“Who amongst you has a problem with Aria?" I yelled from the balcony as everyone glanced up, terrified.

"None of us are Alpha," they said as Aria and Patricia entered the pack home.

Patricia was my first mate's maid and bodyguard.

She has exceptional combat abilities and was good at her work until my mate died and she opted to care for orphans at the orphanage.

After what happened to Aria, I felt she would be the greatest person to be around since she would make sure no harm comes to her in my absence.

I had to lie to everyone, even Aria, about her being my new cook, even though I knew Aria's food was the only one I enjoyed.

When I heard a knock on my door, I requested Patricia to enter as I saw her through the transparent door.

“Alpha, she's very hard to befriend," she said.

"You need to keep trying,” I insisted.

"I truly am, but she is not giving in. I am starting to think she is just—"
