Jake’s POV

I watched her reaction and couldn't help but smirk. I mean she already knew something was up from the moment I had prepared breakfast. I never cooked.

I have thought long and hard then finally decided to let my parents know about my intention to divorce Ann when the party was over.

“You don't mean that Jake,” Ann’s voice felt choked as she spoke.

“I do Ann. I told you already that I am done. I have fallen out of love with you.” I said to her then finished up my black coffee.

I needed to meet my baby before the party. I missed her already. I stood up immediately as I went to dump my plates in the sink. I mean I cooked so she could do us the honors of doing the dishes.

Ann stood up and walked towards me,

“Jake, let's talk. I mean our emotions have been on overdrive since last night. Let’s talk things out okay?” She pleaded. 

I looked into her bright shining eyes and knew if I looked further I could fall again for her so I looked away immediately clearing my throat.

“I’m headed to my office. I will probably meet you here at 5pm.” I said and headed towards the door.

“Jake….Jake…. Ahhh!” Ann called me and immediately screamed. 

I spurned around in surprise and didn't need an explanation when I saw droplets of blood on the floor.

“Sit down Ann! For chrissake we have spoken about this. Why do you make everything so complicated?!” I yelled at her, angry at her for being strong-headed and her clumsiness.

I immediately went to the kitchen cabinet where we kept the first aid box. I knew I shouldn't be doing this considering the fact that I was asking her for a divorce but I just couldn't leave her there. That would be too evil of me.

Ann hopped on one leg and sat down. I could feel her eyes watching my every move. I soon cleaned up her leg injury and got it bandaged.

When I was done and wanted to stand up as I had been squatting in front of her the whole time her hands went round my neck.

“Please Jake… let’s talk things out. What exactly am I not doing right? You just need to tell me and I will work on it. I mean couples most times have issues but communication always does the magic.” She suggested looking at me with those pitiful doe eyes, her lips slightly curved downward.

This was exactly the expression she made when she was sad about something and was on the verge of tears. I hoped she didn't cry. One thing I knew clearly was I could never stand a woman's tears especially if I was the one who caused it.

 “Ann, there is nothing we can do about this. About us. We are done.” I said to her firmly as I arranged the first aid materials into the box and went back to keep it in its right place.

I didn't hear a word from Ann and made sure not to look back at her. I couldn't be acting caring now. Those times were over.

I drove immediately to my baby’s condo and by the time the front door opened I was pulled inside with a desperate lips crushing mine.
