CHAPTER 3

"Sarah! Sarah! Please wake up!" Her mom screamed her shaking her vigoriosly.

"Call 911" her mom muttered lowly to herself in a way that one could hear her.

"Call 911!" She screamed out so loud that the maid took to her heels downstairs

"Sarah hang in there ok? You're gonna be fine" her dad said as he tied a piece of clothe around her wrist.

The maid was shaking and panicking.

Her hands shook as she punched the number 911 on the cell and a voice was heard from the other end.

"Hello? This is 911, State your emergency"

Her lips trembled as she stated the casualty.

She raced back upstairs and met Mayor Bellos carrying Sarah as they rushed downstairs.

"Take care of her room" her dad instructed the maid.

Mayor Bellos rushed Sarah outside, his wife, followed suit and cried.

The Town's casualty squad were outside, they brought out a stretcher that she was placed on.

"Was it an accident?" One of them asked.

"Intentionally" her dad responded while her mom entered the emergency ambulance with her daughter.

"Given her any first aid?" He further asked.

"Not really, just stopped the bleeding' he said as the man nodded.

"You did a great job mayor" he entered the ambulance as they left to Mystic Hollow Hospital.

The mayor stood outside and scratched his hair as he muttered to Zoe who was standing outside with some other guards.

"Follow them" he said and entered inside the mansion.

"Alex! Alex! Wake up, we're gonna be late for school and your friends are here" Bonnie shook him vigorously on bed.

"Go away you slimy cheese" Alex sleeoily said and covered his pillow over his face.

"Come on Alex we're gonna be late for school" Bonnie said but Alex still gave her deft ears.

"Peter! I need a little help here?" She screamed as Peter and Laura went inside Alex's room.

Peter smiled at Laura who returned the smile as they both nodded.

The dragged the blanket off his body and pushed him to the floor.

"Hey that's not fair!" He screamed and tried to pick himself up from the floor.

"We love you too Alex" Laura said and laughed as Alex went to the bathroom to take his bath.

He finished taking his bath and found out his dad had taken care of breakfast, his dad is a detective and his mom died while giving birth to his little sister, Bonnie.

He packed their lunch box and saw his sister talking more than herself, and she only does that when she has a crush on someone.

Laura and Peter just stared at her as she confessed her feelings to Peter.

"..You know its not easy confessing your feelings to someone, it took me a long time to actually compose this. So here it goes" she went to her bag and brought out a letter she wrote for.

"Seriously this is crazy" Alex muttered to himself as he took something from the fridge.

"Dear Peter Parker, I've found the love of my life in you and.. "

"Stop it Bonnie, what do you know about love? You are only 8 and Peter is 19, can't you see you are crazy?" Alex asked.

"And where was it written in the constitution that an 8 years old can't love?" Laura and Peter laughed.

"Just shut up and give me that damn letter" Alex said, Bonnie huffed out of frustration and placed it on his hand, he shoved it inside his pocket without stealing a glance at what she wrote.

"I'll write you another letter ok?" Bonnie whispered to Peter and winked at him as he gave a ludicrous smile.

"I heard that!" Alex said as Bonnie giggled while Laura and Peter laughed.

Elena entered the house without ringing the doorbell.

"I've got it guys" she said showing them her mom's Sheriff badge.

"Hi Elena!" Bonnie greeted.

"Oh Hi little Bonnie. Did you kick Alex's ass today?" Elena asked as Bonnie giggled and nodded while Alex rolled his eyes at them which made Elena grin.

"With this we can pass the cops at the hospital?" Laura asked.

"Yh, hopefully" Elena said.

"Let's go, we don't wanna miss Mr. Alaric's history class" she said and led the way.

They dropped Bonnie in her Elementary school that's opposite theirs and waved her bye.

"Bye Peter! I love you!" Bonnie said and laughed as she ran inside her school building.

Alex huffed as his friends laughed.

"So, the plan is, after classes today, we're going to the hospital?" Alex asked.

"Yh" Elena said.

They settled down in class, searching for sarah in class, but she's not there yet.

*I thought she normally come to school by 10:12Am?*

Peter texted Elena who read the text and glanced at him.

*let's wait a little, she'll turn up*

this time, Elena texted a multiple text to three of her friends.

They stopped communicating via text message and listened to Mr. Alaric as he continued his teachings.

Elena glanced at the board and saw the topic written in CAPS LOCK *HISTORY OF SCIENCE*

She wasnt paying attention to what he was teaching, rather, she was thinking of how they would get Sarah's history from the hospital and get past the cops.

Mr. Alaric continued his teachings:

"Miss Gilbert you said something? " Mr. Alaric asked her as she flinched.

"Ahh.. I.. You.. mmm" she cleared her throat and glanced round the class.

She glanced back at Mr. Alaric who gave her a "go on" look. She got the message and nodded.

"I said I didn't hear what you said at the last part" she lied.

"Ok, I'm gonna repeat for the last time, you better listen attentively. I'm not only referring to Miss Gilbert, I'm talking to you all" he said giving them a stern look as Elena heaved a sigh of relief while he continued.

The bell for lunch break was rung.

Elena couldn't contain the joy she felt as she carried her bag and ran to their normal table for lunch. Her friends followed suit and in less than 5 minutes, they were all gathered round the table while Laura went to order their lunch from the counter. (This story is written by Naomi innocent)

"So Sarah was totally absent from school huh?" Peter asked as Elena nodded.

"Yh, we all noticed and its weird cause she doesn't miss school at all" Elena said.

