Reno stood in front of the window in his office after Ken left. He exhaled slowly, patting his cheeks once to force his mind to refocus.

But one name kept spinning in his head.

Without thinking further, Reno grabbed his phone and immediately pressed Jessy’s contact.

The dial tone rang.

Once… twice…

Then connected.

“Hello?” Jessy’s voice sounded flat, a bit rushed.

“Jess,” Reno said softly. “Are you awake? How are you in Bali?”

“I’m fine,” Jessy replied quickly. “What is it?”

Reno frowned. “Why do you sound rushed?”

“I’m just busy with a lot of work,” Jessy answered briefly. “What do you need? If it’s about the project, just send it through email.”

“Jess, I’m just asking how you are. Nothing more.”

“Mm, yeah. I’m fine. Is that all? If there’s nothing important, I’ll hang up.”

Reno almost clicked his tongue. “Jessy, wait—”

“Please don’t call if it’s not work-related,” Jessy cut him off. “I’m busy.”

Without waiting for a reply, Jessy ended the call.

SEASON 2 — CHAPTER 70Night slowly descended over the elite area where the Wilson Mansion stood. The garden lights turned on, illuminating the vast yard that looked calm from the outside. A black car stopped in front of the main entrance. Reno stepped out with a flat expression. His suit was still neat, but the look in his eyes was weary. The front door opened before he could walk any farther.“Reno!” Bella called out cheerfully.Without waiting for a response, Bella immediately wrapped her arms tightly around him. Her body pressed against his with full enthusiasm, as if she wanted to make sure the man was truly standing in front of her.Reno fell silent for a moment. His hands lifted, then froze in midair before finally only patting Bella’s back lightly.“You’re home,” Bella said softly, yet full of hope. She looked up, gazing at Reno’s face. “Auntie already talked to me.”Reno let out a short breath. “About what?”

SEASON 2 — CHAPTER 69Elara stared at Reno with a cold gaze. Her heart was pounding rapidly, not out of fear, but because the anger inside her was rising to the surface.“Depends?” Elara repeated. “Depends on what, exactly?”Reno did not answer right away. Instead, he lowered his head slightly, leaning closer to Elara’s ear. His voice dropped, almost to a whisper.“That depends on Miss Elara’s capability,” he said slowly. “Especially your capability in bed.”Elara froze for one second. The next second, her hand flew.Slap! The sharp sound echoed throughout the lobby of REN Company. Several heads immediately turned. The receptionist’s eyes widened. A few employees who had been walking stopped in their tracks as the atmosphere suddenly fell silent.“That’s outrageous!” Elara’s voice trembled, but it was firm. “Watch your mouth!”Reno slowly turned his head, his tongue brushing the corner of his l

That morning, Elara sat in her study with a much calmer expression than the day before, even though her chest was still filled with unanswered questions. The tablet in her hand displayed a single company name that she had been staring at for the past ten minutes.REN Company. Not Wilson Group. Not Castillo Holdings.Elara lightly tapped her finger on the desk. “So it finally shows up,” she murmured. There was a knock on the study door. Dilan entered with a cautious expression. “You called for me, Ms. Elara?”Elara nodded. “Dilan, I’ve seen the report.”Dilan stepped closer. “About Drake’s partner?”“Yes,” Elara answered briefly. “REN Company.”Dilan nodded. “That company has risen rapidly over the past two years. Its ownership structure is extremely closed. Legally, everything is clean.”“The owner?” Elara asked.Dilan shook his head. “The owner’s name isn’t listed in public docum

SEASON 2 — CHAPTER 67 Elara’s apartment felt quieter than usual that morning. Sunlight streamed in through the large windows, but it failed to dispel the unease on Elara’s face. She sat at her work desk, staring at her laptop screen without focus. Her thoughts had been circling around the same thing since last night. That project. Elara pressed the call button on her phone. “Dilan, come into Mama’s office.” Not long after, the door opened. Dilan entered with a tablet in his hand. “Is there anything I can help you with, Mrs. Elara?” Elara lifted her face. “I want to know who took over the Drake project.” Dilan nodded. “I’ve been trying to trace it since last night.” “And?” Elara asked quickly. Dilan took a small breath. “There’s no trace, Mrs. Everything is sealed. Even Drake’s internal contractors don’t know.” Elara frowned. “That’s i

That morning, the New York sky looked bright, but the atmosphere inside the meeting room on the top floor of the Wilson Group building felt cold. Reno sat in the main chair, both hands folded on the glass table. His gaze was steady, without hesitation.Across from him, Mr. Nathaniel Drake Sebastian appeared more relaxed, though his eyes were alert. Two cups of black coffee sat between them.Reno opened the discussion without preamble. “I want to take over the intercontinental logistics collaboration project.”Nathan raised an eyebrow. “Straight to the point.”“I don’t like wasting time,” Reno replied calmly.Nathan leaned back. “That project was almost announced with Ellanan Group.”Reno gave a small nod. “I know.”“Then you also know Ellanan’s reputation in Europe is quite solid,” Nathan continued. “Its CEO is hardworking.”Reno smiled faintly, almost imperceptibly. “Reputation doesn’t always mat

SEASON 2 — CHAPTER 65The apartment fell silent again after Elang’s last sentence hung in the air. Elara was still standing near the window, her back facing the children. The lights of New York shimmered outside, contrasting sharply with the unease in her chest.Elara took a long breath before turning around. Her face was serious, far from the firm demeanor she usually showed in public.“Sit down,” she said softly.Shelyn and Elang obeyed. They sat side by side on the sofa, looking at Elara with guarded expressions.Elara sat down in front of them, her knees trembling slightly. “Mama wants to talk. And this is important.”Shelyn nodded. “We’re listening.”Elang crossed his arms. “We won’t interrupt.”Elara smiled faintly. “Thank you.”She lowered her gaze for a moment, gathering her courage. “Mama begs you—don’t let your Papa know your identities. At least…”Shelyn frowned. “Why, Ma?”Elara looked at them one by one. “Because your Papa is not an ordinary man. His life is different. Hi
