Chapter 19
Laughter and jokes were the first things I noticed when Nero and I approached the group. Stan was busy doing a body gag making everyone hold on to their stomachs because of too much laughter. Stan stopped doing so when he noticed us approaching.
“Oh! Here comes the couple!” He beamed making everyone look at us.
Jules and Harvey waved at us while Heart smiled brightly. Lucy just looked at us like she was looking at something disgusting. I wouldn’t have minded if she maintained a straight face but she didn’t. She made it sure that I would see how disgusted she looked at me.
Nero’s grip around my hand tightened as we neared the bonfire. I know that he’s aware I’m awkward with them—especially with Lucy. I just hoped his hold on me would help me so much now.
