Chapter 1.
BITCH TO THE CLUB.
JANE'S POV.
I was drunk, but I could feel his stare on me before I saw his face. It was like he could see the inside of my soul, the intensity of his stare bore deeply into me as I swayed my hips to the sound of the music.
I turned, slowly, to look at the man who had made me a mess without even doing anything, and words could not describe the man that I saw.
His face, carved perfectly, dim light reflecting on him. He was seated on a bar stool a little far from where I was rocking myself, his face looked calm from the first stare, but I could see his eyes roam over me, tearing my dress off my body with his eyes.
He was examining me, I noticed.
I held my breath like a model in a beauty contest waiting for the judge's remark to know whether to go home empty or with a trophy.
Suddenly, he smiled at me.
His smile was something I didn't expect. It was like a strong wave of want hit me. This man was beautiful and nothing came closer to him than his beauty.
"Come over," His deep husky voice spoke and I saw myself taking shaky steps towards him.
"Whine your waist for me." He said again.
He spoke as if he expected every word that came out of his mouth to be obeyed.
On a normal day, that could have been a deal breaker for me, cause, why would I listen to a man when one just broke me? That was crazy, but I think I was too far gone to care about who I was.
I was dreadfully drunk from the amount of alcohol I took today and also from the beautiful man seated in front of me.
I started by swaying my hips, and then, I came closer to him, dragging his shirt for him to stand.
He stood and I couldn't believe how tall he was.
I felt a little intimidated by his height at that point but when his hands snaked around my waist, every thought vanished from me.
"Turn around," He commanded again and again. I did just that, like I was controlled.
We danced a little bit, with me grinding on him and I could feel something poking me from behind.
"Are you nervous?" He asked me and I shook my head.
"Did I look nervous?" I asked him back, but he did not reply to my question.
'Was he already bored?' The thought came to my head.
I didn't know my conviction at that moment, but I didn't want this man to be disappointed by whatever I was to do to him, so I tried harder, bringing up every dance step that I didn't know I had in me.
Finally, he was where I wanted him to be.... just in the same position as I was.
I heard him groan before he put his mouth near my ear.
"Are you trying to kill me?" He whispered.
I shook my body in response to him, "No, I just..." I started to explain but he shut me up. He turned me over to him aggressively and kissed me.
"Can we go somewhere else?" He asked, his voice almost pleading at the moment.
At this point, I didn't know what I was doing anymore. Tonight was about making everything all about me.
But this stranger was here, asking me to go somewhere with him and I was seriously considering it.
This was all of Ben's fault, my boyfriend, or should I say ex-boyfriend?
Well, if he could cheat, why couldn't I let go for a night? A one-night stand was something I needed now, and that was what I was getting.
......Some hours ago......
"Isn't that Ben?" My friend, Sarah asked me as we walked back from work.
"It can't be him. He said he was tired from our departmental work and took a day's leave," I said, looking at the shadows that looked a great deal like my boyfriend of three months.
We saw the person taking a sharp corner which led to a lonely road, and Sarah grabbed my hand before running towards where the person went through, "Let's just follow him then," She said.
The only lights shining on the path where we entered were from the streetlight as we followed the oblivious guy.
We halted when we saw a girl, probably his girlfriend waiting for him with outstretched hands.
"I told you that it was not him," I said to Sarah with my heart so calm with deep trust for my boyfriend.
As if the guy noticed that we were behind him, he turned his head and a familiar face stared at me.
He was Ben. My Ben.
Our eyes met in the darkness and I forced myself to believe that he had a reasonable explanation for this.
Wasn't he supposed to be at home bedridden because he was tired?
My heart split when Ben turned his back on me and continued with the girl with him as if he didn't know me.
'Maybe that is his sister, or.... or.... his new best friend whom I don't know yet, yeah?' I thought to myself frightfully, hoping I was right.
But my heart completely shattered when he gave the girl an intimate hug like he always gave me.
Didn't he care that I found out that he was cheating, or was I the one that he was cheating with because the girl looked all too comfortable in his arms?
Now, the thoughts of everything were coming back to me. How he didn't like us acting all lovey-dovey in public, or how he never introduced me to any of his friends, even after three months of being in a more or less secret relationship with him.
"Let's go," Sarah said to me but I remained standing.
"Jane, let's go. He is not worth it." She repeated and this time around, I allowed her to pull me with her.
"Let's go out of here to maybe a club," She said to me as soon as we entered our house which was close by.
"Where are we going? I'm ready," Hannah, our flatmate said to Sarah, coming out of her room to go to the kitchen.
"I'm not in the mood," I said to them, already getting rid of my clothes tearfully.
"What happened?" Hannah asked, coming down from her bed.
"That bastard, Ben, the dog, broke her heart," Sarah said before I could respond.
I liked the sound of the name. Bastard, it fitted him perfectly.
"So what do you want to do, sit down on your bed and cry like a bitch? Hell no. You are going to dress up like a bitch you are and go have some fun." Hannah said.
She always spoke her mind.
"That's what I'm talking about." Sarah agreed with her.
"You better dress up or I will help you out of your dress to a worse one," Hannah said.
I was already seated on my bed, so I ignored her.
"You leave me with no choice." She said when I didn't budge.
