CHAPTER 48

Marybeth was back at the Angelo house, in her room. She had hurried into the building, startling the staff, as they had not seen their boss act so weirdly; she was usually so calm and composed.

She had run up into her room, bolted the door, and entered the bathroom. Her face was flushed red with embarrassment. She turned up the tap, splashing some water on her face. What the heck was that interaction?

How did he turn the whole conversation in his favor? She had started the day in control; she'd left Logan stunned, and now his uncle had left her stunned. Now that she had calmed down somewhat, she was left to decide.
