Chapter 6

I opened my eyes to the sound of my alarm clock. I lay down on the bed, wondering what I had just dreamt about. The more I thought about it, the more disgusted I felt. I didn't dream about Damon's hard, hot body pressing on mine, but Olivers.

"Ewwh," it was really grossing me out. I looked around, and that was when I noticed that I was actually in my bedroom.

"I can't remember falling asleep here," I thought to myself. Of course Oliver carried me into my bed. I jumped off the bed to find out what had happened to my mischievous best friend. I saw him in my kitchen making breakfast.

I kept mute for a while. I wanted to understand why I had dreamt about him. There was nothing so appealing about him; he didn't grow any inch taller than he was, his hair was a bit scattered, and it was the same Oliver, who, although born with a diamond spoon, refused to work for his family. I was grossed out just looking at him.

I made up my mind to visit the clinic today, and since there is no logical explanation for that stupid dream, it became obvious that I was coming down with something.

"What are you doing in someone's kitchen?"

"You mean our kitchen."

"I'm not up for an argument with you again," I snapped at him.

"Why are you so grumpy? Is it your time of the month?"

"Your head," I said, snatching a bowel of food from the counter.

"That isn't yours; there are onions in it."

"Whatever," I said, then took another one. Oliver knows how much I hate cooked onions.

I shook my head in disbelief as I made my way to the bathroom. The last thing I want is another argument with Oliver. The last argument I had with him I ended up having that nasty dream that I can't seem to get off my head.

I grabbed my toothbrush and brushed my mouth vigorously to wash off every remnant of kissing Oliver in the dream.

"Charmer, your phone; should I get it". I heard him scream. I quickly emptied my mouth and rinsed it off as I ran out of the bathroom.

The last thing I want is to let Oliver go anywhere near my phone; the last time he did, I spent the rest of the summer convincing my ex-boyfriend that I don't snore while sleeping.

He was almost about to pick up my phone when I dived it.

"Nice diving charmer," he said while laughing.

I eyeballed him as I took my phone from the couch.

"Damon!" I screamed as I looked at the phone screen.

"Who now?"

"Shhhhhh!" I screamed while placing my index finger on my lips.

He smiled and continued with whatever he was doing. I cleared my throat and picked up the call.

"Hello," I spoke into the receiver. He went on about how beautiful the morning was and how he enjoyed our dinner; his voice was just so melodious. I was still talking with him on the phone when the doorbell rang.

"I bought you a little something to celebrate our first day." I quickly sprang off the couch and went to answer the door.

The delivery guy handed me a green gift box tied with a cream-white ribbon. I took it from him while he showed me where to sign it. I signed it quickly and bade him farewell, shutting the door behind him.

"I hope you like it," Damon said, and I was about to reply to him.

"What's the fuss about?" Oliver asked, holding a bottle of water in his hands.

"Who is that?" Damon asked upon hearing Oliver's voice.

"No one, it's the delivery guy; I totally forgot to sign." I quickly chipped in. I ran to Oliver and grabbed his mouth while begging him to shut up.

He yanked my hands off his mouth while he licked his lips. He tried to talk again, but I had already escaped to the room with the gift box, shut the door, and sighed in relief.

"Are you still there, Charm?"

"Of course, I'm about to unbox the gift." I quickly tore the ribbon off and opened the box to see a beautiful Tiffany diamond jewelry.

"Oh my goodness!" I screamed.

"What?"

"It's beautiful!"

"Do you like it?"

"I love it; thank you, Damon."

I happily screamed while examining the diamond necklace and earrings.

"I saw the glittering earrings, and it reminded me of how ravishing and beautiful you looked at the dinner. Your beautiful eyes are something to die for. I hope you will wear them at dinner tonight."

Now, I don't know about you, but Damon was actually hitting all the right places and doing the right things, so it's only natural that I give in to all his demands. Do tell me one reason why I shouldn't date a billionaire. I met him two days ago, and he already gave me a gift that will take all these broke asses a lifetime to acquire.

"Of course I will," I quickly replied, smiling sheepishly while wriggling on the bed.

"Enjoy your day, charm," he ended the call.

I put on my necklace and went to admire myself in the mirror.

I posed in the mirror, turning from one side to another while admiring myself.

"Charmer, aren't you going to work today?" Oliver's scream reminded me that I needed to be at work right now. I opened the door and was about to hurry into the bathroom when Oliver grabbed my arm.

"What's that on your neck?" he asked. I touched my neck to find my very expensive necklace on my neck. I quickly took it off and put it back in the box.

I hurriedly prepared for work while Oliver offered to drop me off. He made a quick stop at the coffee shop, and came out with two cups of coffee.

"An Americano with a double shot of hazelnut syrup for you, while this is for me," he said while he handed the coffee to me.

"Thanks Oly."

"Charmer, don't you find your new guy suspicious?"

"Ummm, nooooo, the only thing I find suspicious is that he is not spending as much as I want."

"Kill me" he said while he rolled his eyes at me.

"I think he is moving a bit too fast."

"That's because he is enchanted by me."

"Really, that's all you could think of"

"Please, smarty, keep your suspicions to yourself; you should be happy that I finally found my dream man without being such a sour puss."

The car halted in front of my office, and I quickly got off while banging on his door. I got to the office to settle down for the day, but Tanner was just at it again; she was threatening fire and brimstone in her usually loud voice.

"If you know you can't keep up, then quit."

"Maybe I will one of these days," I quickly replied.

Everyone at the office was a bit shocked to hear me stand up to Tanner. I don't care about anything anymore, and before she could ever sack me, I would shove my resignation letter down her throat.

The day went by so fast, or Maybe because I have been looking forward to spending time with Damon this evening, it is already late in the evening. I pulled my ass off my desk as I happily went home to prepare for dinner.

I was really having a great time with Damon at this beautiful restaurant; everything looked perfect, and I was putting on the jewelry he got me earlier today. He didn't reserve the whole place like last time, but I was enjoying every bit of this evening.

He has such a sweet tongue, but I was more interested in his sweet pocket. I was about to take a sip out of my champagne glass when a lady sat down next to me.

I was perplexed because I didn't know the stranger, but Damon was more shocked than I am, he tried dragging her off the table but she slapped him so hard that I could feel the impact, despite not being the receiver. She turned to me and started laughing.
