was and I furrowed my brows. She doesn't look light and can even be called slightly buff due to her physique, but carrying her felt different.

She was even lighter than a piece of paper.

I lowered my head to glance at her just in time to see a red hue on both her cheeks, and m

George's POV “Definitely, these rogues have been planning this for a while, and their target is Kyra. Could it be that she has offended one of their leaders? This is more believable because that woman has offended quite a lot of people. I won't be surprised if they are after her because of this.” Felix stated while leaning back in the chair.“The female warriors were injured as well; their plan isn't just to take Kyra. I have a feeling that they were sent by someone.” I replied, coldly staring at him, and he let out a scoff but did not refute it.It was suspicious how they were able to find out Kyra's location even when I didn't know anything. What was even more suspicious was the fact that they sent one of their leading figures to capture her; it was certainly not as simple as it looked.Thinking of what they could have done for her if I had not arrived on time was enough to have me boiling in rage.“Are you saying that there's a spy among the female warriors or around us?” He asked

George's POV “Who is there? Do you know who I am?” The man in lead spat, his hands reaching for the sword strapped across his waist. What replied to him was the sound of an arrow breaking through the air and penetrating the forehead of the rogues close to him, slamming him against the ground. The rogue's body twitched for a few seconds, before he stopped moving completely, his body becoming stiff. The leader watched this with a grim expression and gestured to his men, who quickly formed a triangular formation while studying the darkness ahead with their guards raised to the maximum. I watched all this in my position as my men waited for my order.A single gesture, and another arrow was fired. The men were prepared, and they managed to parry the arrows, but two arrows were able to hit two rogues, and they fell on their knees, dead. The leader's face turned even uglier as though he had swallowed a fly, but my expression remained cold.Who would have thought that there were so many ro

Kyra's POV “Attach latches to their necks and bring them over. She thinks she's untouchable? I will show her the real boss here.” The leader commanded coldly, and my face turned red in extreme anger and humiliation. Who were these rogues? Why were they so fixed on taking me?Despite my struggle, I could only watch as the female warriors were taken towards the leader with bloodshot eyes. Those that have shifted could not shift back because of the rogues, so the rogues had to attach latches to their necks to drag them. The likes of Lisa, Imari, and Violet were too stubborn and unwilling, so they were captured using the restraining net. It was a well-known instrument used to capture warriors in their shifted state. The net had little to no holes, and it was thin yet sturdy. The net had a special ability, and that's where its name came from - restraining werewolves. The more you struggle, the tighter the net becomes. I watched as the net tightened around Imari and the two others, and

Kyra's POV I hacked a rogue down with my sword, and his head was severed from the rest of his body. Blood flowed like a fountain, painting me in red and the earth in another color. However, I kept a part of attention on the leader, who had a solemn expression on his face. One thing I was sure of is that these rogues were sent by someone close to me, and that person wants me dead. If not dead, then the person wants to kill one of the women, and by doing so, I might have to go through a series of questions back in the pack.Even Alpha George will not be able to help me.But who could it be? Who had such audacity to make a deal with rogues?“Die!” I growled, kicking a shifted rogue away, and before he could get up, a figure slashed his neck, Lisa.I glanced around, watching as the women fought. Their initial fear was nowhere to be seen, that was an advantage werewolves have.Fighting and shedding blood was in our veins, it was who we are. Even though the women had not witnessed or parti

  • MATED TO MY NEMESIS    Chapter 70: Rogues.

Kyra's POV Violet and the others have never faced such a confrontation before, and I could see their pale faces even in the dark.My face turned slightly grim as more rogues began to emerge from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with sharp killing intents. The one in lead glanced at the dead rogue at my feet, and his face gradually turned eerie cold. He had a hideous scar that stretched from his eyebrows to his forehead, and it looked fresh and red, looking as though ants were walking on his face with his deep frown.“I have to applaud your guts,” the rogue began, his voice cold and harsh against the ear. “Killing my people as soon as we arrived, you've definitely eaten a leopard's gut.”I scoffed, gripping my sword tight as Violet and the others managed to stand behind me. “So, you expect me to wait for death? I have heard the foolishness of you all, but I never got to experience it personally. Now, you've opened my eyes.”Of course, I have never been one to hold back towards my ene
