LOGINHAZEL
My full name is Hazel Aevia Rosewood.
And only Nikolai calls me Aevia.
My very hot…very sexy…very tempting brother-in-law.
I know… I know I shouldn’t be thinking about that…I shouldn’t be attracted to him…He is my brother-in-law but have you seen this man?
This extremely tall, sexy, down-to-earth handsome man? The way his glasses sit on the bridge of his nose and how his brown eye glints through the lens of the glasses. The way his veins spread through his palm. The way he talks about the boring things that he knows, the way his lips move when he speaks about different things that one shouldn’t even know. The way he laughs, the sound of his laugh, his warmth, his care, his overprotectiveness, and his….
Shit…
Shit….What the hell am I doing?
What the hell am I doing?
“Aevia, oh my goodness, you’re..You’re back, when did you get back? I didn’t know you were coming, oh, and …Sorry about the…collision…Are you okay? Did you twist your leg or something? Should I get you some ice?” His lips moved, his eyes glinted with light, and he dragged all over me, worry and concern, and excitement as he spoke to me.
My throat bobbed.
“I’m fine, Nikolai…I didn’t twist my leg and I thought we agreed that you would call me Hazel now.” I muffled, trying to look everywhere but his face.
“No, I didn’t agree with you. I’m calling you Aevia and that’s final.” He added, stern and direct, forcing me to lift my head to look at the man towering over me, lost in his eyes.
“Aunty Aevia?” I heard a small cute voice, a familiar beautiful voice coming from behind the man in front of me, clinging to his leg.
My little niece, short, with grey eyes like her mother, black hair like her father.
“Vira!” I cheered.
She let go of her father instantly, running into my arms, “Aunt Aevia…I missed you. I thought you forgot about us, Dad said you’d never forget about us.” She muffled, hugging me like her life depended on it.
“I missed you too, Vira, sorry, I got busy with work in Paris but I am back now and I brought you a load of gifs.”
“Yes…Aunt Aevia is the best…Mum never brings anything from her trips.” She pouted.
“Okay…come on now, Vira, your aunt needs to rest. She is probably jetlagged.” He slowly peeled Vira from me and led her towards the party outside, he suddenly halted and turned to me, “Good to see, Goggles.”
Shit….No…No….Nikolai, you can’t do this to me…You can’t look at me with those eyes, and call me that name…the name I chose to bury where I wouldn’t be able to reach.
I dragged my suitcase to my room only to find it occupied, and turned to a showroom for my sister.
You have got to be kidding me.
I want to scream!
I guess I’ll have to lodge in a hotel or something.
“Oh, Hazel, good you are here, your sister and I were just talking about you.” My mother, elegantly waved at me as I dragged my suitcase towards the door.
My eyes crossed Nikolai, my cheeks burned as my mind replayed the little kiss we had a few minutes ago.
“Yes, mother,” I responded, turning to her, my eyes everywhere but on the man who looked at me embarrassed and speechless.
Was he also affected by the kiss?
I know we can’t call it a kiss but still.
“Hazel, I was wondering if you could babysit, Navira for three – six months.” She blurted, direct, shamelessly.
I stood, utterly speechless.
Did I ….did I hear her correctly?
She wants me to babysit her daughter?
“Yvonne, I am not sure I understand,” I muttered, and an awkward chuckle escaped from me.
Her finger tucked the strand of her hair that escaped behind her ear.
“My promotion requires me to spend more time abroad and I won’t be able to care for Navira. Since you are back from Paris and you don’t have anything to do, how about you watch over your niece, it’s the least you can do…And besides, you don’t have a room here which means you don’t have a place to stay. You can move in with my family. Free shelter, free food, free wifi. All you have to do is watch over my kid.”
-----
“Are you serious? You’re going to live in the same house with your sister’s family?” Lucy muffled over the phone as I stood outside the huge black gate, my eyes dragging through the exterior designs.
A lot needs to be done….This place looks like a graveyard.
“Yes. I didn’t have a choice, Vira made me promise.” I sighed, dragging my suitcase through the front gate, making my way into the living room.
“Uhm, isn’t that dangerous? I mean, Nikolai and all.” She whispered, unsaid words and tension hung in the air.
I felt a sharp tug at my chest.
