Vivian's pov

Five years passed and while still in Switzerland, my daughter grew strong and healthy, filling my life with joy. But back home in Northport, I spent every single day planning my move.

The night when my daughter was born. While Adrian was off celebrating his new deal, my grandfather’s people were already moving fast.

Arthur Sinclair was not just a rich man, he was one of the most powerful leaders in the world. With a few phone calls, my grandfather replaced the hospital staff with his own trusted doctors. Together, we created fake medical reports showing that my baby girl had passed away.

At three in the morning, a silent medical helicopter landed on the hospital roof.

The nurses carefully carried my tiny daughter inside a heated travel pod, flying her far away to an elite private hospital in Switzerland. She would be safe there, surrounded by the best doctors in the world.

The next morning, a messenger delivered the fake death certificate straight to Adrian's desk. But there was no response from him.

When I asked the messenger about it, he simply said, he read the death certificate and went back to work.

The audacity of this man! He didn't even ask to hold a funeral, he just simply went back to work, completely unaware that his daughter was alive and that I was coming for everything he owned.

On the surface, Adrian’s company, Lancaster Enterprises, looked bigger and richer than ever. But underneath, he wasn't aware that there was an invisible trap was closing in on him. An anonymous global investment group had been quietly buying up all of Adrian’s company debts, mortgage loans, and extra stock.

Adrian thought he was safe at the top of the world. He had no idea that a mysterious ghost was slowly buying up his entire life piece by piece.

And I had just started getting back at him. I gave everything I had to Adrian while I was married to him and he betrayed me in the worst possible way. I promised myself that I wouldn't let myself sulk over what Adrian lost.

When I received the invitation to be at Annual Northport Tech Summit inside the Grand Palais, I knew I had to be there because Adrian was going to be there as well.

I would make my first appearance while my trap sprung into full motion.

When I arrived, the room was packed with billionaires, politicians, and news reporters.

Adrian was standing near the bar in his expensive suit, laughing with a group of investors and holding a crystal glass of scotch.

I waited until the heavy doors swung open before I lifted the edge of my dress and stepped down the stairs.

The entire ballroom fell dead silent as my presence filled the room.

I held my head high, refusing to look upon anyone's face. I wore a striking green silk dress that looked like liquid emerald. My hair was styled like a crown, and diamonds sparkled around my neck. But what made everyone gasp wasn't just my beauty, it was my pregnancy bump that was evident through the dress.

Mild whispers instantly spread through the crowd like wildfire. "Is that Vivian Sinclair? Is she pregnant? I thought she had separated from her husband, so who is now the father of her child?"

Across the room, Adrian’s smile completely vanished when he saw me. His hand shook so hard that his glass of scotch slipped from his fingers, crashing onto the floor and shattering into a hundred pieces.

He looked down briefly at the shattered glasses before his eyes found mine again. His gaze dropped down to my belly and remained there for more than a minute. I saw the look of terror spread slowly on his countenance as he took in my pregnant belly.

I couldn't hold back the smile that crept onto my face.

He left the investors he had been discussing with before I walked in and started striding towards me but I turned and walked away before he could reach me.

His call for me drifted across the room drowning in the soft music but I paid him no heed.

For five years, Adrian had lived with the quiet thought that I was broken, sad, and alone. Seeing me stand there looking richer, more powerful, and carrying what looked like another man's child made him completely lose his mind.

VIVIANThe line hummed quietly against my ear for several seconds. Adrian did not answer immediately, and for a moment, I wondered if he had decided to ignore my call completely. Then I heard the sound of his breathing, followed by his voice.“What do you want?”The heavy silence between us lasted for several seconds.“Did you call to return my daughter to me?” Adrian asked. His question irritated me immediately.“You do not have a daughter with me,” I replied.A faint silence followed my words.“Is that so?”“Yes. Whatever you think you are entitled to, you should stop assuming that I have something that belongs to you.”I could hear the restraint in his voice when he responded. “Selling off your company debts was not enough to shake me off your tail, was it?”My fingers tightened around the phone.“So you admit you have been targeting Lancaster?”The question came calmly, but I knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted me to confirm something I had no intention of confirming.“You s

