Bakoena Kingdom
Prince Tokelo
I finally arrived at the capital and I was so tired after driving to and from the palace without rest now I need it. It has been a long day but before I rest, I need to contact Lebo. I dialled his number and waited for him to answer. “Brother” his voice came on the line. “They have arranged marriage for our princess man.” I say to him “That’s bad but we knew this will happen sooner or later.” I sigh “I prefer later man, she’s our little sister.” He sighs on the other end. “So, who is she getting married to and does she know?” he asked, his always been the rational one between us. “She doesn’t know man but when I spoke to her, she didn’t have a problem at all with getting married, she said mother groomed her from early age and when the time comes she will be ready.” I tell him “Wow man that is matured of her. Anyway, who’s the unlucky bustard laughed.
“Thabiso from BaTloung Kingdom and why do you say his unlucky?” I know exactly what his thinking. “I say that because the man doesn’t know you and how ruthless you can be. Isn’t he the guy that owns a marketing company?” I do not know about that. “He better be a clean dude, or he will meet the mighty ghost and I don’t know if they are the same person, but I will find out.” I will find every little thing about him and he better come out clean.
“Don’t go all ghost on him yet man, first find out who he is, so that we can deal with him accordingly.” His always rational! It irritates me sometimes.” Yeah you right but am worried about Tsietsi man if he finds out that his future wife is marrying someone else then war is what we will have on our hands” he curses under his breath. “Let’s make sure he doesn’t find out yet until we have all the facts about the guy then we will take action after.” This is why I like him. “Okay, let me call Tools to dig up some information on him.” I know he will get me what I need “Sure man keep me updated.” This is going to be a mess. “Sure man.”
I hung up and Called Tools, it rang once, and he answered like he was waiting for my call. “Ghost” by the way that is how my people call me. “Sure man, I have a job for you” I say “Am all ears” this is what I like about this guy, he does not joke around. “I need you dig up everything about Thabiso, prince of BaTloung Kingdom.” He does not hesitate. “Consider it done” I went laid down after talking to Tool, thinking about what Tsietsi will do when he hears about this.
Tsietsi is the prince of BaTlakwana Kingdom, he, Lebo and I went to varsity together. We were best of friends; we were wild and carefree. He introduced us to some guys who gave us weed and drugs to sell at school. It was fun at first and we made a lot of money. Which help Lebo and I a lot with paying for tutors because back then the kingdom was not as big and prosperous as it is now. So, we lacked somethings, when the deal to sell came along we took it to pay for what we needed.
Everything was going went until we went to Nigeria on school holiday to have some fun with the guys and meet our supplier. When we got there, it was all fun and sightseeing for the first 3 days, the problem started after we met the supplier, we went and met with him and everything went well. But when we went to get the merchandise the guy told us that he found out that Tsietsi and I were princes and that he wants more money.
Which I did not have, he said he will send us back home in body bags, I could not involve the king and queen because my kingdom was not as big or prosperous as BaTlakwana Tsetse’s kingdom. So, he called his father and he came and made a deal with me to convince my father when the time comes to marry off the princess to his son Tsietsi. I agreed because I wanted to get out of there and they were my only option. But things went South after graduation when Tsietsi wanted us to forget about the drugs and oil business and go into human trafficking. I refused because I have a sister and me trafficking women is against everything, I believe in.
We turned into enemies after that because now we were on different sides but one thing remained, the deal I made with his father because in this business a man only has his word and I had to keep mine to prevent war between us. Now that my father has arranged marriage for the princess with someone else and the bride price has been paid. There is nothing I can do to change that unless I find something shady about this Thabiso guy.
In whatever happens I hope the princess will forgive me, her brother was a fool and gambled with her future and now there might be nothing to prevent Tsietsi and his father from divulging the secret to the king and queen. That will only leave them with disappoints in me and my people will be disappointed in their crowned prince.
BaTlakwana and Romo kingdom’s affairs are not exactly a secret amongst the royal and for my people to find out that am involved with them will pose a great threat to me taking the throne in the future. I will not have the support of my people and my kingdom will always be a target. Not only that but my people will always live in fear that they will be sold because of my involvement with those people.
‘Dear gods of Bakoena your prince has failed you and had fail his people. Whatever happens because of my mistakes please spare the people of Bakoena.’ The prince prayed to the gods in his heart now worried that his actions might have done more damage than good.