"Weirdo is her middle name anyway" Laura said as she dropped the tray on the table and they served themselves.

"Am I the only one thinking her absent in school is related to the recent killings?" Elena asked as Alex choked while laughing.

"Definitely you are" Alex said as Laura and Peter joined in the laughter which made Elena rolled her eyes at them.

"Come on guys, this is serious" Elena said as they stopped laughing and continued eating.

Sophia and her crew, Thelma, Anna and Rhoda walked past them as they stared at Sarah's empty seat.

"The bitch didn't come to school today" Sophia said as they huffed and left the cafeteria out of frustration.

They call themselves the STAR girls and they were Sarah's bullies.

"Guess the STAR girls would take a break today from bullying our mayor's daughter" Alex said sarcastically.

But why Sarah never mentioned the bullies to her dad, you know if she does, these girls are so dead" Elena asked as she watched the STAR girls walked out of the cafeteria.

"Have you forgotten that weird kid can't talk?" Peter asked.

School was over that day as they gathered outside.

"Im gonna take my sister home, her babysitter would be back by now. I'll meet you guys at the hospital" Alex told his friends as they agreed and parted ways.

He got to his sister's school and saw her outside with her friends.

"Bye guys, I've gotta go now, my brother is here to pick me up" Bonnie said to her friends as they waved back at her.

She held Alex hand as they walked home.

"Has Peter gone home already? " Bonnie asked.

"Just shut up and walk" Alex said to her as she giggled and asked no more questions.

Elena, Laura and Peter walked to the hospital though they were tensed.

"Come on guys, let's do this" Elena said as they walked inside the hospital.

They walked past the cops

"Halt!" One of them said

"What are you kids doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at home ?" He asked as they turned to face him putting on a faux smile.

"And you, aren't you Sheriff Ruth's daughter? " the cop asked referring to Elena as she nodded.

"Yup, I am" she said within gritted teeth.

"Of course, I saw the resemblance" he said.

"So what are you kids doing here?" He asked.

"They're with me, we're here to see my kid sister, she was involved in an accident yesterday" Alex said as he walked up to them.

"Oh really?" The cop asked and he nodded.

"You may go in" the cop said and patted Alex on his back as he walked back to his duty post.

"Nice one man" Peter said patting Alex on his back as they all walked inside the hospital.

"Right now, we're gonna split, I and Peter would take the Health and Birth history department while the both of you would take the psychological department but first of all, let's go get licence so we won't be accused of trespassing" Elena said as the rest nodded and in unison, they moved to the permit room to obtain a licence.

"Hello ma'am" Alex said to the nurse in the permit room.

"How may I help you?" The receptionist said without sparing a glance at them as she operated the system before her with her eyes glued on the monitor.

"We are here to obtain a license, so we can access the hospital's historical file" He stated and this time, the receptionist who would be in her late thirties with sapphire blue eyes stared at him.

"We don't give people our patients records" she said to them with no facial expression.

"Ma'am, we are not just any people and you think we would be doing this for fun? We hate this shit seriously cause by now we were supposed to be in our houses, enjoying the cozy comfort of our beds but here we are on an errand my mom, sheriff Ruth sent us cause she is damn busy trying to sort out the serial killings in this God forsaking Mystic Hollow!!" Elena shouted in one breathe as everyone in that room stared at her.

"Don't mind me people, you can do whatever you were doing. We are just having a friendly chit chat" she said.

"I wanna see proof that Sheriff Ruth sent you " the receptionist said.

"Here" she said placing the golden badge on her counter.

"You think my mom would give me that for fun?" She asked, the nurse took it and examined, seeing its real she handed it back to Elena who gave her a serious look.

"There's your licence" the nurse said giving them a plastic green card.

"Well, we would be accessing the Health and Psychological Records, which means we would be needing two licence" Elena said as the nurse huffed and gave them another card.

"The Health and birth Record room is close to the mortuary and the Psychological record room is close to ward 15. You guys have 20 minutes" she told them as Elena smiled triumphantly.

"Thanks ma'am"

"That was cool Elena" Laura said as she smiled.

"Here, take" she said handling the card to Laura.

"Let's spilt" she said as they did.

Elena and Alex located the Birth and Health Record Department and showed the nurses the green card. They assigned a tour guide to them.

They started searching for Sarah Bellos record while the tour guide sat on a chair and drank coffee, he watched them search in vain.

"Ok, Im tired of seeing you guys frustrating yourselves, who's history are you looking for?" He asked them.

"We are looking for Sarah Bellos birth History" she told the guide who frowned.

"Sorry you can't access that, that's a restricted record" he told them.

"Please we need your help to solve this death puzzle. It's for the good of Mystic Hollow, we wouldn't be stressing ourselves doing this if it wasn't important" Elena said.

"And what does Sarah history gotta do with this? " the guide said.

"She's our classmate and we think she's the key to solving this puzzle" Elena said.

The guide kept mute for a while before heaving a sigh.

"You better be right kid, I lost my brother Finn Loix to this serial killer too. I don't wanna loose anyone else" he said as Elena nodded.

"Just trust us sir " Alex said as he walked up to them.

"Call me Matt" the guide told them as he walked to the safe in the room and opened it with his ID card.

(Seriously why would Sarah's history be hidden in a safe instead of keeping it where they kept others?) Elena thought as Matt brought out Sarah's record and handed it over to them.

"You guys better be fast, I'll be fired if they found out I opened the safe" he told them as he went to the door to keep watch while Elena and Matt opened the file.
