The apartment doorbell rang several times in succession. Samuel—who had just finished an online conference—approached the door with furrowed brows. As soon as the door opened, Nora was already standing on the threshold.

"Samuel, I want to talk to you alone." Nora's tone was sharp, almost trembling.

Samuel stepped aside. “Come in, Nora.”

As soon as the door closed, Nora turned to face Samuel.

“Why are you postponing the wedding again? I’ve been waiting for five years, Samuel!”

Samuel took a breath, walked to the small bar table, and poured some mineral water. “I’m not postponing without reason, Nora. There’s a new project—a renewable energy plant overseas. Japanese investors want me to focus fully for the next three months. An event as big as a wedding can’t be squeezed into such a hectic schedule.”

Nora dismissed that logic. “But we can formalize our marriage at the civil registry office. We’ll get the marriage certificate first. The party can follow after your project is done.”
