ELARA POV

"I, Silas Wolfhart, alpha of the Shadowfang Pack, hereby reject you, ELARA ANDERSON, as my mate," Silas exclaimed, making me choke on my breath.

As soon as I heard this, I couldn't help but feel my heart pound in my chest.

"After all I have done for him?" I questioned myself as I took a glance at the birthday cake I held in my hand. The cake was meant for him, Silas.

Today was his 25th birthday and that was why I had baked the cake for him. 

Silas Wolfhart was the only one who believed in me and was there for me when no one had my back and everyone despised me. 

My name is Elara Anderson, an omega and a werewolf. 

Ever since I was born, everyone despised and rejected me for one reason and the reason was because I couldn't shift into a regular wolf. 

My parents died in an accident when I was still very young and I was moved to the SHADOWFANG PACK to go and live with my Uncle and his family.

While living with my Uncle's family, his wife made my life a living hell, she turned me into a maid doing all types of house chores and not only that, she maltreated me to her satisfaction.

She accused me of being a witch, she even went the extra mile to say that I was the murderer of my Parents. 

My Uncle, Austin Anderson and my father's younger brother loved his mate so much that he joined hands in maltreating me just to make his wife happy. 

But I was lucky enough to find my mate, Silas Wolfhart in the SHADOWFANG PACK.

He was the Alpha of the SHADOWFANG PACK.

On a certain night, I made the hardest choice of my life to run away from my aunt's place and move into my mate's house. 

He was the only one who cared and catered for me ever since then, he was a sweet and faithful guy who always put me first before himself, but now the Silas I was seeing was different from the Silas I knew.

In our early days as mates, I have always believed in the strength and the bond we share, but over the past few months, I have been noticing some changes in Silas's behaviour.

Silas started Keeping secrets from me and was now uncomfortable around me. 

 Silas already knew of my predicaments of not being able to shapeshift into my wolf form. 

He had promised to be there for me at all times no matter if I could shapeshift or not but what Silas was saying now was different from what he had promised me before. 

" Why are you rejecting me as your mate, Silas?" I asked with tears in my eyes. 

"I want someone strong who is strong and can be able to make decisions as my mate and not some weakling. " Silas replied with a tone of anger. 

"But we promised to be with each other no matter the problems. " I said with tears flowing from my eyes. 

"I don't care about what you say Elara, I can't have a weakling who can't shift into her wolf as the Luna of the SHADOWFANG PACK," Silas said.

"You are now 19 years old and you still can't shift, I can't be a mate with someone like you." He said.

"I have rejected you as my mate, Elara, you can leave now. " Silas said. 

As I heard this, the cake I was holding fell and hit the ground.

I couldn't believe what I just heard, I wanted to scream and shout but I had no strength to do that, I felt tears flowing freely from my eyes.

I couldn't let everything I had worked for end this way.

"Please Silas, I know you now despise me, but I can't survive without you and you can't survive without me too," I told Silas hoping he gets back to his senses.

"I can survive without you, Elara, I just don't want you around me, it makes me feel sick," Silas said, chuckling.

"But where did I go wrong Silas, it's not my fault that I can't Shapeshift into my wolf," I said.

"As I said before, I don't care," Silas said.

At that moment, I realised that the love I once believed in was nothing but a façade. 

I felt my heart go sour.

"Can't you hear me, Elara? leave my house or do you want to get thrown out by me?" Silas shouted at me adding to my pain.

Immediately I heard this, I knew there was nothing left here for me.

I turned on my heel, tears streaming down my cheeks, and began to run out from the apartment, putting distance between myself and the shattered remains of my relationship.

As I went out of Silas's house, my emotions fueled my every step and my mind raced. 

Thoughts of my painful past flooded my consciousness, memories of being rejected by my mate, and cast aside by my pack.

 But within the depths of my pain, a newfound resolve began to emerge. 

I would not allow myself to be defined by others' actions or their cruel rejection.

As I remembered what Silas had said to me and how he had rejected me as his mate, I couldn't help but flinch, the weight of his words still fresh in my mind.

I felt my heart break into a thousand pieces, I choked on air, and I couldn't move again.

The world around me lost its vibrant colours, fading into shades of grey. 

Tonight was meant to be a happy night as I and Silas had planned to celebrate his 25th birthday tonight but everything took a bad turn all of a sudden. 

I felt my heart crumble. I felt too helpless and overwhelmed.

I took a deep breath, my nostrils filled with the pain of a wounded heart, as I turned my head and directed my gaze towards Silas's house

 It was in that place that Silas had rejected and betrayed me. 

"Why can't I have a normal life and be able to shift into my wolf? " I asked no one in particular in my weak tone. 

"For the umpteenth time, I have been rejected, abandoned and kicked out again," I said, as tears flowed freely from my eyes. 

Though the ache of rejection would leave its mark, I vowed not to let it define me. 

I did the unthinkable.
