Mariana Adams’ Point of View

A few days ago…

Even though my eyes were puffy, I managed to smile in front of the mirror. Liam, my boyfriend, asked to see me after my grandmother's funeral. I didn't have the energy to get up yet, but based on the text message I received from him, I'm sure the topic we'll be discussing is urgent.

As I looked around our apartment, I could still see my grandmother standing there, smiling at me. But the thought of her no longer being a part of this world breaks my heart.

I tried to bite my lip while fixing my bag to prevent myself from crying.

My grandmother died as a result of a terminal illness. There was a chance to extend her life, but my cousin and I couldn't afford it. But, thankfully, we were able to borrow a large sum of money from loan sharks right around the corner.

"What is it that you want to talk about?" I inquired while sitting across from her in a restaurant.

It may be late, but I won't let this precious day pass without even getting an answer from him on why he has been ignoring my texts and calls and refusing to be by my side since I learned my precious grandmother passed away.

Seeing Liam's ruthless look already gave me a hint that something might have happened. Regardless, I don't want to draw any conclusions about any negative events that may occur between us, particularly regarding our relationship..

"We should split, Mariana," he said without taking a break or even saying anything before that.

I froze, I gulped, and I tried to hold back the tears that wanted to trickle down.

"You didn't text and call me. You even refused to see me on the day of my grandmother's wake. Liam, you've been avoiding me for weeks, and now you just want to see me in the middle of the night just to say we should break up?" I repeatedly feel restless.

No expression was seen in his eyes. He was determined to break up with me without giving any concrete reasons.

"I'm not playing a game with you, Liam," I said as tears streamed down my cheeks.

He scoffed, craned his neck, and spat words out. "Neither do I, Mariana."

I nodded my head deliberately. "Tell me one reason, then. Tell me what I did for you to hurt me like this."

"Simply because I'm done playing with you, Mariana. You should know I hate people who have a burden on their shoulders. You should be aware of that by now."

"How about the years we've spent together?" Are we just going—"

"I was just playing. I hope the things I said will process in your mind. Surrender the account I gave you back then, give it to my secretary, and leave my penthouse in an instant."

Liam's words swallowed my brain. After he left, I was completely dumbfounded. We've been together for a year; he promised to marry me and give me the world, but he dumped us, saying he's tired of playing after what he said back then.

I was tired of crying all day, which became the reason why I didn't run behind him.

That night, I went home completely hopeless. I was just walking down the road, looking down as the cold breeze fondled my skin. I was sniffing while stores began to close and staff began to go home, and here I am, crying myself out, thinking about the things that happened in just a snap.

My grandmother was sick, and we had over a million dollars to pay toward the loan sharks we borrowed the money from. However, the money was stolen by someone we don't know. And right now, my only hope was for Liam to seek assistance, but he broke up with me, revealing his true intentions.

I chose to walk alone, not thinking about the danger before me. My gaze remained fixed on the ground as I wiped away my tears, until I lifted my gaze to see the loan sharks waiting for me at the corner of the road.

In a spur of time, I froze where I was, began to tremble, and thought about where to go since there was no one there to save me.

"There she is!" one of them exclaimed, pointing their fingers at me.

Due to astonishment, I ran away from them, running as fast as I could until I bumped into a drunk man in front of a MiniMart. He was tall and lean, about six feet. When I lifted my gaze on him, he looked like a Greek god, yet he reeked of alcohol!

His husky eyes stopped on mine. I hadn't realized I'd been holding his chest for over a minute when he spoke, bringing me back to reality.

"Get off, woman," he hardly spat out.

I veered around, seeing the goons behind, who were hardly running to catch me.

"I'm so sorry, but could you please help me? Those goons are trying to catch me!" I was enunciating, agitated by the man's response.

He only stared at me for a couple of seconds before he sneered; he seemed a bit irritated and didn't even dare pay attention to what I said. Instead, he got inside his car, leaving me no choice but to begin running away from them.

 How heartless!

As I glanced behind, I didn't know that there were already two men in front of me, grabbing my hand as I let my guard down.

"We've got you!" they yelled.

I screamed out of astonishment. I roamed my eyes around, but the location where we currently live has no house or zero possibility of having people around. It was when one of them grabbed my arm, grasping on to it tightly.

"Let go!" I screamed, pulling my arms away from them.

"The days we have given you have been done. Where is the money you borrowed from us?" the goon inquired.

My heart began to race as I didn't know what to say. The remaining money I had in my bank has been stolen by someone I didn’t know since I withdrew it. And starting from that day, we didn't receive any news from it.

"Wait!" I squirmed, trying to break free, but they were too strong.

"Woman, stop running away from us. We let you borrow the money, and you gave us an exact date to give it back. Three days had passed, and you kept running away. Do you think we'd let you get away now, huh?"

