I ate the breakfast Giulia had made for me and then spent the next fifteen minutes setting up the cell phone Lorenzo had given me. I saved my mama's number, it was a cell phone that papa didn't know anything about—it was given to mama by my maternal grandmother; Queen Athena.

I came back out to the living room and noticed Lorenzo sitting in the same spot, he was smoking a cigar and staring mindlessly at the ceiling.

Frowning, I peered at the wall clock and noticed that it was well beyond the time he usually left for work. What was the reason for his delay today? I had to talk to mama and I couldn't do that with Lorenzo constantly hovering around me.

"You're still here?" I asked, making my way to the couch opposite him.

His dark eyes pierced me as he lodged the cigar between his lips, sending out smoke that made him look even more attractive.
