Kidnapped

~PAMELA

"Well, I'll be damned because I am your date."

My eyes went wide with shock as I glared at him. My heart skipped two beats as my brain took some time to process the information.

"Are you. . .Stephan Delmundo?" I demanded still too shocked to believe it.

He smiled. The air of amusement had not left his face. "In flesh and blood. While you are Pamela Hallway. It appears the pictures of you have done you no justice," he stated with a smirk.

"What do you mean?" I demanded still too shocked to believe my eyes. But it was clear that he was my date the moment he said my full name.

He leaned in closer. "I'm trying to say that you're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. So cute and adorable," he told me.

His words hit me hard and I was not prepared for the thousand butterflies that came alive in my stomach. All my life, no man had boldly told me that I was beautiful.

All I got was that I was too thick or not thick enough. They told me skinny girls were beautiful and that I was ugly. They told me my eyes were too green to make me look pretty.

Yet here this dangerously handsome man was, daring to tell me that I was beautiful.

As if on cue, a waiter came to our table. "What would you like to have, lovely sir and madam?" He demanded.

"Red wine please and some steak, she'll have the same thing too," he answered.

I furrowed my brows slightly. He had not checked with me if I even liked steak in the first place. He only assumed that I would be taking whatever he ordered.

That was the first red flag but I decided to ignore it and to let it go since I was not one to start a fight. I always liked to submit to the greater force and tolerate everything done to me.

"It's a great honor to finally meet you in person. You have no idea how long I have dreamed of this day," Stephan began. I noticed that there was a mysterious and dangerous glint in his eyes. Yet I felt myself drawn to him even more.

"The honor is mine," I answered with a smile.

I noticed that all the women in the cafe glared at us. It was almost as if they could not believe that I was the one on a date with Stephan. They probably thought that I was not good enough for him. I did not think I was either.

The waiter brought our food. He poured out the red wine for us both before scurrying away.

"You are adorable, Pamela," he whispered.

I felt the insides of my body warm at his enchanting words. We spent the rest of the evening chatting and giggling, sipping from our wine occasionally too. This was the best night of my life.

Eventually, it sadly had to come to an end.

Stephan and I were now walking outside the restaurant to the curb he had parked his car. I dreaded the inevitable moment when we had to go our separate ways.

We stopped before his dark car and I started fidgeting with my fingers while staring down at my shoes. What if I went to bed today and woke up tomorrow to find out that it had all been a sweet dream? It still felt too good to be true, that a handsome man like Stephan who could have all the women in the world would be into an ugly nobody like me.

Which was why I wanted to hold on to this moment much longer. So that if he decided to bail tomorrow, then I would be able to find sweet comfort in these memories.

"What is on your mind, my Kitten?" He demanded in a husky voice.

My heart skipped a beat as a wave of warmth washed over me. I could not tell if it was because of the nickname or his sexy voice. Either way, I had to give him an answer.

"It's just that I—" I began and stopped since I was hesitating.

Stephan brought his hand to my chin and lifted it so that my eyes came in contact with his. I let out a shaky breath.

"Speak, you have nothing to be afraid of," he whispered and I suddenly felt safe.

"I don't want the night to end so soon," I muttered.

Stephan chuckled before leaning into my right ear. "You are just in luck, I know a quiet place. Come with me," he requested and stood straight.

His words left tingling sensations in my ears and I felt enchanted by his presence. I should have declined it but I gave him my hand and he led me into his car.

He smiled at me and I smiled back before he brought the car to life. We began to drive in silence for a long time and I suddenly realized that the road was getting more deserted, the farther we went.

That was when I thought of Tiana's concern about Stephan. She had said she had a bad feeling about this.

"Where are you taking me? What's going on?" I demanded in alarm as I was back to my senses.

"You have nothing to worry about. Everything is under control," he whispered as he brought his fingers to caress my cheek.

By now, my heart was hammering hard against my chest and I thought I would die from a heart attack. I flinched away from him and tried to open the door, maybe I could jump out. But they were locked.

"Help! Somebody help me! Let me go!" I screamed as I tapped continuously at the glass shields, hoping for anyone to see me and come to my aid.

Suddenly, Stephan closed a wet handkerchief to my nose, stopping me from inhaling fresh air. I immediately began to feel dizzy. There must have been chloroform on it.

I fell back into his arms and he caressed my face quietly. A dangerous grin played on his face as he watched me go to sleep. As the subconscious world claimed me, I asked myself one question.

What have I gotten myself into?
