EPISODE 6: MAKING NEW FRIENDS..

I stood in the corridor with the other kids who had just arrived. Everyone had such an expectant look on their face, as if they were happy to be brought to the academy.

I stood next to a young girl, trying to carry her luggages. She had another in her hand, but she still struggled to carry the others.

" May I help you?".

I leaned forward and smiled.

She lifted her head and smiled back.

" Thanks". She said.

" Hi, I'm Maya".

She introduced herself.

" Hi, Maya, my name is Ivanna"

I held her bags and we both stood in front.

The academy's principal, Mrs O'Neil came.

She handed us the rules and regulations of the academy and then assigned us to our dorms.

Luckily, Maya and I had been selected to bunk together. She had such an ecstatic look on her face after realising that we would be bunking together.

" Awesome".

She tossed her luggage to the floor and opened the curtains.

" This is beautiful"

She looked over the school, grinning as if she had just won the lottery.

I chuckled calmly and just went straight to unpack. I was busy doing that, when someone threw a paper underneath the door.

Maya walked forward, and she picked up the letter.

" What's in it?". I asked.

As she replies, " It's a party". .

" What party?". I asked again.

" Freshers, and we are being invited"

She danced around the room.

Maya acted like it was the first time she had been invited to a party.

"Are you going?".

She placed one of the invitation cards on the table.

" Going? No". I answered as I continued unpacking.

" Why aren't you going?"

" Please! Come".

She stood in front of me.

But I looked at her and said.

" No!".

After refusing to attend the party.

Everywhere became quiet..

Maya refused to talk to me.

And even when I tried to strike up a conversation with her, she brushes me off and things get further complicated. see

"Fine! I'll go with you". I finally gave in to her silent treatment.

" Awesome".

She tossed her dress to me.

" What! Do you want me to wear this?".

Looking at the dress, I asked her.

" Obviously! Or do you have something to wear?". She asked me..

I had to go through my luggage, and after going through it, I finally realised that there wasn't anything.

" Thank you for the dress".

I took it and went into the bathroom to change..

I came back a few minutes later.

" Awwn! You look beautiful". .

She offered me her necklace and hairpin.

" Beautiful?". I beamed..

" Thanks". I continued..

Maya didn't take much time getting dressed. She left the moment she put on her shoes.

The party was being held at the back of the academy. The entire place was free and there were lots of green trees everywhere...

" Drink, my kind sir". .

Maya spoke to the man at the bar..

" What drink do you want?".

Asked, the grumpy man standing behind the counter.

He gave us two bottles of beer.

Maya held one and gave me the other..

" How are you feeling?"

She noticed the way my eyes kept moving.

"I'm fine, I'm just hot.

I blew cold air inside my dress...

Maya became worried.

" Do you want to go back to the room?

She questioned and was also willing to go back with me.

However, I shook my head and said.

"No, I am fine ". I beamed..

She took my response seriously and then suggested that we go out and have some fun.

Some people at the academy arrived.

Maya, then suggested that we go over there and make friends.

I don't usually like talking, and neither am I a fan of making new friends. But, nevertheless, I took that step and decided to join her..

" Hello ".

She waved at them as I stood behind and watched.

" Hi, you're a fresher?'

A girl putting on a blue jacket, spoke.

" Yes, I am".

" And this is my friend"..

She leaned closer.

I didn't know what to say.

So, I kept quiet..

Shortly after, Maya was offered a chair..

I, too, was given, but it was next to a boy with a horrid expression on his face.

" Want something to drink?".

The boy offered me..

I shook my head and then replied.

" No, I'm good " .

He smiled and then said.

" Hi, I'm Lucas Hart ".

He introduced himself to me..

"Hi, I'm Ivanna ".

I equally introduced myself..

"Nice to meet you".

We both locked eyes for a moment.

Everyone at the party seemed to be having a good time. Meanwhile, Maya and her new friends were seated secluded from the other students

" Why are we alone?".

Curious, I questioned Lucas.

" Alone? We are called the VIPs ".

He said, proudly.

" VIPs?".

" How lovely ".

I chuckled nervously.

We stayed back until, it was finally time to leave. Maya didn't want to go, so she began resisting. And it didn't matter how much I tried to make her understand? She wasn't willing to stand up and leave with me.

Seeing that, Lucas volunteered to walk me back to my dorm.

" So tell me, are you a wolf or a vampire?".

We were talking towards the elevator when he asked me. .

" I'm both". I replied.

He looked at my face and laughed.

"Both? You don't look like a hybrid" .

He calls the actual name. .

" Really?".

" What does a hybrid look like?".

He's counterance changed as I left me to answer. .

" Fierce and strong" I replied.

" I am strong, you haven't been able to understand me yet".

I said to him, as he walked back to my dorm.

We got there, he hugged me and then left.

I went into the Bathroom and changed into something more comfortable.

I stared at myself in the mirror, worried yet satisfied that everything would come back to normal.

Even the sun shines in the morning.
