45| Telling him the truth

Amaira's POV

"Where were you?" Dominic asked as soon as I entered the room. His tone indicated that he was not in a good mood.

"Ava..." I swallowed and cleared my throat. I don't think it's an appropriate time to tell him the truth. He is angry, and he would lose his senses at this point. "I walked down to drink water," I lied, crossing my finger that he believe me.

"Are you sure?" His brow furrowed at me.

"Where is your phone?" He asked while appreciating me slowly and dangerously.

"Where is it?" He inquired once more, this time louder when I didn't respond to him at one time.

"I- It," I tried to find it in my bottom pocket, but it wasn't there.

When my eyes began to search for it, he pulled it from his back pocket and raised it high enough for me to see it.

"I must have left it in the room," I said, forcing a smile and trying to reach out for my phone.

"Of course, in Austin's room!" my eyes widened "He came here to return this, but you weren't there, so he handed i