ADRIAN The silence in the boardroom settled my thoughts, and for the first time that morning, I felt completely in control. Every person around the long table had stopped speaking. No one moved unnecessarily, and no one seemed willing to meet my eyes for longer than a few seconds. The tension was obvious, but I found it calming. After everything that had happened, I needed them to understand that I was still the one making the decisions.A board member sitting at the far end of the table finally broke the silence.“Your actions are nothing short of treachery, Adrian. You have shown complete contempt for this board, and sooner or later, you will answer for it.”Several people shifted in their seats, but I kept my attention on him. His voice carried more confidence than the situation deserved, and I could already tell that he believed the rest of the board would support him.He was mistaken.“You seem very certain of yourself,” I said.“I am certain that what you are doing is unaccepta

AdrianFive names, two separate lists, and half a billion dollars sitting untouched in his account made everything from the past few hours feel unreal, as though someone had handed him a dream far too extravagant to actually be true.He knew better than to believe that, though. None of it had been a dream.Stepping out of the bustling airport terminal, he spotted his secretary rushing toward him with an expression that screamed disbelief before she had even said a single word."Are you completely out of your mind?" she demanded the moment she reached him.He let out a short chuckle, unable to hold it back despite the seriousness written across her face."This isn't funny, Adrian," she snapped, clearly not sharing his amusement. "The board is furious. Most of them are already on their way to Lancaster headquarters as we speak."He nodded calmly, seemingly unbothered by the warning, which only deepened her exasperation as she led him toward the waiting car."They might remove you as CEO

VivianSettling my daughter into bed took longer than usual that night, her small hands gripping the edge of her blanket as she fought against sleep despite how tired the day had clearly left her. I finally tucked the blanket around her shoulders and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before slipping quietly out of the room.Damien stood near the doorway when I stepped out, his expression carrying a weariness that hadn't been there earlier in the evening."I think I found someone willing to tell us who Adrian met with tonight," he said, his voice low despite the empty hallway around us."You've been making calls this entire time?" I asked, surprised he had managed to work through everything while we were still at the park with our daughter."Since we left," he admitted.Guilt settled heavily in my chest as I processed his words. "This is because of me, isn't it? Because of what happened tonight.""You didn't do anything wrong," he said firmly, stepping closer and resting a hand gentl

AdrianRage simmered through every part of me, but it slowly gave way to something closer to helplessness the moment I replayed how the escort had addressed Vivian and Damien back at the gathering."What exactly is this organization?" I asked the man walking beside me, unable to hold the question back any longer. "And what rank do Vivian and her husband hold within it?"He said nothing, his silence stretching long enough that I felt a flicker of irritation rise in my chest. I could sense the quiet disdain radiating off him, though he never once looked in my direction to confirm it."You're not exactly in a position to be asking questions," he finally said, his tone flat and unbothered.I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to let the comment slide. If he wouldn't give me answers, perhaps Lord Darren would. The name rolled through my mind repeatedly, yet nothing surfaced. I had spent years building connections across industries, and the fact that this name meant absolutely nothing to me on

VivianNothing could have prepared me for the sight of Adrian standing there, not after everything I had learned about the three hundred society in the past few hours.Shattered glass scattered across the floor near his feet, and for a brief moment, I could have sworn the fractured pieces reflected a man who looked as broken as the glass itself."Is that my daughter?" he demanded, his voice rising just enough to draw a few curious glances from nearby guests.I ignored the question completely, refusing to give him the satisfaction of an answer. Damien stepped forward immediately, positioning himself between us with a firmness that left no room for argument."Back off, Adrian," Damien said, his tone low and controlled despite the tension radiating off him.I watched anger flash across Adrian's face, though he seemed to catch himself before it fully surfaced. A few people nearby had already turned to look at him with expressions of quiet disapproval, and I could tell the attention unsett
