The next day, Evelyn awoke to a gnawing pain in her abdomen. She was having stomach cramps and had curled herself up into a ball on the bed while her brows knitted and beads of sweat coated her forehead. Damian came out of the shower and frowned seeing Evelyn’s state. He walked towards her and placed his palm on her forehead to check her body temperature. “What’s wrong with you?” He asked, his voice laced with concern. Evelyn clutched her stomach. “I’m having stomach cramps. They will stop soon. This is normal.” Damian’s frown intensified. ‘She clearly looks like she’s in a lot of pain, what does she mean it’s normal?’ He said in his mind. He looked over at her and saw how she was trying to hide her pain. His heart ached for her. He brushed a stray hair on her face away, tucking it behind her ear. “You don’t have to go to the club today.” Evelyn shook her head and began to sit up. “No, I want to go.” She wanted to follow Damian. She would miss him if she was separated fro
Evelyn left Damian’s house angrily and entered the cab that her uncle had come with. She was hoping Damian would go after her and tell her he was just acting but he did none of that. Reality hit her hard. To him, she was just a sex pet. She was the fool who thought it was something more and even gave herself to him. She thought there was something more between them. The way he made her feel, the way he looked at her and how passionate he was when they made love. She felt loved and cared for so she believed she was special to him. Turns out it was all just her wishful thinking. Damian had many women, why would he see her any different? Perhaps he was like that with all the other women and she was the fool who read too much into his actions. But even after he broke her heart into tiny pieces, she didn’t hate him. She couldn’t. Evelyn just felt disappointed that she was the only one invested in what she thought they had. Her uncle entered the car with a massive smile on his face
Nina had not seen Evelyn for two days straight and neither was her phone going through. She couldn’t help but get worried. She went to find Jack in his office to ask if he heard or knew anything about her whereabouts. When she walked into his office, Jack raised his head and smiled at her but seeing her worried look, he stood up from his seat and walked towards her. “What’s the matter? Why do you look so worried?” Nina looked up at him. “It’s Evelyn. When you told me her uncle had taken her, I went to look for her at her place but they told me she had gone out to look for a job. And then I tried to call her but her phone was off. Something feels off.” She said, biting her lip. Jack furrowed his brows. He was surprised when he learnt that Damian had let Evelyn go but his friend said it was for the best so he didn’t think much about it. “How about we investigate? Maybe camp at her house to see if she’s really there?” Nina’s eyes lit up at his suggestion. “That’s a good idea.
Damian’s words stung. Evelyn felt her world crumble when he uttered those harsh words about her. Did he just say she was a pet he once used? And Zach could enjoy her if he didn’t mind? Her heart squeezed painfully. Who was Damian to give her away as he pleased? She wasn’t an object. They were talking about her like she was invisible or a stone without feelings. Thinking of how Damian had shown his true colors and insulted her openly, hatred brewed in her heart. When she saw him in the room, her heart thumped louder, she was happy to see him, thinking he was here to save her. But when her eyes landed on Sasha who was leaning into him, her heart dropped. The little hope that had been ignited in her was lost. The two looked like a loving couple that couldn't be separated. ‘So he has already replaced me with her or maybe I was just something he was using temporarily.’ She had thought bitterly in her mind. The pain she was feeling in her heart was unbearable and her eyes
Evelyn was mulling over how she would make her escape when the door to the basement was opened, making her heart leap to her throat. Each time that door opened, she dreaded what her kidnappers would do to her. So far they hadn’t crossed the line apart from training her on how to be an escort but she still had her guard up. She raised her head and glared at Zach who had just walked into the basement with his hands shoved into his pockets. “That was a great show from you and Damian. I almost believed it.” Zach said as he raked his eyes over Evelyn. She was still clad in her earlier outfit. His eyes darkened with lust. He couldn’t deny that she had an appealing body. Evelyn ignored him and turned her gaze away. It was best to keep quiet than to provoke him. Something told her this man had no limits. “Why aren’t you saying anything? Does it mean I’m right? Damian was pretending not to care about you, right?” Evelyn sighed and returned her gaze to him. “If he cared about me he w
Having made up her mind to escape that night, Evelyn waited until she was sure the club would be busy to make her move. Night clubs were the busiest at midnight and she was sure everyone would be occupied to notice her running away. She picked the lock with the small knife she had sneaked into the basement and when the door opened, she stuck her head out and peered around. When she saw no one, she stood on her tippy toes and stealthily walked up the stairs, and went on the left toward the back door as fast as she could. Her heart was racing faster than a galloping horse for fear of being caught. Luckily, as she had anticipated, everyone was busy entertaining clients in the main hall so she was able to walk out of the club without being noticed. Or so she thought. She walked out into the cold night. The surrounding was illuminated by the full moon hanging in the starless sky. A soft breeze kissed Evelyn’s skin and she couldn’t help but inhale it. The basement she was in had
In City B, Zach's territory. Two days had passed without Evelyn being given food or water. She lay tied to the bed in her birthday suit. When it got too cold, she had nothing to cover herself. Not being able to stand it, she caught a cold. No one had come to check on her and with the way she was feeling, she was afraid she would soon die from starvation. Just when she thought she would suffer a horrible death, Zach walked into the room smoking a joint. Evelyn was too tired to move. She looked at him through half-hooded eyes. “Have you come to your senses?” Zach asked when he was near the bed. “Are you still going to try and escape?” Evelyn had no strength to answer. Her throat was parched. She was very hungry and her body was running a fever. Zach didn’t mind that there was no answer. He knew he had already achieved his goal. He had plans to aggravate Damian more tonight. If all goes well, he would be able to determine how important she is to him. He grinned from ear to
Damian felt a pang of jealousy when Zach touched and kissed Evelyn in front of him. He coiled his hands into fists, fighting the urge to get up and punch Zach in the face. He was on the verge of pulling out his gun to kill him. How dare he lay his filthy hands on his woman? He narrowed his eyes dangerously but he couldn’t show any reactions to what was happening to protect Evelyn. He had a plan on how to rescue her and he didn’t want to alert the enemy at this point. There was no need for him to come to this event but he wanted to see how Evelyn was doing. It was not the right time to challenge Zach since Evelyn was still in his grasp. So he had no choice but to turn a blind eye to Zach’s provocation. However, no one knew the turmoil Damian’s mind was going through. A storm of emotions swirled through his chest but he couldn’t act upon them. He could only bury his jealousy and watch as Zach tasted something that should have only been his to taste. Evelyn’s lips were his t
