King Grimgor's POV

"Father. What has my wife done? I have never seen you this distressed," I ask once my father shifts back to his human.

"Distressed?. How could I be because of a little girl?" He shrugged and left.

Funny enough, he didn't know I heard part of the conversation. He must have recognized Veronica by now. It's up to her to save herself. I am done being kind and all that.

"Get up, Vera." I pushed her body down on the bare floor, but she didn't move. It's just surprising how she is a pro at pretense and acting. "Get up already; he is gone."

She wouldn't wake up. I checked her breathing and noticed that it was surprisingly getting more and more slow.

"What's the deal with you? Wake up, Veronica.

I picked her up and rushed to the pack's royal clinic. The doctors immediately took her in and started treating her. I waited outside, pacing back and forth, praying for her to be okay.
