Hanging on a thin thread

I ignored Aniko's warnings and rushed to help Noah get on his feet. I felt so relieved to see him alive because his death has always burdened me.

He sat down on one of the chairs and I offered him a glass of water.

After finishing the glass of water he turned to look at me with tears in his eyes.

"Are you okay Noah?" I asked in a worried tone and he shook his head negatively.

Things haven't been the same since those fucking people took me from the club.

I sighed deeply.

"I thought you died in the woods because of the fire I made."

He looked up meeting my gaze.

"I managed to escape by a thread and I followed the footprints I found in the woods and they led me to this strange house."

He shook his head in disbelief and looked at Aniko who didn't look too pleased by his presence.

She crossed her arms over her chest.

"Luna I don't trust him there's something fishy about him and my wolf just senses it."

Aniko was a nice woman but I didn't want to be rude to her.
