When we went downstairs, Cain didn't leave my hand. He had our fingers intertwined. And when we arrived at the parlor, he sat close to me, making sure that we were touching.

For some reason, he felt like I was going to vanish into thin air or something. "I'm glad you're feeling better." Sheila said from next to Morgana.

"Yes, Delia, we were very worried." James, Sheila's son, said from next to her.

I smiled at both of them, "Thank you."

My eyes drifted to Morgana, who looked at me with sad eyes, "You should have known better than to exhaust yourself like that. You stretched yourself thin."

"Believe me when I say that I didn't have much of a choice." I retorted, "But there's a more pressing matter right now."

"Cain told me about the Talisman." Morgana nodded, and I wondered when they became on a first name basis.

"I want to find the magical signature on it." I told her, and she knitted her eyebrows together.
