‎I stared down his dark eyes.

‎This was my father's dying wish; that I should relinquish my power to my mate.

‎Liam smiled at me as he held me in his arms.

‎"I love you Morning." He said in a sing-song voice.

‎"I love you too." I smiled and moved to kiss him.

‎The kiss was brief but warm.

‎This was love. I never wanted it, but when my father pressured me to get a mate so that he wouldn't die without an heir, I acquiesced.

‎And although my father didn’t live to see it, I was happy that I did as he asked.

‎"With the blessings of the Moon Goddess, I now pronounce you Alpha and Luna of the white claw pack." Elder Octavius said.

‎The pack members in the hall clapped.

‎Liam turned to them with a smile.

‎"As the new Alpha of this pack, I will take it to new heights. This marks the joining of two families, my moonlight pack and the white claw pack!"

‎The applause was even louder, as Liam's personal guards and his pack members clapped widely.

‎As the last full-blooded member of the great white wolf bloodline, I was the heir to the pack. My mother died to the silver of hunters when I was younger, and my father feared for our bloodline when his life was near its end.

‎I wanted to become Alpha of the pack myself, but there were issues and my father insisted that I find a suitable mate instead.

‎I smiled at Liam as he addressed the pack members. He was the alpha of a smaller and weaker pack but he was found suitable. With time, I came to love him and last night we mated for the first time.

‎With the mating ceremony he became the Alpha of the pack, and I was his Luna.

‎"Enough of this! Out of my way!"

‎I turned to see who was making a commotion.

‎A blonde-haired she-wolf emerged from the crowd. She boldly pushed aside anyone that blocked her path.

‎"I'm tired of all this." She said as she brushed her long hair.

‎"Who is that?" I asked in surprise. Liam didn't answer and when I turned back to look at him, his face had turned white.

‎The girl climbed up to the altar and hugged Liam.

‎The entire hall went silent.

‎The girl kissed Liam fully on the lips.

‎"Babe, you said the ceremony wouldn't take long. Why am I still here?" She said.

‎Liam let out nervous laughter as a murmur washed over the crowd.

‎I froze. My mind couldn't understand what was happening.

‎"Olivia stop playing around. Thank you for the congratulatory kiss." Liam said as he let out another forced laugh.

‎‎"Congratulatory kiss? Of course." I said to myself as relief washed over me.

‎I moved closer to Liam, but the girl still hugged him.

‎"Liam, who is this? Is it your sister? Please you're embarrassing us in front of the pack." I said. To my surprise, my voice came out as a plea.

‎In my heart I was begging the Moon Goddess that it was really his sister.

‎The crowd watched us closely and waited.

‎Elder Octavius spoke out.

‎"Alpha Liam, can't you talk to her later? We are still in the middle of the mating ceremony." He said.

‎"I-." Liam started to talk but he was interrupted.

‎"Hold on here. What are you guys talking about?" Olivia said in a very audible voice.

‎"Babe, you said that after you became Alpha that there would be no need to hide anymore. You know I'm tired of meeting you in secret because of some crazy whore."

‎The entire crowd heard Olivia's words and went silent again.

‎"Olivia, not now." Liam said quickly.

‎"No I'm really tired Liam!" Olivia said. "I mean you're already Alpha right?"

‎"Yes." Liam said.

‎"Then there's no need to hide anymore. For the Moon Goddess's sake, I've been waiting for weeks now! I mean you told me yourself how you just needed to fuck the crazy whore, and you were done. You also told me you did that yesterday, and you didn't even enjoy it."

‎Olivia placed her hand on Liam's face and tilted it to her.

‎"That's why you came back to get the good stuff from me that same night." Olivia said in a seductive voice.

‎My hand fell to my side and the flowers Liam gave me fell to the ground.

‎I felt a sharp pain in my heart, but I still refused to believe what I was hearing.

‎Yet I could remember the night before. It was my first time with a man. After Liam was done, he left the room, and I was confused because he had been urging us to mate even before the ceremony for weeks.

‎Was that why he left? Did he find me disgusting and go for another woman?

‎I shook my head and moved to pull Olivia away from Liam.

‎As I touched her, Liam moved quickly and slapped my hand away. He had a disgusted expression on his face.

‎"This isn't really happening." I said to myself as one of Liam's personal guards stepped up between us.

‎‎"Liam, tell me this is a joke." I pleaded. That was the only explanation. He must have come up with an elaborate joke to mess with me.

‎Olivia laughed at me.

‎"The real joke is you. I heard about your barbaric character. Did you really think my Liam would want you?"

‎"Your Liam?" The words came out of my mouth with difficulty. Still, I desperately needed to believe anything apart from what I was hearing.

Liam had spent so many nights professing love to me and me alone.

And now I was hearing something else in front of my entire pack.

‎"Yes, my Liam." Olivia said and turned Liam's face back to her.

She smiled slyly.

“He had been mine long before you came along.”

She touched her hand to her stomach.

