BIG WAR AHEAD.
SOREN'S POV. I couldn't get over what happened after the invasion of the rogues in the pack. I had luckily saved Hazel and the pups before they could be eaten by the rogues. The pack had been strangely calm, so calm. Everyone was scared for their lives and recently, my pack members had been sleeping with the lights on as they feared that for the rogues to invade in the day without fear, they could do anything at night. I entered my chamber, and Hazel was glancing at the pack through the window. I studied her first. She had not been so different from the rest of the pack members, she was even worse. She had been silent, distant, and cold; she had only smiled at her pups, and I missed her even though she was closer to me. I went to her, then wrapped my arms around her from behind. She was rigid for a second, then slowly calmed down. "Soren." She spoke softly, "How is it going?" I relaxed my jaw on her shoulder and pecked her neck, "I'm waiting for Gabriel to bring me words." "Your beta?" "Yes." I shoved my nose into the crook of her neck and she slowly tilted her neck further to give me more access to her neck. I inhaled her scent, "I love you, Hazel, a lot." She said nothing, and I didn't care; my love was enough for both of us, and though I knew that she would love me more soon, I knew we were heading somewhere in our relationship. I turned her over to me and pecked her forehead, "I miss you." And slowly dropped my lips to hers. It was not the first time we were kissing, but again, it was different and appealing. My wolf purred and calmed. We just love this woman more than anything in the world. She pulled away after minutes, she was gasping for breath. "I think that should do, for now, we have the rogues to think about before anything." I nodded in understanding. "Yeah." I pecked her lips before letting her go. A knock came on the door, "Come in." Gabriel entered, then bowed to Hazel and me, "Alpha, may I see you for a minute?" I glanced at Hazel, and she looked as if she wanted to know what was going on. "Talk to me with her here, she is the future Luna after all and I will love her here. She should start taking some responsibilities." I smirked at her and she shrugged but quickly sat down on the sofa with me to listen to Gabriel. "You remember that we have been receiving some threats from the rogues, turns out that we are not the only ones with that same issue. I received this letter a few minutes ago," He stretched the letter to me. I read it briefly, and it was all about another pack that was being threatened by the rogues, too, but they hadn't invaded the other pack since the threat began. I nodded for Gabriel to continue the words he was saying, "So, this other pack wants us to come to fight with them, with that, we will be helping them and ourselves. We will free them and ourselves." I nodded, loving the idea, "We will leave ASAP, my pack is already living in fear, we have to restore peace among the people." Gabriel nodded. "Tell me what you want me to do for you alpha, and I will do it." "Gather together able men among the members, those who are willing to fight. Share them into two groups, one will guard the borders all around, while the other will follow me to fight the rogues straightaway." "Okay, alpha. What about me? Am I to go with you or stay?" I thought of it for some time, I knew that if he went with me, he would help a lot, but the wolves here needed someone who would keep on assuring them that all was well. "You will stay here." He bowed, "Okay, alpha." He left. "What about me?" Hazel questioned me immediately after Gabriel left. I chuckled, "Do you think I will leave you behind? Play on." I laughed more. "I thought as much." I got up from the sofa, "Go and get yourself ready with the kids. If the plan goes well, we will only have to spend a month there, but if things change, a couple of months. I'm telling you to know what to pack." "Okay, what about the company?" "Oh, yeah, the company, I forgot about it. Gabriel is staying, so he will be in charge." I left the room, leaving her behind. I went to my office and brought out the letter from my pocket, I dialled the line that was written on the letter. "Hi, this is Soren Gale, alpha of the Crescent Moon pack. Who are you?" I sat in my seat. There was no name of the pack in the help on the letter; it was stated that if we wanted to help, we should call the line. "Hi, Soren, this is Kai, alpha of the Dark Bridge pack. You must have heard about me." I chuckled, "Turn out that I didn't hear much, though I know your pack, I have a friend there," I suddenly dropped the friendliness. "We received your letter and are expecting you soon. I'm a very impatient person, and I get things done without stress. I'm coming with some important people, my fiancée, and two kids. It's better to start thinking of how to make them comfortable in your packhouse if you want us to have a happy business together." I knew that my voice was a little bit harsh, but I didn't care. "Take a chill pill, dude, I get you and they will be comfortable, I assure you." "Cool." I dropped the call. Kai uh? I creased my brows. The name sounded like danger and I hated the feeling it was giving me, but what can I say, I needed him as much as he needed me. I left the study and met up with one of the elders in the hallway, he seemed to be heading to my study. "Alpha," He bowed in greeting, which I nodded to, "I heard from Gabriel that you will be going on a mission away from the pack." "Yes, come with me, there are some things you should know."LETTING HIM GO.HAZEL'S POV.When I returned to the pack house, I was so tired and all I wanted was my bed without any stress. I entered the chamber with such a big strength and was heading to my room, but I changed my mind.'I should check on my kids.'I went to my children's room and met them fully awake; they were expecting me with the eagerness they had when they saw me."Mama." They rushed to hug me, "We missed you throughout the day."That hit a nerve in me. I didn't see them throughout the day, and that hadn't happened before. I was always with them almost every time during the day."I missed you too.""Where did you go?" I asked them when we disengaged from the hug."Uncle Scott took us all around the pack and Mama, have you seen how beautiful the pack is? It's more natural than Godfather's pack, even Uncle Scott noticed that," They told me."Sh!" I hushed them, "Your godfather won't love to hear that."I had to go and check the door to see if Soren was not in earshot or aroun