A SUV pulled out in front of us. I started screaming when they tried to bring me inside. Even so, as I was being knocked inside the SUV while screaming, I noticed a man's shadow at the corner. I was about to call for help when these idiots covered my mouth with a handkerchief, putting me to a deep slumber.

  • Mafia's Bidding    Chapter 84: Things She Need To Know

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewI had been inside my room for a while, doing nothing more than relaxing, when for some reason I got the idea to call Ares. To tell you the truth, I was merely attempting to call him so that I could fill him in on what had transpired today and let him know that I had seen Lorenzo. Ares' phone rang a few times, and then he picked it up and pretended he wasn't busy when he answered it. "Hey, he seems to have a bit of pep in his step." "Did something take place?" he queried. While I was supine on my bed, I pursed my lips into a pout. "Nothing, baby. I just got off the phone with you…""Have you been thinking about me already? I warned you that you shouldn't go, and you should have just stayed—" I got him to back off by laughing a little bit first. "Oh, love, you're just too much. Put an end to your ruminating. I'm doing well, and I wanted to let you know that I phoned because I'm aware of how much you adore me.""That is, to some extent, true. Now, tell me,

After they had finished shouting in unison, "Let's pay for it!" she came over to me and greeted me with a friendly smile.I got up to speak, and after that I gave the remarks I had prepared. "Is there nothing else besides this that you are interested in purchasing? Do you not have anything else that you would like to purchase?"I'm starting to feel pretty worn out, and I can't wait to get back to my house and take a nap. What do you say? Should we go ahead and do that? Nothing! Let's put that behind us and head out to the store to pick up some provisions. I'm starting to feel pretty worn out, and I can't wait to get back to my house and take a nap."I took my cousin's hand as we made our way toward the register, and after a moment I leaned my head back and rested it on her shoulders. After that, we were very close to our destination! I was successful in completing each of these steps. You shouldn't be too concerned because I will be spending some time with you in this location; is tha

  • Mafia's Bidding    Chapter 82: Out Pt. 1

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewI told her that I would give her the yellow dress that I had seen hanging outside of the store, and I told her that I would give it to her for free. She asked me why she should try it, and I told her, "Why don't you give it a shot?"Despite the fact that this was a store that specialized in selling clothing at low prices, it is abundantly clear that each and every item in this shop is of an exceptionally high standard. When Ares purchased a large quantity of clothing for me from a variety of different fashion brands, I requested that he purchase clothing for me from each of those brands. When I saw how well preserved all of these garments are, I couldn't help but reflect on how unlucky it is for me to be in the position that I am.She made some inquiries about it, and one of the questions she asked was, "Mariana, are you one hundred percent sure that you're going to buy each and every one of the items that I'll put into my shopping cart?" Her tone communic

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewIt should not have come as a surprise that Fatima did not confirm anything. Fatima did not get in the taxi with us until after we had already left this location; however, she did not stop walking alongside me during this time. In other words, she did not get in the taxi with us until after we had already left this location. On the other hand, whenever I tried to think about something else, my mind kept going back to the car that was parked outside so close to our apartment building. When I looked in the rearview mirror and saw the man's face, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it was Emman because I had seen him before. I had recognized him immediately. He was hidden from the view of the general public. My cousin and I have been talking, and ever since I walked in the door, our mutual cousin has been standing outside the house. We are in a terrible position, but we have no choice but to get out of the house right away because we have commitments elsew

Mariana Adams’ Point of View When I got back to Italy, I went grocery shopping so that Fatima wouldn't form any incorrect assumptions about anything, and I also took advantage of the opportunity to catch up on some reading. Because I do not intend to put any of the things that I purchased during that time period to use, I came to the conclusion that the best course of action would be to give the clothing to her rather than keep it in my closet. Ares gave me an enormous cabinet and stocked it with clothing that he had specifically purchased for me and placed inside the cabinet. He also provided me with the cabinet itself. If I'm being entirely truthful with you, I have a thing for fashion, but I'm not particularly obsessed with collecting things at all.She yelled after Fatima, "Good heavens, Fatima! Have I not previously instructed you to get rid of all of these outdated and worn-out items of clothing? I have only just now brought up the fact that we are currently situated within her

  • Mafia's Bidding    Chapter 79: Seeing Her Again

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewEverything brings back fond memories. The door to our flat had a crack in it when we got home. I could even remember how I constantly tell Fatima to close it whenever she comes or when she returns. I could say that whenever she comes or when she returns. Depending on how you look at it, today's opening could have been either of the two. The entirety of our apartment is filled with an eerie quiet that I haven't experienced in quite some time. Ares fled as soon as he caught sight of me approaching the building through the gate. I wasn't sure if Fatima was here, but looking at the calendar and seeing that it's a school day, I'm guessing she left for class. The fact that the gate was opened all the way, though, is what has left me feeling even more dumbfounded. When I saw the door, I instinctively bit the lower part of my lip. Our grandma used to greet us at the door each time we went to school and wait for us outside until we left; however, she is not ther