Sarah and Hannah looked at themselves before they came dragging me out of bed.
"You are going to put on the sluttiest dress ever," Hannah said to me.
.....
And here I was.
Jane's POVIt was Saturday morning. My alarm woke me up to the bright light that was coming from the sun. It was entering my room from the space that was in between my curtains. I stretched my hands and legs in the bed as I now sat upright staring at nothing.I was stuck with making a decision that might end up leaving me or one person sad or angry. Both Daniel and Kennedy had asked me out on a date today.I lazily stood up from my bed as I picked up my toothbrush and brushed my teeth. I walked into the living room still in my pajamas as I met Sarah sitting on the couch watching a TV show while Hannah was on her phone.“Good morning girls.” I said as I lazily sank into the couch.“How are you doing?” Sarah asked without talking her eyes off the show.“Are you good? You look like you're about to faint.” Hannah said. “Honestly I don't know.” I said as I looked at her.“Spill, what's wrong? Did Kennedy hurt your feelings?” Sarah said, focusing fully on me.“I'm going to kill him if that
Jessica's POV I never expected to see her. Becky. She walked towards me and hugged me. I was surprised. Becky was my very close friend back in high school. We have been friends from the beginning to the end even when we were in different departments. She got married two years after graduation and traveled to Canada with her husband and since then we lost contact.“Oh my God, look at you.” She said as she scanned me with her eyes filled with excitement. “Girl, you look so good.”I was still surprised so I could barely say anything. “Stop staring at me like you've seen a ghost, it's me baby girl.” She said smiling.“How long have you been in town?” I finally asked her.“I just got back two days ago, I have been trying to call you but I lost your number.” she said.“Welcome back girl, you should have at least told me it was you over the phone. I thought it was a stranger or something.” I said.“I wanted to surprise you.” She said as she smiled.“What if I didn't come?” I asked with a
Jessica's POV.The morning came even when I didn't want it to. The soft light that came with the morning sun slipped into my room and rested on my sheets as it reflected on my gold bed stand and scattered rays of light all over my room. Just enough to make me wake up even if I didn't want to. I had my bath, got dressed and headed to the office. That was the loop my life has been going in lately. At the office everyone was busy as usual, the sound of shoes clinking on the floor, the shuffling of papers, the hum of printers, the voices of employees and clients.I was greeted by staff as I walked into my office. I sat there as I tried not to let the tiredness that had filled me surface. It has been up to a month since that girl came back to this company. Jane. A commoner who my fiance now obsesses over. Some low class girl. Kennedy is better than that, he knows that more than anyone else but I just can't place what he sees in her that has made him lose every sense of personality. They h
Jane's POV I was at the bar sipping the soda that I had ordered and the voices I heard were sounding too familiar. I now started turning my head and then my eyes met theirs.“Ethan? Ella?” I said as my eyes widened with surprise. Both of them just stood there as they were now looking at me as if I was a ghost.“Hi kiddo, Ethan said as he was now rubbing the back of his neck. “What are you… no what are both of you doing here? And holding hands for that matter.” I said as I stood up from my chair.“We ermm… we just came to see the show together, no serious feelings attached.” Ella said, smiling as she stammered between words.Oh Christ.” I laughed. “Well what a coincidence.”“But wait, why are you two holding hands, don't tell you both are now seeing each other without even informing me.” I teased them as my eyes moved between them.“Pfft, Hell no there's nothing like that, well… not yet. Ella laughed.A bright smile came on Ethan's face. Something was about to start between these two
Ethan's POV It was a cool evening. I just got back from work and freshened up and had dinner. I haven't even told my sister that I have been transferred to an engineering branch here. I just got the job like a week ago. I was lying down on my bed then I decided that I should call her so that I could know how she was doing. I carried my phone and started to call Ella.It rang one time, no answer. It rang again and connected.“Hi, how are you doing?” I asked as steady my voice “Hey stranger, I'm good and you?” Her voice came as lively as always. “I'm fine. I called you earlier tho, there was no response.” I said.“I’m so sorry about that, I just got back from work and had to take a nice shower.” She said with a calm tone.“That's fine, so I hope work wasn't stressful.” I asked.“Well, it is always stressful but I'm used to it, trust me.” she said, as I could hear the smile in her voice. “So… have you eaten something?” I asked.“Not yet, I will be heading out soon, there's a live co
Jane's POVA call came in.My phone was already in my bag. When I dipped my hand in my bag and brought it out, the name I saw was not the name I was expecting. It was Kennedy.I did not pick it. Ben looked at my phone and then back at me. “Go ahead, pick it up. Which of your numerous boyfriends is it this time huh?” He said as he was now closing the door behind him.I became scared. His voice had changed so has his countenance. “Ben, leave me alone else I am going to call the cops.” I said moving back. He was not even listening to me, he moved closer and I closed my eyes and the next thing I heard was a knock on the door. He stopped and I opened my eyes.It was gentle at first and then, it came louder again as I voice followed.“Jane?” Thank goodness, it was Kennedy. Ben had to step aside. He did not want Kennedy to know who he was, not yet. I immediately rushed and opened the door. He looked at me and then at Ben.“What is going on here?” He asked, looking at Ben“I came to dro