“It’s nothing…..He is my brother-in-law and that’s that….Anyways, I have to go, talk to you later.” I muffled.
“You have a meeting with the owner of Kane Beverages, by three pm at Green Hill restaurant, I already made a reservation so don’t be late.” She added.
“Thanks.” I ended the call and made my way in.
I turned down the offer.
When Yvonne asked me to babysit her child so she could go play career woman, I refused. I saw the look on Nikolai’s face, the embarrassment of watching his wife toss her duty like it was the least important thing.
I was going to leave when Vira burst into tears, begging me not to leave her too. She wanted me to live with her and not her mum or some random maid.
For my beautiful niece, I agreed to live in the same house with Nikolai.
But now that I am standing at the door, I can’t seem to bring myself to…
“Welcome, Aevia” The door creaked open unexpectedly, causing me to squeak, jumping back in fear, eyes slightly widened, fear covered my face.
My throat bobbed, pulling myself together. It was Nikolai, standing at the entrance with a black tee and joggers.
“I could see you through the monitor by the door, I figured I should help you get the door or you might end up sleeping on the porch….Come in, Goggles.” His voice dropped, low enough for me to feel the rumble in my chest. His gentle brown eyes were dancing on me as he slightly made way for me.
This was a huge mistake.
He reached for my suitcase, his finger slightly brushing mine, sending a jolt of electric shivers down my spine.
I walked behind him, my eyes dragging through every design of the house, I expected something, cozy, welcoming but what I saw….even a hotel interior design was more welcoming.
He showed me to my room, “Vira will be back anytime soon, I’ll make dinner so, take your time, get settled and I’ll call you when dinner is ready.”
My eyes scanned the room once again and I crumbled into the bed.
The next three months would be a rollercoaster.
I opened my bag, pulling out my clothes when my eyes locked on the dildo, Lucy had packed for me. I unboxed it as I sigh, “This girl would be the end of me.”
Holding the dildo in my hands, huge, veiny, and hard..it’s almost like I was holding a real dick in my hands.
Where did she even find something like this?
Knock…knock.
“Aevia, it’s me, can I come in?” Nikolai's voice came through the door.
“Yeah, sure,” I answered, forgetting what I had in hand. “No…waitt….” I yelled but it was too late.
Nikolai walked in, his eyes on the huge dildo in my palm, fancy..I was holding it as if I had just stroked it or sucked it.
I’m so done.
Chapter 13 HAZEL My eyes settled on the ring as we drove back to the house. It looked so beautiful, so perfect, like it was made only for me. But that wasn’t the only reason I was staring at it. Nik was the one who wore it for me. He took my hand in his and he dragged the ring through my finger. In that moment, it felt so real, so soft, so beautiful. His soft palm over mine, his gentle touch and his lingering scent… It’s so…. Like a wave of cold was poured over my head, realization hit me that the man who had done all this for me, is married, and not just any married man but my brother-in-law.I felt a sharp sting inside of me. Like my heart was given a sharp twist, it suddenly got so hard to breathe and my eyes stung with unshed tears. It hurts. That the man I had always wanted was not mine but my sister’s. It hurts that he doesn't even think of me the way I think of him. I’m so pathetic. I should be over him by now. I should be… thinking of starting my own family and finding m
Chapter 12 NIKOLAI “Hazel, I am lost for words. That guy is the most handsome in your college, he is smart, he is kind, he takes care of you and he helps you with school, what else are you looking for in a man?” I heard Daston scold Hazel as I washed the shrimps in the kitchen. John is the fourth guy, Hazel had turned down since she got to college. John was nice. I actually thought she’d give him a chance. I'd have given my blessing. “He doesn’t know how to cook, doesn’t know how to dress, can’t say my name in the way that makes me feel butterflies, doesn't tease me enough and he.. he… he is too perfect, I cannot.” Hazel sighed, I heard her body collide with my pillow in the living room. I stepped out of the kitchen, grinning without even realizing it. I mean if she doesn't like him, then she shouldn’t be with him. It’s no big deal. “Hazel, come taste this and tell me what you think,” I said, stepping into plain sight. She jumped off the chair and dashed faster than my cat would
