Maeve POV It’s been three days since I got here, and I haven’t done much. I stayed out of everyone’s way, stayed in the room, and only went to the pond. Sometimes I go alone, or Maya goes with me. I have been getting a lot of stares, and anytime I pass by people, they always bow their heads in greeting. I don’t know why they do that. I am not their alpha. They don’t need to bow their heads. Maeve POV We didn’t talk again, and I just kept following her to the arena. I could see other people also heading there, and they all whispered. They are actually mocking me, saying I just made a stupid decision, but I ignored them. After taking a long walk, we got to the arena, and it’s so big, big enough for thousands of people. We passed through some doors, then we got to Ario. He was putting on a black shirt with black trousers; his shirt wasn’t buttoned up completely, and his black hair was a bit messy. It seems he has brushed his hair with his hand so many times today. Maeve POV “Maeve,” a voice called, shaking her awake. Maeve turned around, opening her eyes. “It’s time,” the voice said again. She looked up at the guards, nodding her head. She sat up, and she saw Maya, the beta, Felix, and Ario with a few guards. Maya looked like she had cried her eyes out, but Maeve ignored it. “You need to change into comfortable attire,” Ario said, pointing to the guard who was holding clothes. “I don’t want it,” she said, standing up but immediately falling back down. Her legs were sore from sleeping in that position for hours; even her back hurt. She closed her eyes, expecting to hit the floor because she didn’t fall. Her plan was to stay away and let the men exhaust her, and when they least expected it, she delivered the last blow, killing her, but she didn’t expect it to go this way. Maeve POVI got to his study, barging in, and he wasn’t there, so I traced his scent down the hallway, passing my room, and I got to a door. The room is secluded, but I knew it’s his room because his scent was all over the place. I barged into the room, and he was sitting on the bed, wearing a black jogger with his head on his palm. Maeve POV“Everything is perfect,” the doctor said, rubbing the gel off my stomach. It has been three days since finding out, and my stomach is getting bigger. It’s more hard now and a little bloated, like I had too much to eat, and things are becoming real. Ario brought me to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor checked on the pup, but we can barely see anything and have no heartbeat yet.“So, the pup is still very little, and we can’t hear its heartbeat. Maybe in a week’s time we will hear it because it’s growing rapidly; it’s already forming a shape.