Bakoena KingdomPrince TokeloI was woken up by my ringing phone and that just upset me, who has the audacity to wake me up from by peaceful slumber? Who am I kidding anyway huh, I will never have a peaceful slumber from now on until Tsietsi is no more or until we reach some sort of agreement which I doubt will happen. Now back to my annoying phone, this person does not want to give up, I took it from my bedside table and checked who the caller was and its Tools. “Tools” am impatient to hear the news. “Boss” seriously! He still has time to greet.” What’s up man talk to me.” I asked, “I have the information you asked for.”
Cape TownMapulaAm so tired, this time of year Cape Town is too hot you feel like you are melting, not to mention when one is wearing the type of uniform I have to wear to school every day. But am lucky because its November and am writing my exams next week. All this will be done and am going straight home right after exams. Am not waiting for schools to close and besides being tired I miss home, my mother’s cooking and no she doesn’t cook everyday since there is a chef but when am around she cooks for me. She says she doesn’t get to take care of me enough and I miss the beauty of nature.Oh my home town is peaceful and not as busy as it is here. I just finished with writing for today and I walked out of the hall. When I got outs
Prince Tsietsi stood at that balcony looking at the princess running away. So, my princess is running away from me now, I wonder what she knows because I know they saw me and am sure they think I did not see them. If Tokelo told her to stay away from me then he has another thing coming, I might just kidnap her then go pay bride price to her people. That way they will not have a choice but to bless our union. It’s not like I will be doing something that has not been done before, this is the way of our forefathers and its about time she knows about me so that she stops wearing revealing clothing, going around showing people my assets
The princess was having a peaceful slumber when she dreamed about the people plotting against her and the king. She could tell that the people plotting against them were close to them however she could not tell who they were but their plans were evil. The dream changed and she saw her brother Lebo in some gun fight but what seemed strange was that he was fighting his friend the prince she met back in Cape Town. She was woken up by a knock on the door and she rolled out of bed and went to open the door. Her personal maiden was standing on the other side of the door with a smile on her face and she turned it then made way for her to get inside. “Greetings my princess” greeted the maiden “Greetings my dear Kgomotso” answered the princess rubbing the sleep of
The following day the princess was up before sunrise due to the fact that royals don’t enter the chief priest’s hut after sunrise, one has to wait for him to come to them if they come after sunrise. She went to the bathroom and did her morning hygiene routine, when she walked out her personal maiden was making the bed and she bow her head and greeted when she saw the princess.“Sunrise greetings my princess” the princess went to her dresser to lotion her body. “Greetings dear maiden, how are you this morning?” asked the princess while busy applying lotion on her body. “I well my princess my thanks for asking, I do hope that the princess is also doing well.” Asked the maiden looking at the princess. “Very well dear maiden.&rdq
BaTloung KingdomPrince ThabisoSo am told that am getting married in two years, apparently they are waiting for the princess to finish high school and also reach maturity. Am saying they say because I wasn’t involved in the decision making, not that I care anyway because I have a girlfriend but I can only take her as my second wife and that will only happen after three years of marriage with the princess.I know its unfair on my high school sweetheart Boitumelo but that is how things are done, I cant take a commoner as a first wife for her children cant
BaKoena KingdomMapulaLast week I was informed about my arranged marriage to prince Thabiso of BaTloung kingdom. Am okay with this, it’s something that I have been groomed for since the age of 9. I just didn’t think it will happen soon after I reach maturity. I hope he is a good man, yes I know that he wont love me the first day we meet but I hope we will be civilized with each other and make this marriage work.Mother says the key to a happy marriage is honesty and communication, she says without communication there is no trust. I hope the same wo
MapulaDays turned into weeks, weeks into months and am back at school in South Africa. It is now June and I just finished writing my midterm exams. Things have been going well on my side, the prince and I have been in contact since I left. He checks on me every day, which is what I prayed for, that we are at least civil with each other.Kwezi and I are going to the mall to spoil ourselves, we both just received our monthly allowances and she still doesn’t know that am a princess. I plan on telling her today, she’s been a good friend to me and always has my back so it’s only fair that she knows everything about me. We arrived at the mall and we went to