“And I’m pregnant with his baby to prove it.” She said as she kissed him, and he kissed her back.

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 149: MORNING

The silvery point of the dagger stuck out through the back of my palm. It was already painted in blood. At first, I didn’t feel much pain. That was because I had moved quickly under the threat of death. My mind had been too occupied to worry about an injury. But the very second I was able to stabilize the situation by restraining the hunter again, my body decided to inform me about the injury. My hand tightly held on to the hunter's hand even with the knife sticking through.Even when I felt the burning sensation that silver caused in wolves, I didn’t let go. I knew that letting go would just be giving my life to the hunter under me.He had already shown that he was going to kill me at the first chance he got and without any hesitation to both.If only I could be more like him in that aspect. The hunter tried to move his hand away. At first he tried retracting the knife, but I held tightly to it. His motion caused the blade to shift inside my palm. It caused a great amount of pa

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 148: MORNING

I was almost too slow to notice it.I pinned the hunter to the ground and stared him down as I asked him questions to help pour out my growing rage. For years I had been suffering from the consequences of actions carried out by hunters. And now, for the first time, I had a hunter within my grasp. I wasn’t sure what to do with him at first. I knew I should kill him but I quickly came to the realization that killing wasn’t as easy as I thought.I then started asking him questions. Of course I was genuinely questioning him. There wasn’t really any vital information I felt I could acquire from him. We weren’t lacking information. And even if we were, I soon discovered that he was only a low level hunter. What could he know?My questions were really just taunting and a way for me to pour out my anger. The hunter’s reaction was underwhelming to say the least. Instead of giving any kind of satisfactory reaction, he just cowered in fear through out the entire interrogation. It was actua

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 147: MORNING

The forest was silent around us.I held the hunter down and stared directly at him. He stared back at me with a horrified gaze.I was in the middle of a very huge dilemma. How could I kill someone? It wasn’t like I didn’t believe I could. I had already seen that my strength greatly surpassed these humans. Right now the hunter was completely living based on my mercy. It turned out that they weren’t actually so tough when you took away their silver weapons. In fact, he was actually very scared.“What… are you?” The hunter asked again.I frowned at him, but I decided to answer him this time. I had not been able to make a decision on what to do with yet, so I decided to just reply him. Who knows? Maybe I would be able to come to some sort of realization after replying him. Or maybe I would be able to muster the resolve to simply kill him. “I’m a wolf.” I replied. I wasn’t going to hide what I was from him so I told him in the most direct way possible. I did it deliberately becau

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 146: MORNING

I noticed the whistle immediately. My mind worked very quickly in that instant as I made the connection between the whistle the hunter had a the one that Phoenix had showed us.I remembered how Phoenix told us that the whistle was a way for the hunters to alert their other members. The hunter was far away from me. I had been very wary when I saw him at first and I didn’t even know what to do. But once I saw the whistle I knew that I could no longer back down. What I did now would have a great effect on our plan. The hunter was going to alert the other hunters in his team. Once he did that, there was no turning back.My entire body tensed up and I dashed forward. If not for the special circumstances then I might have had a different reaction to seeing a hunter. But there was no hesitation now. I just had to think of Phoenix and realize that this would be threatening his safety. That was enough motivation. Talk less of when I thought of all the others. I had actually grown an attac

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 145: MORNING

Phoenix finished reviewing the plan with us within five minutes. Then it was already time for us to move on. I was a little hesitant at first, but I had no choice but to move on when I saw Rowena going. Oisin told us the direction of the camp and the estimated distance. Then he also told us the route to follow to get to our specific destinations. I listened carefully and made sure that I memorized everything he said. My hand trembled slightly as I secured the dagger Phoenix gave me to my waist. Why did I feel like this? I wasn’t someone who got scared easily. I hardly got scared actually. But now there was a faint sense of dear in my heart. It didn’t stop me from moving forward but it created a level of hesitation in me. I looked back at Phoenix as I left on my own path. He was already coordinating with both spirit animals to form a trap for the hunters. Like I said before, I had no problem with taking out hunters. I liked it actually and I would have loved to do it myself

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 144: MORNING

“You will have to sneak your way into their camp, then get their attention.” Phoenix said. I pictured myself jumping out if the bushes in front of up to twenty hunters. What were my chances of actually surviving that? “I don’t want you to put yourself in excessive danger, so please be careful about it.” Phoenix said. But he wasn’t only speaking to me. He was talking to all of us. All three of us to be specific. When I thought of that number I wasn’t very encouraged. “Alright, Oisin tell them where the camp is. You’ll all need to work at the same time to give the illusion that they are being attacked from different sides. Your timing doesn’t have to be perfect but it should be close enough. Also make sure that you cover the entire perimeter by staying away from each other as much as possible.” Phoenix said. “If we are far from each other how’ll we coordinate our distractions?” Rowena asked. Phoenix’s face paled slightly. “That is also a good question.” He said. I was starting to