OUTING WITH VERA.HAZEL'S POV.The judgment given was fair to me. I was expecting something more deadly, death by slow poison or something of the sort, and for crimes they kept on committing, they deserved it. They were given the chance to choose the type of death they desired, which was the fair part.I walked out of the throne room after the rogues were being led out of the throne room. I returned to my chamber to check if my children had returned with Scott, but they hadn't returned even as the day was going down.I knew that Soren was not ready for any form of word exchange or conversation with me, so I didn't bother to go to him for anything.I decided to spend the remaining hours of the day alone and the place I chose was the pack's main garden. I wanted to go alone but I didn't want to go without a snack that would keep the boredom away from me.I headed to the kitchen and there, I took two freshly baked sandwiches and a bottle of soda. I was now looking like one wanting to go
THE JUDGMENT.KAI'S POV.I knew what the rogues were trying to do. They were trying to confuse us and for us to begin to guess over unnecessary things, but it turned out they didn't know me at all.I left them to do whatever they were doing. I watched silently."This is not fair, you seized the wrong person." One said, facing me."I'm snitching myself out right now that it's I. I'm the real face behind everything.""But it's I." And their mode of confusion went on and on.Soon, the room became a ruckus, like a place without deep human coordination, where people could shout and negotiate without a crime being recorded.Ever since I was a kid, I had always seen werewolves coming together as a group to do whatever they intended, but I had never seen a group without coordination.Werewolves are always well organized until maybe like now when a sense of favouritism set in, and I understood exactly what they meant and wanted. They wanted to release their leader. They were ready to shoulder
WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE?HAZEL'S POV.After the argument and shouts with Soren, I dressed up in the room and left the room for my children's room. When I slid in, they were not in.I knew they might be with Kai, so I decided to confirm.I went out of the chamber and met the guards outside the door. I planned to pass them by and mind my business but they called me back.I turned to them, trying to reciprocate the great respect they showed to me, "Yes?" I questioned them."Scott took the pups out of the pack house. He knew you would search for them, so he told us to relay the message to you so that you won't bother to search, Luna." They ended their words."I almost begin the search but don't worry, I'm good now after knowing that they are safely with Scott."Even if my children were anywhere, I was sure that they would be fine. With Scott. But now, I was bored. My children had been the only ones keeping me company in a time like this, but they were not around, meaning that I was all alon
A VISIT TO EDWIN.KAI'S POV.I woke up with all my pains relieved and my arm that was stabbed by Soren was completely healed. When I was with Hazel throughout yesterday, I was just keeping the pains away from her and was growling inside, trying not to show my pain.I pretended to be okay. But today when I woke up, I was perfectly fine.I got out of bed and felt someone trying to pull into my mind to deliver a message.I gave the person a pass as I headed to the bathroom for a shower."What?" I questioned whoever it was."My alpha, Edwin is awake." I heard Marcus' voice tell me."Beta.""Yes, my alpha.""I'll be with you in a minute or two."I blocked the mind link and concentrated on bathing and getting ready. In a few minutes, I was done and went out of the bathroom to the room.I didn't have any serious battles or serious obligations to do today other than to face my alpha's normal activities, so I dressed kingly in royal attire that was red.I went out of the room after being satis
I WISH WE HAD NEVER COME HERE.HAZEL'S POV.What my father said blew my mind, "Ah!" I growled and before Kai could stop me.I ran to the buttons on the wall and angrily pressed all the buttons with my cries, very long and deafening, and Dad's annoying laughs were rekindling my rage, and I pressed anything my fingers touched."Hazel, stop! You'll kill him!""I want him dead!""No, stop! We haven't questioned him yet!" Kai carried me away from the buttons even as I kept on trying to break free from him."Kai, let me go, I need to show that man that he's not the only one who could kill!""Hazel!" He shouted out, "Your father is a murderer, not you, you're not a murderer, you're a sweet woman and you can't hurt a fly!""No, you're wrong." I cried.Kai pulled me into his embrace, he began to pat my back and mutter words into my ears, words like, "No, you're just his daughter, you're nothing like him." While I cried nonstop in his arms. And by the time I calmed down, my eyes were red and Ka
