CHAPTER 7 : MEETING THE SMITHS

After the breakfast Aiden was bored being alone so he wandered around the house, till he noticed madam Smith having a new car time alone so he decided to join her.

"you care to join?" she offered

"can I join? "

" sure, you can, have your seat... get him a drink" she ordered

Aiden swallowed hard and sat down opposite her , he had a great time with her cos she got very fond of him. After a lot of fun she finally spoke up frankly

"I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Damien brought someone home"

" And why is that ma"

" The Damien I raised has been hostile since he became a teenager till now"

" And did you know what happened that made him that way?"

" It was ever since their parents death,he became like that after he woke up from coma for two years"

" Ohhh,I'm so sorry about that grandma"

"it's not your fault dear"

While they were busy talking, Charlie walked in and told Aiden he should get ready for the shopping

"Where have you been?, that you left him alone"

" I ran an errand for Charles so I had to leave the house, get ready in the next 20 minutes..we will leave then"

" okay... grandma I really hate to say I'm leaving now"he pouted

" it's okay dear, I understand we will talk when you're back" she said

 

Aiden was really quiet during the drive,

"Aiden!"

"He is so pitiful, he was in coma for two years that must have been really tiring for him...wait why I'm I been bothered?"

" Aiden!..."

" huh!" he trembled

" Are you okay?you seem lost in thought are you okay? Don't you like your stay here?

"I do, don't worry about me let just go"

They got to the mall, Aiden knew that the clothes were really expensive as Charlie asked him to keep on trying them on, so he tried to check for cheap ones

"there's no way you're taking that" Charlie scoffed

" erm...I like this"

" okay, just one if those please else Damien will skin me alive for buying you cheap stuffs"

" But..."

" No buts"

Aiden began to check for other clothes but the price tags scared him off,Charlie noticed this so everything Aiden chose were packed

He offered to carry the bags, but Charlie laughed it  off

"ohh come on,let him do his job,that's what he is paid for" Charlie smiled

After shopping they had lunch at a Japanese restaurant,it was screaming wealth when the dishes were served

"wow!" he exclaimed

"you love them right?"

"of course I do senior"

"senior?, just call me Charlie, besides I'm not that older than you,just two years"

" o..o..okay" he stuttered and smiled

" enjoy your lunch " Charlie smiled

As they were eating,Aiden Asked Charlie some questions about Damien

"And why did you ask that, of course we love the way you accompanied us at least I get to have someone who can always hangout with me"

" ohh, well I noticed y'all names start with c why is Damien's own different?"

" I don't know the whole story but I knew he doesn't like it when she call him that name"

" And what's the name? if I may ask"

"Charlton...,but don't call him that,cos he might get really pissed"

" hmm I see,but when is he coming back?"

"I'm not sure but I'm not thinking it's today...are you done, cos I still have places to be and I need to attend my friend's party "

" can I follow you?"

" huh!, hell no... Damien is no gonna agree to  that, besides it's not save for a newbie like you"

" ohh please... please...it's not like I'm gonna tell Him and it's not like he's my boyfriend? and besides I'm straight so "he pouted

" Not your boyfriend? so what then?"

"if I'm to tell it's someone who abducted me on the day I'm supposed to do some important things"he chuckled

" but you guys had a thing?"

" yh...I guess...we did had a thing but it's not worth keeping me hostage" he Said and stood up

" hmmm, now I understand..." he chuckled

" whatever..."Aiden pouted

" okay, let's leave then "

Didn’t the person who brought you here teach you the ethics of strange places?" Mike warned, his voice dripping with mock concern. "Err… let’s not talk about him for now. It’s a waste of time," Aiden hissed, the thought of Damien and Jessica making his chest tighten with fresh annoyance. M

    "Why am I even at this party full of high-class citizens? It's not like we had… sex more than once," I murmured to myself, leaning against a pillar in the corner of the grand ballroom. The words felt bitter on my tongue. I was just a student from a café, a temporary distraction in a world of silk and secrets. "What did you say?" a voice interrupted sharply from behind me. "Ugh! Sorry for disturbing you," I blurted out, spinning around and bowing instinctively. I started to walk away, my face burning with embarrassment, but a hand reached out and grabbed my wrist. "Seems you don’t remember me again… and after I sent you that text." I blinked, looking up into a pair of familiar, playful eyes. "Ohhh, it’s you… Mike! Finally, I can talk to someone I actually understand," I said, a genuine smile breaking through my anxiety. "Yeah, of course it’s me. How have you been, Aiden? And tell me, are you related to the Smiths? I saw you arrive with them earlier," he asked, raising an eyebrow

    Sean had known the moment he heard Jessica’s sharp, entitled voice over the phone that the evening’s peace was over. He had stood at the edge of the dining hall for several minutes, watching the silhouette of Damien and Aiden through the glass. He had seen something he hadn't seen in years: Damien looking genuinely relaxed, even amused. "Sir..." Sean had hesitated, almost turning back to give his boss just ten more minutes of happiness. But Damien’s eyes, sharp as a hawk’s, had already locked onto him. "What is it?" Damien asked, his voice returning to that cold, clipped Japanese. When they arrived, Aiden’s cool exterior crumbled. The architecture was a stunning blend of traditional Japanese woodwork and modern glass. "Wow! This is beautiful!
