Emily left the office and made her way to the bus stop to get a taxi to take her to the north side of the city. Earlier in the day, she had received a text message from Samantha demanding to meet with her at the Hot Sticks restaurant located on the north side of the city after the close of work.When she got to the bus stop, there were no taxis in sight. It is the rush hour of the day, and getting a taxi might be a little difficult, if not impossible. However, Emily knew that she must honour her date with Samantha if she wants to keep out of trouble at least in the meantime.She wondered why Samantha would not meet her at home but had decided that they meet at a restaurant a little far away from home. "You came late," Samantha accosted Emily at the doorway into the restaurant."Sorry, I could not find a taxi," Emily replied quietly."And who is that young man that just dropped you off?" Samantha inquired."Hmm... Just nobody. He was kind enough to give me a lift," Emily responded.However, Samantha did not believe her, and she felt that there was more between Emily and the young man with the black Lexus Jeep."Actually, I almost believed that it would end with Don Nick, but I see you’ve got way lower taste," Samantha mocked. Emily murmured, but no one paid any attention to her.It was as if her legs were transfixed to the spot, and all she could do was watch with a broken heart as Samantha and her cohorts walked out of the restaurant with their heads held high, leaving her to herself. As soon as their backs were no longer visible, she sank to the chair in disappointment, and it was at this point that her mind was drawn to all the things the three ladies had ordered.Hot Sticks is one of the most expensive restaurants in town, and the bill is way above what the average working class could afford. And Emily is way below the average working class level; how then do they expect her to pay for all they have consumed?All that was left with Emily were just a few dollar bills. Emily felt like strangling the kind waiter in front of her. She was never the one that consumed the food; why then did the waiter not accost Samantha and her cohorts when they were leaving the premises?To Emily, two thousand seven hundred dollars was exorbitant. It is outrageous and way above what she could afford. How can three ladies consume such an amount in just one sitting when even her family can use that for over two months? Where exactly did Samantha expect her to get such an amount?"How do you intend to pay, ma’am, by cash or card?" the waiter asked."Miss... emm..." a sweat dropped from her forehead as she fought hard to think of what to do or say."Kendra, ma’am, you can call me Kendra," the waiter said with a smile.At this point, Emily forced herself to put up a smile, too. It was with deep pain that Emily watched Kendra leave to go get the manager to attend to her case. What else can she do; she has already prepared herself mentally for what is to come. And truth be told, she has had way more embarrassment than this one, all thanks to Samantha.She fell into her seat and cast her head downward as she pondered where this would lead to. Would the manager decide to detain her until the bills are offset, which would take forever, or will they sell her off if that is possible?But then, of what use would she be to her buyer as a human? Things that could normally take her more than an hour to achieve would take a werewolf a couple of minutes, so buying her would only amount to acquiring a liability, which is what Emily has always considered herself to be.By the time she raised her head to look around, she saw that almost everyone's eyes were on her, especially those of the waiters and the security personnel.Some were staring at her in pity and zeal to bette