Chapter 11 HAZEL I know I shouldn’t drool right now but I believe yhat I am drooling. Because I haven’t moved and I haven’t taken my eyes off him. God, he looked so hot. I have seen him cook at home, apron around his body, his hair a little rough and I know this man is hot in the kitchen but seeing him here at his work place is a different shade of masculinity. I think my knees are weak. I’m gonna fall. “Aevia?” His voice snapped me out of my unholy trance. Ah! Lord…. Why have you forsaken me by placing this temptation before me. You know I am such a hypocrite. Blaming the lord when I am actually the one who drove myself here. I cleared my throat, forcing a smile, hiding the blush on my cheek which was almost impossible, “Sorry, I … uhm… never seen you at work before… it’s… never mind… sorry for staring.” “It’s fine.. come on.” He gestured towards the chair he pulled out for me, a habit he hadn’t change. He has been doing this since we got close enough to eat together. Even
Chapter 10 HAZEL The last person I expected to see after a hectic day at work was Daston. Daston is that friend who always has my back, a very good friend who knows when to be the shoulder I need to lean on or the strict words I need to hear to get my head in the game. He stood against my G-wagon. All six feet of him, his curly hair, his sharp black eyes, his neatly trimmed beard, his broad shoulders, his arms wrapped around his chest. His lips curled into a knowing smile as he saw me. “Hey bestie.” He wiggled his annoying brows. I am going to kill this boy! “You told me you were not coming!” I yelled rushing towards him. “Yo! Slow down! Take a deep breath, I wanted to surprise you.” He said all at once, while guarding himself from my attack. I paused before my fist collided with his chest. “I missed you.” I pouted, hugging him. “Oh…. What did you do?” He grumbled, spreading his arms to take me in a hug. My eyes flickered as I looked away. “Hazel?” He dragged. Right, Dasto
Chapter 9HAZEL “Perfect!” Vira cheered. That little demon! Does she know how hard this is? Why is she doing this to me? Calm down, Hazel, it's for her school retreat… she is doing this because she wants a good retreat. You are doing this for your niece. So wipe away every nasty thought and concentrate. “Are you satisfied?” Nikolai grumbled at his daughter. She placed the pen on her cheeks and nodded, “For now, we can work with that. Gradually, you two will get close and it won’t be an issue. So now here is the list of things we need to accomplish in the next week before the retreat.” she blurted. “One, sitting comfortably with each other. Two, looking at each other with love. Three, holding hands. Four, eating together. Five, Knowing almost everything about each other, six, Your wedding, seven, pet names, and eight, Kissing each other very…..“Kissing!” I barked, then slammed my hands over my mouth as soon as I realized how loud I was. I leaned closer to her, eyes widened, “K
Chapter 8 HAZEL I must have heard him wrong, there is no way, he just said that. Standing with my two hands clinging to my bag, holding it like it was my last chance of standing without falling, my eyes remained on the man who looked so good even though he was just waking up. “Did you… hear what I said?” he cut through the silence that was already crawling through my skin. “I’m not sure if I heard you correctly, it sounded like you said you wanted us to practice being a married couple.” I muffled, forcing this awkward smile. His eyes flickered. He didn't debt it…. Oh my God… he wants us to practice being a couple? A married couple? “Hazel, do not… he is your sister’s husband, you can’t play house with your sister’s husband, you are better than that.” My angel conscience blurted to me, popping up before my eyes, dressed in a white fitted gown, with wings on her back and a halo on her head. She had this worried look on her face. But she is right though. The thought of playing ho
Chapter 6 HAZEL Ring! Ring! Ring! No answer. I called again and again and again. Yvonne didn’t take any of my calls. My fist tightened around my phone. I felt this rage burning inside me. How could she not have attended her daughter's school? How could she have failed to come over even if it
CHAPTER 5NIKOLAI“I swear to God, Aevia, this is horror, how on earth am I supposed to like this, how do you even like this?” I grumbled, grabbing the popcorn, holding it close to my chest walking to my couch, in my joggers and white tee, and on my couch, whose face glued to the screen was Hazel,
CHAPTER 3HAZELNikolai stood there, with two bottles of sauce, hot chili sauce, and extremely hot chili sauce, I guess he was about to ask if I was still into spicy food.Shit….I can’t move. His eyes went from my face, to the thin tank top and shorts I had slid into and now his eyes were directly
